[Q] Unable To Boot/ Mount CWM Cache/Possible Brick - LG Optimus 2x

Hi all..
Please I have this problem on my su660 device.... After I install CM10.1 JB successfully; then discovered certain bugs like SDcard mount, etc . I downloaded the the fix and flashed it after doing a full wipe...but it didnt fix anything.
I then wiped a second time to restore my previous backup. I wiped data, cache, then when I tried wiping Dalvik Cache, I got some errors like
Code:
E:/ Unable to mount cache
E:/ .. .. .. ..
E:/ .. .. .. ..
E:/ .. .. .. ..
Sorry,, cant remember all those stuffs, so I replaced with dots . (maybe I'll just attach a screenshot!
I did a search and found a guide to fix the problem (related to format SDcard to FAT32, and all that), I did all that and nothing worked out.
I tried another tutorial that should help me fix it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274 , I followed the guide to unbrick the device coz I think its bricked already, but I keeping getting an error msg like
Code:
Unable to detect USB device
...whenever I tried to run the flash.bat file!
I have LG united drivers properly installed. I even installed the drivers a second time....
Is there any way I can get this device fixed ? Or is totally dead?

you might need to uninstall drivers and then install, i am sure you are install when is drivers is still installed just reinstall, right?

yeah..I did reinstall, replacing previous!
But now, I uninstalled and installed again, I still get same problem!
screenshot attached!

You need nvflash driver and not the lg one.
Download nvflash drivers:
Remove battery
Connect usb cable while you press and hold volum- and +
Install nvflash drivers
Run flash.bat

Thanks for this bro.....
But I just downloaded all that and tried it, it didn't work out! it just displayed the same error I posted in the above screenshot.
Bro, the thing is, the device doesn't even boot up. Whenever I try to boot the device, it boots into recovery(cwm) then display some errors at the bottom like
Code:
E:/ Cant mount cache/recovery/log
etc...
Is there any other way I could try out?

Sounds like your partitions are screwed up. I have the p990 o2x so might not apply to your phone, but when I installed cm 10.1 i had to repartition my phone to the old layout before it would boot properly.
You could try using AIOTK and repartition your phone using option 4, then choose old layout but it will WIPE ALL YOUR DATA. It will basically install a recovery bootloader so you can install your CM zip again.
For the internal SD card problem, follow piotr121993 instructions from here
The IntSD-MountFix.zip he is talking about is inside the AIOTK folders.

if you still didnt resolve this problem, try this:
1. uninstall driver from driver manager
2. install again
3. use another usb cable (i am tried everything to root but nothing, but changing usb cable solved my problem)
report "us" again if you still have problem, me and other people will help to resolve if we can

hey
I have used this video and worked perfectly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl9Vs8_zcfo it will take you back to android V.2.2.2
the files I used is here on my MEGA drive

[Q] Samsung Galaxy "can't mount..."

Hello everybody,
first of all: congratulations for this helpful and amazing forum. I love reading and testing the roms which are offered here.
I just tried the Hybrid v 5.0 rom - the best i ever tested. Everything was smoothie and very harmonic.
Unfortunately it was not possible to write emails and to connect with Samsung Kies.
So i decided to use the known 2.3.4 version which works satisfiying.
To prepare the phone i made a wipe data/factory reset.
After reseting the phone shows me - when turned on and booting - the logo of Galaxian Kernel and the blue "loading beam" with the notice "is loading now."
But it doesnt quit loading.
The cwm shows me:
"E: can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E: can't mount /cache recovery/log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: unknown volume for path [cache/recovery/last_log]
....
"
Maybe some important datas are erased?
I really don't know what to do now.
Could you please give me some helpful advices (please use the easiest words because i'm no expert...) ?

