You have to set correct permissions to these files.

Set it to rw--r--r I guess

Which ones? And are there other roms for the desire c that have already included this fix?
Thanks! :good:
The broken wifi was a major drawback for me, because of the short battery life... I have no developer skills.

Hello, thx everyone for help, i found a workaround.... bluetooth hotspot, its slow but working.

WIFI hotspot on CM10 ROM
Folks.. some info to add to the fray..
My WiFi is working, stable and connects every time.
I've also got a working WiFi hot spot (see edit at bottom)
I'm doing this on cute_prince CM10 build 3...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265060
With the instructions from post 1 of the WiFi fix
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49035215&postcount=1
I'm using NOPE v2 kernel 750mhz
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42314934&postcount=1
(I had the WiFi connection problems using prometheus CM10 kernels -I don't know enough to know why the difference with NOPE)
To get a WiFi hotspot - (I saw someones post in the desire c forums -cant remember who or what thread, but thanks!) to try the Barnacle WiFi tether app:
- You need to enable "Skip wpa_supplicant" in its settings. It does mean however that the hot spot is an unsecured network... I confirmed the hot spot to work with my windows PC.. will try with my nexus 7 later.
I've got "Keep WiFi on during sleep" set to "never" as i like to turn it on/off as required. It reconnects every time. If i leave the WiFi on and put the phone to sleep (i.e it`ll disconnect the WiFi whilst asleep), the WiFi will reconnect fine every time i wake it up. No rebooting required.
Hopefully this is a solution to peeps who want a usable WiFi, and for any devs trying to solve this issue..
BTW thanks all devs for cooking some nice ROMs and Kernels to keep this little phone going. A few months ago I was ready to bin the desire c and the stock slow sense!
obs
edit- WiFi hotspot works fine with my win 7 pc- i can see and connect to the hotspot, but on my nexus 7 2013 i can't see the hot spot at all
edit 2 - Looks like the issue with the nexus 7 is that android devices are not able to connect to ad-hoc wifi networks which is what the barnacle app creates!

[Q] Flashing to CM7 without breaking wifi?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Euro which I have been painfully trying to get on to CM7 for the last few days. The problem I have is when I flash back to a stock Froyo (2.2.1) my wifi won't connect to wpa connections. This isn't brilliant for me as my home router is secured with WPA and I do not wish to change it, as the people living in my area are all mostly IT specialists and would take advantage of a wep or unsecured network. This is due to the slow speeds we get in our area.
Does anyone know of a way to flash an older rom on to my phone whilst keeping the ability to connect to wifi properly once it is running CM7?
I am currently running a 2.3.3 rom downloaded from samfirmware.com
Thanks in advance for any help
Why is your WiFi-connection 'broken' with Froyo? My router is also secured with WPA and don't have any problems...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
This I cannot figure out, I tried everything from enabling/disabling wifi/GPS/BT and wiping and starting all over again. All of these methods resulted in my phone being unable to connect to my WPA secured wifi, any unsecured connection nearby connects straight away. I seem to get stuck in an obtaining IP address loop, which never resolves.
Have you ever tried another modem?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
How do I do that? On 3g its a little difficult to download a different modem as the extras for cyanogenmod won't load properly in the ROM Manager app.

Also, go into advanced wifi and set up a static IP. That may do the trick.

Not Odin. Custom kernels are flashed from recovery as zip files. Very quick and easy.
Tried a few other methods of doing this and every time it gets broken. Are there any other fixes I can use to get wifi to work again? Any files I can modify myself or delete?
Right, managed to convince my other (better?) half to let me try it on her phone as we both got the same phones at the same time. Will post results soon...
Ok, same thing happened with the wifes phone so I decided to dig an old wireless router out of the shed and set it up with WPA security. And the phone then connected. So I'm not entirely happy with the crap that is my BTHomeHub. All in all, I'm now running CM7 RC1 and I'm happy as larry with it
Congratulation!

First chk by using a WiFi scaner from play store and see if it shows a network.for this ssid should be not hidden in router.if it shows Try disabling WPA (security)in router and try.it should connect then.if scanner not show any network I guess its a kernel prob..

Did you try installing another kernel? And since you are s OFF you dont need to push the wi-fi module using adb . A recovery flashable zip file will do. Look in the development section for links to kernels

Wifi going off on TWiz Roms.

Hello all, sorry for my english.
I was using asylum and cm10.1 for along time and there great but i miss the TW goodness so i revert back to ultimat 5.0 for now, and i have a problem with wifi stop working all the time, what i mean is that after 30 minuts or so the wifi shows that its still connected but no data is transfering, if i leave my torrent client open then after 30-/+ minuts it stops downloading.
I must say that in aosp roms the issue is not exsiting, and every thing is ok. If i turn off the wifi and turn it back on the issue is solvd until the next time.
Ps. Im on LSA and i flashd the LSO modem and the problem is still there.
Is this a hardware issue or software? What othet test i can do to eliminate the problem?
Thanks

I think the latest version of the ROM you are on should be 5.1.. Try updating since youre on 5.0, maybe that will fix your wifi issue..
Yeah but that another issue becuse if i flash 5.1 the phone stuck at the first screen of "galaxy note" and thats it.
I think the file is maybe curropted, but i cand download another one cuz my wifi is disconnecting all the time.
I think i dont have a choice and ill have to go to aosp agian and download from there.
I am traveling and dont have access to a normal pc.
You think maybe other modems will fix the problems?
Thanks.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Im not sure but shouldnt you do full wipe before flashing some other ROMs?..
You talking about 5.1? It doesn't matter if I flash over or clean install non of them are working, anyway I'm downloading the new leak now and we will see if the problem is there also.
Thanks.
