Is somebody using JuiceDefender on this device?
Sent from my HTC Desire C
Yeah, been using it for a while, defiantly makes a difference in battery life.
Juice defender is not worth it on low end devices like that. What you get is placebo and the same amount of battery drain as usual. It takes battery just to do the tasks you give it, so its pretty much useless. Stick to greenify.

Don't know if you've tried it but I got the Ultimate version and it does seem to preserve battery. No placebo at all since I'm getting more hours per charge.

I had the ultimate version of the app as well. It didn't change it for me, even though I made it as battery conservative as I could. I'm just drawing conclusions on personal experience.

I use my phone alot for work, and I really need to get more juice out of it. I've tried changing sync settings and using battery stats to check app useage but battery life is still a bit lousy. Anyone got a suggestion for another battery for it?
Thanks

Samsung original 3000 mah battery with replacement cover. The only draw back the phone becomes a little heavy and 3 mm thick.
Btw I'm selling mine since I would like to have a lighter phone with less battery life. . pm if interested.

There's many ways to improve your battery life. Look around or get extra one.
Anyone know how strong of a charger this phone will accept and use efficiently and safely without causing a problem? I haven't seen this asked but the battery life is terrible on this phone. Honestly the battery is just not enough mah to be efficient on the phone. I wonder what kind of battery life people are getting who actually have lte?

Doesn't matter if it's 'too strong' as it will only pull the current it needs. Too small is what you need to worry about.

You must be doing something wrong then or setup something that is eating away at it. I have had my one off the charger now for almost 11 hours and I'm at 92%. Obviously I haven't used my phone hardly at all today thus far, but even with moderate usage I have been very pleased. I have been losing 1% about every 45 min today. That's solid

Is idle drain still a problem after people have rooted and frozen bloat apps? Here is a screen shot of good idle drain from an HTC one mini. 3% in 9 hours.
When I had an X and a Droid Mini, they lost 10-15% in that same time period, despite showing 98% deep sleep in better battery stats. And they were setup exactly the same as the one mini.
Anybody with an X getting anything close to as good as what I posted?
And for those who want to say "who cares," the point is that idle drain overnight is indicative of idle drain during the day. Bad idle drain is a symptom of other problems and poor optimization by Motorola, imo, and it concerns me.
Sent from my HTC One mini
My idle drain is comparable to what you posted. I went to bed at about midnight with a full charge and now it's 7 and I'm at 98%.
I don't really notice it. I charge overnight and it lasts through the entire day and into the late evenings (8-11pm). When you're getting 5 hours of screen time, I think the optimization is working lol.

Are you seeing excessive idle drain? Metal head is about the only person I've seen posting good things about idle drain. I'm tempted to buy another X now that we have root, but seeing 15% drain in 8 or 9 hours of idle just bothers me to no end for some reason.

Also I would add that I think this problem affects most X owners, even though some (or most) will never notice. The battery threads show that pretty much EVERYBODY has higher than normal android OS use, due to the kernel according to gsam battery monitor. I think that is what's responsible for the drain, and personally I couldn't get it to go down even when I disabled everything. Android OS simply should not be the #2 battery drain behind screen, and it almost universally is on the X and the new Droids.

Nope, just always looking at finding better batt life. Last avg was 0.7% drain overnight. Just did a complete reinstall of the OS, root, and freeze. Going to see what happens tonight. Also hoping my moto assist starts working.
Is your wifi & mobile network access enabled under location access? That also causes drain, seemingly constantly. As far as I know, that is a bug with Google services and isn't unique to the X, but most prevalent in 4.2+ devices.

always. If I turn this off google now and anything else that needs GPS stops functioning. takes too long to get a gps lock without.
I bought the device because my TF700 deteriorated to a short runtime. I tested the TF701 and it only lasted 7 hours with dock while being moderately used. The device would be useless for me on my usual 9 hour transatlantic flights. I think for now I will keep both for 14 hour South America flights but that will only be an emergency solution.

It could be the apps you use. Some apps are battery hogs. So it depends and with that touch cpu frequency scaling thing maxing out, I imagine the power drains even more. Also you can have battery hogging apps running in the background ya? Google Services and syncing, Screen Brightness etc. POS(Point of sale) ASUS touch screen device what can you do? Sell it? :silly:
I have had the opposite experience. My TF701 lasts somewhat longer than my TF700. I have basically the same setup and apps on both. I thought I remember others saying it was the same for them.

You could create another user profile that has less going on. That might help. Cant say for sure.
ALso. The only one I found that shows you good stats on your battery is Android Tuner 3c. I think They have a battery widget as well.

Tested it with the same apps. TF701 isnt as good for my needs as the TF700. Asus managed to push the resolution over 1080p at the cost of battery runtime. I need to get a replacement battery for my old tablet.

hm.. Battery life is a *****. Some reviewers claim 10-13 hours of video playback. Others say 7 hours, others say 5 hours.... :/
I get about 9 hours on my TF701 when I start getting charge alerts. The shortest time I've got so far was 7 hours with intense cpu, screen and network activity before I ran into the red.

And that tells you - what?
How often is it going to be essential to watch 13 hours of video?
Or 7?
Or 5?
Battery life is going to depend greatly on how you set up and use the tablet.
Fact is, with the dock battery there is hardly anything out there that gives you BETTER battery life in terms of total hours of use without recharging. No matter how you use it.
I get better battery life on the TF701 than I do on my TF700......
Hi, For those who got nexus 6 somehow or who can just guess:
How much is battery going to be ?
Also when they say 8 hours of usage from 15mins charge, 8 hours of video? Or browsing? Or calling ? Or.... 8 hours of what usage ? How long does it take for it to fully charge? And how many percent does the battery get charged after 15mins?
This is just the most awesome thing its like its built for me , only problem is battery life ! (my nexus 4 batterylife is not good, but not unbelievable !) i always carry my nexus 4 charger with myself !(in my pocket)
+ , i hope my father will have some money till than :| or i should give up my espresso machine

Also, the title is very misleading, the difference in life is an hour apart between devices.

They've only said how many hours in how many minutes of charge. But if I had to guess, it's probably 25% in 15 minutes. And the 8 hours is most likely standby time.

Just found the link, even better, only about 50 minutes separate the two.

Yes, that's why i'm putting custom kernel on mine, and lower the current. Both batteries are amazing, and last long enough, only 50 mins difference, but Nexus 6 display is also bigger, so there is that.

As long as the battery lasts until the next nexus comes out. I'm OK. Surely this has been tested enough to get a year out of the battery. Time will tell. But it does tapper off after it has so much charge. I'm putting a little faith in battery technology. And maybe I could use custom kernel and then flash stock when I NEED a quick charge

Ahh, the good ol' battery life questions. Most stupid/ridiculous/irrelevant question anyone can ask because it is very much subjective. 4 hours SOT could only mean 2 for someone else, and maybe closer to 6 for others.
There are so many things that can influence how good or bad battery life is for each and every individual - some things can make a significant difference. Everything from the apps you use, those that are signal in the background, screen brightness, cell signal quality, are you using wifi, is your phone in airplane mode, do you play games and if so do they also require an internet connection.
Battery life questions and more than that, battery stats pictures drive me absolutely insane. Those that post them are clearly highlighting their lack of knowledge and general stupidity.

The charging current itself shouldn't really impact the wear on the battery. The only increased wear would be due to the increased heat generated by faster charging.
That said, I think it's a good trade-off. My Nexus 5 charges to full in about 1h20m, and I'm able to deal with the lackluster battery life as a result.