For connecting kies you just have to install one patch, it will connect.
Regarding resetting, some files i deleted for utilizing space, which required for factory reset thats why you getting that.
let me explain why i delete that files, see when someone switch ROM ever developer want that user do fresh install but usualy people are lazy so they simply flash rom on other ROM, by deleting that files i conform that if someone want to change ROM then he had to flash first stock rom then other ROM so atleast he didnt got error or didnt able to claim that he coming from that ROM and so he getting this error.
btw for both issue why didnt u asked for patch, its easy task for me to make cwm for that and you able to connect kies and able to do factory reset.
Thank you very much for your fast answer.
i didn't thought about asking, sorry..
That's right. Before flashing your great rom i used the clear 2.3.4 firmware. I did the whole procedure as described here. Use a stock rom and than the other rom.
What could i do right now?
My phone doesn's start. "is loading now... " is written under the logo of Galaxian Kernel. The phone doesn't boot, isn't known by the PC, so i don't know what to do....
Boot to recovery and try wipe almost everything you can, factory reset, cache, dalvik-cache.
I remember one firmware gave me some errors about mounting and wiping stuff always fixed it.
I tried as you proposed but following message appears:
E: unknown volume for path [/data]
...
E: Unable process volume! Skipping...
Checking /cache...
Doesn't that mean that the necessary datas aren't there?
After wiping of all proposed things i tried to restart, but the blue beam under Galaxian still stops when it almost reached the end.
The main problem was Kies.
Phone couldn't be connected, so i couldn't fix the problem.
I just had to update the drivers so that the PC could connect to my little friend. Now it works
Thanks a lot for your help!!
Hi,
I've got the exact same problem.
Tried to flash Galaxian over Odin because my phone was in a boot loop. Then it just stuck when the Galaxian kernel "is now loading" screen appeared.
I can access Recovery and wiped data aswell as cache partition- then I just tried to flash Galaxian a second time with Odin but I have the same problem with the "is now loading" screen now.
Plus I updated Kies drivers.
What can I do? Im really not that experienced but I really NEED my phone!

[Q] Galaxy S won't boot: can't mount sdcard, mmcblk0p2

Hey,
A friend gave me his Galaxy S after another friend of him got it into this following state (I'm not sure what exactly he did or tried to do):
The phone is stuck in a boot loop, sometimes it shows the first frame of the boot animation for a second before booting again. When I start it in recovery mode (Android System Recovery (3e)) I get this error messages:
Code:
-- Copying media files...
E:failed to mount /sdcard (File exists)
E:copy_dbdata_media:can't mount /sdcard
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI menu
for format and reboot actions
The phone does not have an SD card in it.
After reflashing with the same firmware as original, I get these errors:
Code:
-- Copying media files...
E:failed to mount /sdcard (File exists)
E:copy_dbdata_media:can't mount /sdcard
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI menu
for format and reboot actions
meida files copy failed.
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Formatting /dbdata...
Formatting /cache...
Deleting Meta Data
Data wipe failed.
I've tried flashing different firmwares too, including rooted ones, and the results were the same except for a case where the first error was about not being about to mount mmcblk0p1 instead of sdcard, and another case where another firmware cause the phone to appear to boot, but after a minute or too it got stuck on a black screen and stopped responding.
I followed many different guides on how to fix similar problems, but none of them actually worked.
Please help, thanks a loooot in advance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134975
Maybe it will help?
Thanks for the reply. Solutions 1-3 are irrelevant, as I can get into download mode, but even after flashing, any version, the problem is still there. I tried solution 4 (dbdata flash), but it doesn't solve anything. Are there any other partitions I can flash and might be able to solve this?
Ok, next thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069867
Maybe here is solution?
Tried flashing the files there and no luck, still the same error. =/
I sent Faria, who said he has tools for solving this problem in that topic a PM, hopefully he'll share his tools with the community.
Meanwhile, I don't mind trying different solutions.
I also noticed something – if I keep the phone in the boot loop for a long time, it will eventually get to either a loop of the carrier boot animation (Which normally doesn't loop), or actually boot for one time. (When it booted I tried to power it off and see if it would boot again normally, and it didn't =/)
i have this kind of error few months ago, what i do was, flash pit file only with repartition, then flash pda, phone & csc.... agn flash this dbdata.rfs file, should fix the issue.
Just tried it, no luck, exactly the same error as before. =/
ops... sorry to heard that, at least it work for me but too bad not for u.....
I have the exact same error message and problem . Really hope someone can find a fix for this because I've spent hours and hours
Yep, EXACTLY same problem as OP and NO fixes for me yet. Tried everything from this thread and other threads. Let's see who's the real king of knowledge who can fix this.
any luck with this issue?
In my case it was solved by Click, but as in thread: for some people it works with repartition, while for some - without.
Or, try it Here I'd pay attention to page 2, Darky's resurrection... maybe looking for newer version at Darkyrom.

