[Q] IMEI Missing S-9000. - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rooted, My friends Galaxy S, installed Cyanogen mod, noticed it was running slow, so tried wiping stuff in the recovery, i am a noobie myself, but having done the rooting on 5-6 phones now thought i was smart and i think i wiped the boot.
The phone had bricked. I gave it to a local repair guy, he somehow managed to get it working, but theres no IMEI now, sim not working and stuff.
I think i can get the IMEI from the back of the phone
My qustions are:-
1. Can the IMEI be put back in
2. If so, What softwares, files to i need to get, any links would be very much appreciated
3. Does it matter what region the phone belongs to? (I am from INDIA but the phones not. I think its Korean, it showed "Samsung Anycall" during Bootup)
Thanks

First Check your IMEI here When you are not sure what model is your device.
if its SHW M110S use Unbricking the Korean Galaxy S [SHW M110S] and you will have an out of the box unit.ith everything functioning than use PIT STOP to flash the latest gingerbread WF07 ROM or a customized version , the only stable ROM for this unit.
if its i9000 use [Tutorial] How to Unbrick, Flash, Downgrade, Root, Update i9000 from Froyo to Kit Kat should be good to go.

[Q] Can not register on network problem

Since a few days it is impossible to use my Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 as a phone. Whenever i try using it, it doesnt register on the network.
I am running DarkyROM JVH v10.1 baseband version I9000XXJVO Firmware 2.3.3
If i try to register on the network is searches and searches and searches... but doesnt find anything.
What "worries" me is the fact that when i start up the phoe is tells me its a Samsung Galaxy S II, which it surely isnt!
Please advice.

There is your problem..
Re-flash stock firmware with pit and re-partition, When complete, check you can register on the network.
If so then avoid the ROM which you are currently running.
EDIT: When you say the phone says Galaxy S II, Is this not a boot animation taken from the SGS II ? Or is it the actual boot screen which says its a SGS II ?
Call me stupid ;-) but i didnt save my stock-rom....

No problem.
Head over to www.samfirmware.com and grab one from there, flash it through odin, Instructions are on that site too.
Thanks AzzleDazzle, but now comes up another problem.... Probably very basic, but for me, its all abracadabra.
I have an European Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000, but if i look at the site there are many roms u can download. From Android 2.1 to Android 2.3.4 for "my" device. Which is the one i should use? My ID is I9000XWJVH, which is according to the site an unknown H version.
Please advice once more, thanks in advance!
No worries, Make sure you download a firmware specifically for the I9000
the last 3 letters eg JVH is the firmware version, JV.X. represents gingerbread 2.3.3 and above.
Gingerbread is the latest release, so i would go for one of them, The one at the bottom of the page on samfirmware will be the very latest, Which i think is JVR
So look for I9000XXJVR.
flash that in ODIN and job done you should be back up and running and with the latest release.
The rest is upto you . i.e going to a custom ROM / rooting ect...
i feel more and more like a noob....
I started Odin, and there u can choose for the pit file, or for the pda file (which is the one i should use i guess), but also u have the choices of re-partition auto reboot and f. reset time. Which of those 3 (or non at all) i should use?
I dont know what has happened. I choose for only reboot after flashing. Flashing went okay, but now it seems to be stuck in a loop. The Galaxy S screen gets followed up by a Swisscom screen in a seemingly endless loop.
Worse, with volume down - power on i can not come in the download menu anymore...
Any advice would be much appreciated now.....
Also when trying a re-partitioning via Odin it doesnt work?
Found the solution. Using Odin 1.8 did the trick. I used Odin 1.3 which probably couldnt flash the 2.3.4, while when i tried with Odin 1.8 it worked flawlesly.
Thanks for your help!

Galaxy i9000 (korean) IMEI & Base band lost!

I got korean Galaxy s ,i flash it ,now i cant get calls ,because no network, (IMEI and base band is missing ) Please help me to fix it !
Restore your EFS backup, you did back it up didn't you? Or try flashing back to stock. Plenty of threads and info on restoring IMEI.
i don't know how to do it.please help me to get back my IEMI and Baseband
There are a lot of threads out there, with the same problem. You should have do some reading before you flash anything!! Because the first thing you have to do, is make a backup of your efs folder!!

