Anyone know how to make ring tones loop?
I say this as I am using the Incubus froyo build and when I set it to the Digital Ring (not a custom ring tone) , it only tones once.
This, as you can imagine is quite annoying, anyone know why or how to fix this? Others must be dealing with this problem.
This was talked about before but I'll have to look for it, from what I remember you need to open it in an audio editor and there's some kind of "loop" tag that is set to false on Digital Ringtone. I'll see if I can find the post (unless somebody beats be to it)
EDIT: Here's the post
and HERE is an archive with all the files already looped
Use Bell phone its close. Sorry I don't have a better solution.

Thanks for the link. I remember this being an issue in the past (I have used Android since the beginning). I remember putting the media folder on the SD card and the phone detected automatically.
This is not the case however with my version of froyo. I put the media folder on the SD card with all the audio and the phone isn't detecting the additional ringtones. Is there anything else I need to do?

Download 7zip (google it) and you can open .tar/.tgz files with it.
Download the build you'd like to use and open with 7zip.
Replace the media folder with the new one.
Flash the new androidinstall.
Or here's an androidupdate with the new media. (Haven't tested though)

The update file works perfectly. Finally getting a loop with the digital ringtone. Thank you very much.
hi, i don't know if this is the right thread to ask but how do i set a custom(.mp3) ringtone to android searched google and XDA but couldn't find anything useful that works, thanks
EDIT: don't know if it's important but i'm using Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 RLS12 on NAND
Since upgrading to CM6 Stable I haven't been able to playback mp3 files. Subsonic gives me the error "Prepare failed.: status=-x1 (IOException)". Music player states the device does not support this file type.
I am able to play FLAC files though. looking in /system/lib I do see the flac library but I don't see one for mp3 (I don't know the specific name, I'm comparing against my Vibrant). Any idea how to restore the mp3 codec libraries?
Debug from com.android.media
Debug from com.android.music
try reflashing cm6, also dont forget to do a wipe
Alright, I did a wipe/factory reset via clockwork then flashed update-cm-6.0.0-N1-signed.zip
After booting I opened music player and tried playing an mp3 file with the same result, flac works but mp3 doesn't
Edit: I tried to flash a stock firmware via adb flash_image. Flashed the system and boot to revert then installed CM6, no change.
Have you tried the default music player? 2.2 has a new media framework, some apps might need updating.

God damn, I finally did a complete reset to stock flashing system.img, boot.img then wiping /data followed by flashing CM6 and everything is working again.

Just to be sure that I have the same problem. I am able to play SOME files while others don´t work at all (gives me the "not recognized" error). ID3 tags do not appear in the phone, but I can see them in my PC.
I tried transferring files from my PC, downloading directly to the phone (DropBox and MP3Download) and most of the files don´t work, only a few do....strange.
Searched and found some people who had issues when upgrading to Froyo, but before flashing CM6 I had already updated to FRF91 Froyo build and had no problems with music files, so I am assuming something happened when flashing CM6. Other problem might be I bought a new 16Gb SD Card some days ago (just when I flashed CM6), so I have yet to be sure which one is guilty.
Well, just to be sure if I have to reset and flash again.

I believe mkv files with more than 720p resolutions cannot be played properly on the Galaxy S.
hi,
the semaphore's kernel has the option to enable the radio FM chip in the settings program. I wonder how can I listen to local FM radio channels using cappy even though all ROMs don't provide the FM radio program? when I tried to instal an FM radio program manually (extracted from SGS3 programs, odexed) either by direct install or copying it in system/app or data/app, I couldn't see any FM radio program in drawer. I use ICS 4.0.4 the Doc's or Simply.:good:
did anyone try this out and it worked?
bye
The captivate has no fm receiver so it will never happen.... sorry
Phoned in.....
Hello everybody,
this is an update for the official LG FM radio app, that in my device (and maybe also im yours) was stuck to the 6.20 version. Here it is the 7.10, with a bonus: you can install a patched version that enables radio recording in every country in the world, and also allows you to use radio while the phone is in airplane mode (the funny thing is that in the app's code, it's called "airplain" mode).
If you just want to update the app, install the com.lge.fmradio apk file as usual. If you want to enable recording and airplane mode mod, don't update but just copy the base.apk file to /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder, renaming the base.apk file to LGFmRadio.apk.
it works kinda
ok so in stock rooted lg g5 h850
the update works as is and also i was able to roll back to the 6version but the MOD does not work . I did not get any record button or smthing like that. Restarted it multiple times and gave the same RW permissions as the original file ....
Do i miss a step or smthing ? idk
On my phone it worked, the app made a folder called "FM Radio" in the internal memory and it stored there the recordings in m4a format. Is the rom you're using deodexed? Because if you have the odex files maybe the recording part of the app is loaded from there. Check if in the /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder there is just the apk file or also the odex files. By the way, I think it was my fault in the instructions: I said that you had to install the update and then copy the apk file. That is wrong: if you want the mod, don't update and just copy the apk file. I'm going to correct the guide.
You maybe know how to make it work as a Magisk module? That would be easier and better than replacing a file in system folder.
Ok now
It was the steps wrong as u said ...did not had to install the new one only copy ... Man everything works thank you for finding this . Also i saw in the apkmirror many more apks like that ( mainly updates for the apps that we have in g5 ).I think like the radio it is- was updates for lg g6 lg v20 maybe giving them more features over g5 ( to boost sales ?) Could be it ...idk really :silly . Hahah
Thanks for sharing with us

Add that u need to give the same rw permissions and UID like the original file
It may be not necessary but could be helpfull revolving small issues
Yeah, on apkmmirror there are a lot of updated LG apps that work on G5 Oreo. As fas as I know after testing them, Gallery, Contacts, File Manager, Calendar, Clock and QuickMemo work perfectly. Messages doesn't open at all, and camera opens only in Selfie mode, but crashes when trying to use one of the rear cameras.
Of course I'm talking about the latest versions that don't require Android 8.1 or above.
Issue with H830
Installed to /system/priv-app as per the instructions and also the app .apk however in the app everything is greyed out and it does not play nor scan.

Did you plug in headphones? I believe it is needed to use the wire as antenna.
Yes I did plug in headphones.