thank you spamtrash.
i tried all this various methods. i was able to boot into android but after reboot, it never got into android anymore. stuck in boot loops. ill try Darky's resurrection now, its the last option i havent tried yet. i cant believe there are no scripts or smth to fix and rebuild file system in such cases.

any update or fix?
Someone found any fix for this?
Yep!
Hi guys!
Yep - probably I found the solution. One month ago I have bought i9000 with this problem (as broken). Finally I managed to start that SGS and even install ICS on it. The problem is (as I suppose) that internal flash memory is broken and You have to move /data partition to external SD card. So some flashes, some changes in files and repartitioning of SD card does the thing.
Currenty I am in the middle of preparing a tutorial to be pushed on YT to show how I managed to solve the problem. Stay tuned
Best regards
this is a hope.. =)=)=) please send me a tutorial. thanks
Ready
So.
Finally I had some time to add voice recording to my movie and volia - is ready.
I hope it will help at least somehow.
I am not sure if this manual will help in Your case(s), but it might be at least a hint
Best regards
Fteller.
^ So, umm, where's the link for your YT video? Thanks.

Help! Install from zip problems

I'm kinda stuck now. Ever since I installed cm7 rc5.3 I cannot install from sd card - anything. It cannot open any file when I try to install an update and only message is (BAD) Installation Aborted. Therefore when I tried to install rc5.4 I couldn't!
I don't want to flash through odin again cos thats the whole point of not having to wipe data etc on this new rom (hopefully). Before anyone asks, yes I have tried to unmount and unmount sd card and also toggled signature verification etc etc

You know whether this works or not, its a fantastic idea. I will try and let you know!
Well flashed cwm 4 through odin with no results, however I think I already had cwm 4 anyway cos couldn't install cwm 5 because of same installation problem. However now it has allowed me to install cwm 5 and after reboot recovery still this same message with rc5.4
Code:
Finding update package. . .
Opening update package. . .
E: Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.2-RC5.4-GalaxyMini-Release-signed.zip(bad)
Installation aborted
I'm gonna try and redownload. Perhaps the download waas corrupted halfway through. I tried through a different sd card and still no results.
Edit* Think I've found the problem. I knew something was up as soon as I visited the download page. The 2 file sizes were completely different so something happened with the first download of rc5.4 so hopefully now (fingers crossed) everything should be fine! =)
Edit2* However it's not all fine. When I downloaded, it only downloaded 95.2mb instead of 95.3mb and the last time it downloaded it only downloaded 33.9mb. Does anyone have the full file perhaps they can upload elsewhere?? Please, I've been waiting a week to flash this =(
so i think cwm is not responsible for the error the problem is you have not downloaded the package properly
ok to find the problem delete maket, youtube app and try to flash gapps package after mounting system and data if the package get installed then cwm is ok. and redownload the package

you can do
-wipe data
-wipe cache
-install zip from sd
-choose the zip of the CM7 rc5.3
then try to flash again the cm7 rc5.4
Kilobyte differences may not mean a file is corrupted. Try comparing the checksums of the file with software like this:

your idea of checking md5sum is good but donot unestimate a single kb suppose if the update binary is not there then cwm will not install the package