Imei / Baseband problem - Solution can be here!
I hade same problem. No baseband , no Imei.
I tried to flash all roms: 2.1 , 2.2, 2.3
Even Samsung service center tried. No way!
Solution:
I got all back when I flased to; DarkyRom black edition v 11 android 4.0.4 ICS:laugh:
For Korean Version, you should only Flash Korean ROM's found at PIT STOP link below, and to solve IMEI, baseband problems use M110S repair Kit, also same link below
I also would like to get an pm regarding restoring imei/baseband/efs. Mine is ok in stock but anything other I have to put it on charge to get baseband+imei+service but then I ll get random reboot and am back to square one.
I digged aroung my nv_data.bin in hex editor and found out my product code is Korean even though sticker under battery says it`s XEU. Does anyone know how much samsung charges to have it reflashed?

If your phone is Korean, it will have a TV and an Antenna on the right top corner, and in about Phone it will known as SHW M110S, If this is not present your unit is i9000 . All samsung phones are made in Korea and can be considered Korean But only the M110s and i9000B has a DMB TV + Radio , all others have Radio only.
So verify first your unit as M110S ROMS are NOT compatible with i9000
for IMEI problems, visit My Android Solutions, link below BUT IF your phone is M110S than visit PIT STOP, link below

No Way! unless something goes wrong in flashing process(which have very slim chances on that) your efs data safe... I think this guy got a STOLEN PHONE. Most of the thiefs do it because they dont want to get traced.. Its a scammy world. I seriously doubt that this guy is even from SRI LANKA

[Q] Where could I find a GT-I9000T rom without network lock screen?

Hi
first, I had rooted my device with a update zip after fixed recovery mode that I found here on xda, and installed busybox, galaxsim unlock app, titanium back up and so on.
I did these on a stock rom android 2.1 update of claro provider but when I tried to use a different company sim, the screen with a padlock appeared.
Second, I flashed with odin the rom after I had downloaded 3 Buttons fix RazvanG, I installed firmware 2.3.3 with base band I9000TUBJV8, and 2.6.35.7-I9000TUBJV8-CL251862 kernel, also I rooted with super one click tool that I found here on xda, and I installed busybox, galaxsim unlock app etc.
but nothing happened I got the padlock or network lock despite the fact the app says the network lock is OFF .
At the end also almost brick my device when I flashed just a bootloader.
The device still works just with claro provider.
Finally I really want to know Where could I find a GT-I9000T rom without network lock screen a good kernel, and modem, that I could root it?
Thank you for your time I really appreciate it.

These are the ROM's released by Samsung for i9000T based on regions, your main issue would be the modem that connects to claro or the network you want, meaning you can use an i9000 or i9000T 2.3.6 ROM and flash the modem for your region and it should work for you, unless you have a contract phone that is bootloader locked.
look here for guide, you can try ( at your own risk) flashing i9000 bootloader with i9000 ROM with i9000T modem ( you must have back up to restore, if it fails ) to get back to your stock again. EFS Backup is a must have before flashing , look here for guide

Thank you, I can use other sim.
Well, what I have done:
1. I tried to use other rom from your first link for gt-i9000t 2.3.6 but just change the company's logo. I think, I had a a contract phone.
2. I used odin to install a rom from the same site for GT-I9000 2.3.6 (OPS-I9000XWJW6-20120430154616 certainly I just tried with this rom)and the modem from my last Rom the MODEM_I9000TUBJV8_CP_PHONE_CL1006697.tar. And there is, the device is working fine, It did not give the screen with padlock.
Thank you.

[URGENT] Flash wrong model firmware on phone

So I recently got a I9000 from a friend. It was on android 2.3.4 and it baseband was I9000ZSJZ, already rooted but had no CWM. I wanted to upgrade the OS to 2.3.6 and add the CWM to the phone but I could not found a thread in the Android Development that contain firmware. So I search the internet and ended up in the Galaxy S Captivate. The thread said if I had normal bootloader with I9000 logo I should flash the one with the AT&T bootloader. I thought those two were the same so I use Odin to flash the latest one with CWM. When it boot, my phone was very laggy, it has no Baseband, the back button turn into the home button and the home button does nothing. I don't see the signal bar and everytime I tried to plug my phone to PC it always automatically turn off. :crying: Can anyone know how to fix this problem??? I can still enter the CMW mode and download mode, and I have tried flashing another firmware with baseband I9000 but still no luck. Anyone can help???:crying:

If you can enter CWM that means there should not be such a big problem.
Just get the ROM for i9000 (make sure you don't have i9001) and flash it, but before that, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and go to advanced and delete dalvik cache.

