Disable fast dormancy? - Moto X Q&A

is there a way to disable this on the moto x? i'm on 4.4 rom. i hear it is suppose to provide better battery for all android phones...

I had to do that on my Z1 because if i did not, here in Argentina, the phone would be awake 100% of the time (no fastdormancy support in this country).
Moto X has no such issue, but trying it could be good.

We just need to find the System Dump menu codes.

based on the build.prop file, fast dormancy on moto x is disabled by default
Code:
ro.mot.ds.fastdormancy.disable=true
ro.mot.ds.fastdormancy.incall=false

I want a divorce

Is there any way to get google's never ending intrusion into my new Moto X to go away? I don't want to sync with G mail. I dont want automatic update.
I just want an android phone without the umbilical cord. Moto X developers edition
Thanks for any help. I may just sell the thing and go back to generic Chinese phone.

Good luck but you could try gummy ROM or liquid smooth as locations has an issue, remove all gapps and I believe xposed has a privacy module too

If you're rooted, just freeze the things you don't want. Done.

ok well i have some info on this you can't make it go completely away but you can make it bug you as little as possible and use as little battery as it can
first off you have to have a google account you can't skip that unless you download a diffrent market place like amazon and so forth. so you do have that option.
but this is how i have my phone set up right now
i have everything frozen but Gmail play services and market, google account manager
so i froze
google backup transport
google calender sync
google contact sync(your contacts won't sync to your gmail)
google one time init
google partner setup
google search
then go into gmail and open your account and uncheck everything so nothing syncs at all
that is about the best you can do stock rom wise.
battery drain wise sense doing this Android OS has Gone down to 3rd in the list. instead of the top.
but i spend most of my time on the phone or texting. so voice calls and screen on time are my top two.
Just to let you know, divorces can be messy, wish I could just freeze my x wife as easy as freezing Google apps

i can tell you this i love my stock moto X i have tried all the roms for the sprint X
with most custom rom i have issues with FC and horrible battery life
with my stock moto X it is rooted and detoxed via TB i freeze my Apps not uninstall.
with greenify also hibernating most apps.
she runs smooth and fast
with battery life on a full charge over 24 hrs
right now my phone has been off the charger for 4h 45mins at 85%

[Q] Moto Features Package?

Is it possible to put all the Moto X specific features into one flashable zip that will work on any rom? Basically I want to explore other roms, but I don't want to lose Touchless Control or Active Notifications. If it hasn't been done yet, I'm sure some brave soul will figure it out eventually.

There's similar apps that replace active notifications and some Roms do have it built in to the ROM but for touchless control no and probably never will be ported

[Q] Touchless control and active display is not working for CyanogenMod on my moto x

Hi guys,
I recently flashed new CyanogenMod 11 on my moto x and I lost active display and touchless control app can anyone tell me how do I get back these two app
You don't.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the only ROMs that have Touchless & Active are stock-based ROMs. So AOKP, AOSP, PA, & CM ROMs do not have these features.
I tried using Peekbut not as good as stock AD

I installed peek and it worked but it's not so great as stock. Is there no rom's that support stock Active display and touchless?

That the reason i stay with the stock rom. But just wondering which specific features do you want of CM?, because you can implement nearly all with modules on Xposed Framework, especially with GravityBox.

Ya I have xposed and gravity box which is good but not accurate lik the stock one :/.
I am getting back to stock now having location issue and exchange servers and camera not working well on Cynogenmod 11
There is a Play store app that is similar to active display I believe, but that is the best you'll get.
And it will use far more battery, as it won't run off the low voltage core.
If you just want to flash ROMs but keep Moto features you should check out Eclipse or Krypton. Also checkout Faux kernel (not a rom but still modding fun and great battery life boost got me). AOSP implementation of active display is pretty awful compared to native active display, in my opinion.
Will v give that a try. Right now I'm in PAC ROM and so far it's good but still as you said native active display is the best

I tried using PAC for a few days. The battery drain for me was terrible. Every time I pulled my phone out of my pocket the screen was on. I think I screwed up by having active display and their notification screen enabled. Additionally, the 'blame the split screen' crashes were amusing the first few times but quickly became infuriating.
I'm currently trying out slimrom on my moto x. It doesn't have active display, but it's probably the smoothest rom I've used on the phone. I'm using an app from the Play Store, DynamicNotifications, which is a better option, imo, verse the built in AOSP version (which I believe is based on AcDisplay, but I could be completely wrong about that).
I'm going to give slim a try for a few days, but I don't think anything will work as well Eclipse.
If you're set on an AOSP rom, give slim a chance. If you want a feature packed AOSP rom, check out LiquidSmooth (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/rom-liquidsmooth-v3-1-moto-x-ghost-t2781356). I think LS has the same features or almost the same features as PAC, but it didn't crash nearly as much on my device. I actually made it a full week before switching back to Eclipse.
I will try LS this time

Change system phone app in Nougat?

Hello all,
I'm running click on my Moto G 2014. It's amazing, phone runs faster, and battery consumption is way down. Only thing I don't like is the default system phone app. To answer, you have to swipe up very fast, and it doesn't always work. There are no options to change how the phone answers calls, i.e. different gestures or buttons. Downloading dialer apps doesn't work either, since they only dial out, not answer calls. Is there any way I can replace system phone app with a better one?
Thank you

[REQUEST] MOTO ACTIONS from Non FI & Non Android one model

Okay, I've an XT1900-2. The Non-FI version. But I've gone ahead and flashed the Android one ROM and everything is working well, but the Moto Actions in this ROM is devoid of the Fingerprint Gesture that I love.
So any Non-FI folk be kind enough to share the .apk, please??
Awaiting....
Here it is. I've added the Moto, Moto Screen and Moto Key aswell, just in case they are needed.
Folders are taken straight out of my /system/priv-app, not sure if you need to copy the odex files aswell.
PS: Next time when requesting some file, don't mark the thread as Q&A. It doesn't allow me to upload files directly to XDA this way.
Thanks, will keep that in mind. BTW, your Moto Actions shows Fingerprint Gestures? Even after replacement, mine doesn't show anything.
Yep, it shows everything here (inside Moto app). Did you also replace the Moto.apk app or did you just install the MotoActions?
No man, not working. Thanks for the apps and help, though.
