Hey guys,
I got my xperia t yesterday and i immediatly updated it to jelly bean. Ive done 3 full charges already and mediaserver keeps draining my battery. I put in an empty sd card and ive only got a few photos. Does this go away after a few days or should i do something about it?

Let it settle for a few days. It will get better. This is normal behaviour
Odp: Mediaserver battery drain
In my case Mediaserver stands ONLY for any app that plays music when the screen is off. So for me it's PowerAMP.

Mm it's been three days now and somewhere.around 7 charges and mediaserver is still draining my battery. Is this still normal? Should i leave the device on as long as possible to let it settle? Or should.i reboot every day?

rebooting everyday is a little extreme i reboot about once a week it takes a couple of hours for the system to settle again but i have to charge almost twice a day once fully and once a quick top me up 20 - 30 minutes max and that gets me through the day listening to music allday through a bluetooth headset phone calls texts internet and gaming

This is really strange. It shouldn't be that way.
Well if you want, you could try repairing the software using PCCompanion or Sony Update Service. And then check if the problem still exist.
Re: Mediaserver battery drain
It's slowly getting better im just going to wait a couple more days. Screen is highest consumer now instead of mediaserver but its still high.

If youre on root, download rescan media root. Disable automatic scanning.
Then download rescan media to rescan manually.

is it realy working ?
so should i even disable Dial pad touch tones and screen lock sound, touch sounds ?
what about vibration?

I need a kernel for stock JB with best batt life..
Read my details bellw...
I just changed to this phone...JB V20a out of the box...I found out that this phone runs out of juice like, super damn fast...
Im using Data Connection 24/7, screen brightness at 20%, Auto-Sync Off, Location Off..
GPS off, Auto-backup Off...
I finished from 100% batt to 10% just about 5-6 hrs top...
Ive managed to solve the battery drain during sleep issue, i solved the deep sleep issue, i even using EcoMode....
I dont think thats reasonable and i know this phone have bad kernels...
Can anyone suggest me the most best kernel for stock rom with at most, can give me the best battery life?
Thanks!

I would also suggest iodak..I am using it for two weeks now and I see some improvement..You can undervolt and underclock for better battery life too...
You should try reinstalling your ROM, try with v20c, my dad's phone has one day and a half of battery with two hours of screen on, sync on with a gmail and a exange account from his work, whatsapp and that, in my case I can reach 10 hours on zaiben with eternity project and with gmail sync, whatsapp and 20 mins of playing modern combat 4 and real racing 3 each

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:
zandm7 said:
Seriously though this ROM is great. All that needs to be fixed are the camera bug, music wakelock thing, and heavy battery usage from Android System and Google Services and then it's basically perfect.

So, i guess its normal? But an actual CM User can give you better report. Not using it anymore.
awww, gregbradley?
30% in 8hours sleeping? horrible....but you are right, let it settle, fmlogin
Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..
The governor is ondemand and I didn't change the clock of cpu...
I'll install the app and come back with a screenshot, so I think it'll be easier to find some problem

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?

Cm 10.1 face battery suck and gaming is no fun.
Here's the fix.
ANDROID 4.2.2 ONLY
1.if ur battery is getting pulled every half an hour just go to Google play and calibrate via any battery calibration app.
2.reflash ROM
3.one main problem that might be solved don't flash from 4.1 to 4.2 that's why it sometimes suck.
4.jump from cm7 to 4.2 that's why it is cool
Now ur done ur battery problem solved.
For other android versions pm me .
HIT THANKS

cm9.2: 10-16 hours
deepsleep included. every time i flash, i delete battery stats, but each rom doesn't lasts more than 3 days on my phone before i flash the other cm, i do wrong? should i wait more time testing? gb or ics for battery life? what do you think?