Thanks for the reply. After flashing vibrant bootloader before flashing the i9000 rom I was able to fix most of the problem but the Baseband number still gone and there was no network connection. Maybe because of region lock since I flash a Hong Kong region i9000 stock rom. Could anyone provide a Vietnam region firmware. Thanks in advance

Just flash CyanogenMod, it's better than any stock Android out there, plus you will have Android 4.4. Go to www.cyanogenmod.org and follow the instructions.
PS: Do you have Samsung Vibrant or Samsung Galaxy GT-i9000? Because if you have Galaxy S GT-i9000 and flash Samsung Vibrant software on it, it will just mess up with your phone. Althought they look the same, they have different harware inside.

I'm not sure. I got it from a friend and when I flash the one for Samsung Captivate the Baseband turn to Unknown and cause many bug. After flashing Vibrant bootloader and a Hong Kong region stock rom I got from samsung-updates.com, most of the problem was fixed. So you are saying if I flash CM 9/10/11, my baseband will be back?
From what I know, the modem file is integrated in CM, so yes.
If you want a HK baseband, you can flash it separately. Basebands are independent from ROM, but always flash ROM made specifically for your phone model.

I thought each phone have their individual baseband integrate in them and flashing rom have baseband integrate in them doesn't change your baseband. I have already flash to different CM rom on my phone (ICS) and my baseband is still unknown. Do you have any other suggestion?

First determine your device model by checking its IMEI ( written under battery) look under "Be Sure First" in [Tutorial] How to Unbrick, Flash, Downgrade, Root, Update i9000 from Froyo to Kit Kat
when you are sure its i9000 than use the unbricking guide or read How to Solve EFS problems, if its not i9000 search under "Find your device" search engine on top and use that guide and forum.

THANKS A TON !
Now i could successfully on 2.3.6 but with little discomfort as listed below
1) After the New ROM flash I saw lot of Korean (language) applications though i set language/Text to English Mode
I was unable to "un-install/Remove" them
Ex: "T-service", "T-store" "T-map" "June Content Box" "OVJET" etc a lot
2) Most Important one is in My Dial Pad now i do see key pad with Numbers + some korean key symbols
& now there are 2 dial options a) TO KOREA b)TO GLOBAL
This is also Annoying Please help me
3) Now if i try to dial *#06# using "TO GLOBAL" i get "UNKNOWN APPLICATION"
Why I dont see an IMEI number now ?
If i try using "TO GLOBAL" it gives message like i dont have ISD facility to call out of country (as i did not enable)
I was wondering it is USSD code not the dial code
I just suspect after New ROM flash I have not wiped the data (reason i'm not sure on how to do on new settings)
4) Earlier I was having Lidroid Running now I dont have Lidroid ( Is that OKAY)
You quick reposnse would be again appreciable here (as usual :fingers-crossed: )
5) Also one more thing i had taken complete copy of my DATA (just copy paste entire structure)
How do I add back (contacts, Message threads, Call Logs Photos , WahtsUp infor etc)
6) Similarly which other Higher Versions could Flash to Successfully on this Mobile (is it only 2.3.6 ?)
Regards
Raj

All your questions had been answered and solution's given in PIT STOP, if you won't bother to read and learn, you should not be in XDA, as here we give you a fishing rod and teach you how to catch fish, not catch fish for you.
Hope you understand. :fingers-crossed: Its for your own good.

Hi
Sorry for once again Questions on this
I had just gone through once very in-detailed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573023
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28174768&postcount=4774
& some other given by you
I have repeated same repair & flashing new ROM (pointed by you) , but still i do see all above same (IMIE i s"UNKNOWN APPLICATION" but my phone is working , lot of chinese/korean applications & keypad etc along with English since i had choose English text)
Now I just wanted to ask
So is there any other alternate ROM (second best ) to resolve above issues ?
How about
BBANANA WF07 Ultimate Edition Website & ScreenShots New
But it has many files & Screen shots does not open on how to input them
Would give some light here
Thanx
Raj