[Q] HELP! :( Semi Bricked. Tried EVERYTHING

Ok
Please forgive me I have spent up to 7 hours today searching and trying but to no luck.
So I didnt realise what i was doing and Semi Bricked my Phone. I edited build.prop and saved it in MyExplorer(name?) to try and turn off the camera sounds and when I rebooted, it just gets stuck on the galaxy S 2 screen, boot loop.
I'm on SGSII (Australia) Stock Vodafone's ICS 4.0.3 Rooted.
I have CWM installed but tried a few things:
- I can get into Download MOde (no idea what to do here)
- I can get into CWM mode 5.0.2.7 Recovery mode but cant do anything still.
- I tried various Edify script builders to try and put the original build.prop back in but get multiple Status 0 errors whenever I try update.zip from the SD card.
- I tried rebuilding the backup on there and changing the build.prop file on there and trying to restore but MD5 check fails. Even tried rebuilding the MD5 file with the modified files and still no luck. MD5 files fails.
Would anyone have any suggestions and how to resolve this without a flash or wipe? I didnt back recent backup and will lose everything.
I am coming to a point where I really am wanting to back to Apple
There are 2 build.props attached. One is the bad one that stopped me from booting up and I found another one that was named .bak (extension taken off) I found in the same directory (/SYSTEM)
If anyone can help me build an update.zip to push in via CVM I would greatly be in your debt (I tried for 4 hours with no luck)
If you have recovery and download mode yet nothing is lost.
In first, do saved your apps ?
If you had saved them or if it doesn't matter to you, reflash a rom via recovery
LINK HERE:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/jenkins/2773/cm-9-20120615-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip
Flash it GoogleApps folder
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip
The rom that I attached to the reply is a CM9 ICS version, it's quitly stable and we can have some settings on it.
If it doesn't work reflash with Odin (it's with software who use the Download Mode)
http://hotfile.com/dl/149514867/aea2f22/I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXALPQ_XEO.zip.html
Instructions
-Unzip the Rom Folder ( I9100XXLPQ..........)
-Open the included Odin
-Put your phone on Download Mode
-Click PDA and select I9100_CODE_I9100XXKP*_CL*_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
-Click PHONE and select MODEM_I9100XX*_REV_02_CL*.tar.md5
-Click CSC and GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXA*.tar.md5
-Click Start and don't touch anything still the colored case become green
-And now your phone resurrects
Reply me of results
thanks for your reply
unfortunately i didnt save my apps and havent got backups of my data either
i cant reach the file via ADB either, when i run ADB (have KIES installed and worked before) - adb devices.
nothing shows up when the phone is stuck on "Samsung GS2" screen.
do you have any recommendations around keeping my data there?
If you find the exact same software your on now to download you could try flashing that in cwm without wipes I think that would work i think it replaces all system stuff so it will work, worth a try

what if i just want to flash build.prop via update.zip?
i tried so many methods but it always fails. is anyone able to create a update.zip for me?
i used a GUI script creator to try and update it via CWM recovery mode but it doesnt seem to like it.
If i turn off signature verification, it gives me a (status 0) error saying : E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip
and if i turn on verification toggle, it says E: signature verification failed
can anyone help?

Can you mount any sd on your pc, because you can the recovery mount trick to access to your data.
When you are in the recovery menu, go to mount and storage and click on "mount usb storage" and the internal and external sd will appear on your pc.
you are posting in galaxy s thread....repost in galaxy s2 thread
I don't think so but then again I don't own a s2 but you can select advanced restore: restore data then flash a compatible ROM, then restore the data if you worried but as I said before flashing the same ROM shouldn't remove user data

After installing aroma guestekrnL phone only boots to CWM

Hello
I've tried installing guestekrnL on WIUI. When installing guestekrnL, the only thing I've ticked extra that was other than defaults was:
"Activate init.d functionality and convert file system to EXT4?
- yes
select if init.d is not working yet or if you don't know"
Well, after reboot WIUI was screaming that my sd card is broken and format may help. It formatted it, but it still didn't work. So I've rebooted to recovery via option in power dialog in order to restore old firmware. However there's a problem now: CWM Touch says that it can't write logs to /cache. Mounting /cache, /data or /emmc from recovery doesn't work, only /system and /sdcard are mounting correctly. I've tried BackToExt3 with no luck. I've tried wiping it many times, with no luck. My phone only boots now to CWM. I can't flash stock via APX mode, because I have broken USB port in my phone. What can I do?
Does restoring a backup, flashing a zip file or wiping work?
Ok, I was searching for almost whole hour now and it seems it's a problem with partition table. Fixing can be done via zip, but I need some dumps. First one from "cat /proc/mounts" and second from "parted".
Here's the zip for nook color if someone wants to do that for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759558

Unfortunately, it needs USB. I need to flash it via existing recovery.
Mounting problems occur on some zips using touch recovery . Change cwm to non touch 5.0.2.8. But hey, did you flash a stock kernel on wiui ? you need another kernel, like etana, symbiosis.....or just use the one shipped with rom
