network problem. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I dropped my Xperia z a few weeks back and cracked its back glass panel. since then the network has been very bad until recently I dropped it again and magically it started working fine again.
then I dropped it again (facepalm) and the network is bugging me again.
Does anyone know where the antenna is located so I can try to hit it slowly on antenna again and hopefully get it working?

I had a very similar problem after replacing the screen, and it seemed that for me it was a poorly connecting GPS antenna. I pulled the antenna out and wiped the terminals and put it back in, and it helped. (It is having problems again, but I'm still working out why this time).
Similar issue was discussed in this post.

Poor WiFi reception after fitting new back panel.

Hello. I replaced my entire back panel, not just the back battery cover. I did it manually myself by removing the screws and fitting in the new panel and then putting the screws back together.
But now I have poor WiFi reception. I am sitting next to the router and getting disconnected constantly.
Is there anything that I might have done wrong? I even screwed in the screw tightly.
The panel was bought from the local shop.
Normal mobile networks seems fine and unaffected.
Bump, please help guys, the device is being unusable. :crying:
I even tried refitting the back panel and even turning on WiFi when the entire back panel was open, even then I had low WiFi signal. Please help.

Have you tried installing a new radio software? There's one around here but I'm not sure where or if it's the correct fix.

I really doubt if this is a software issue.
Okay for those of you out there who might have a similar issue, it seems the antenna on the new back panel seems to be damaged so I had to get a new back panel.

Note 4 Wifi problem

I recently got my note 4 screen replaced. While i was using the phone while still cracked the Wi-Fi worked fine. After getting my phone from the repair shop, the s pen was glued inside the phone , the screen was slightly popping out and the Wi-Fi was messed up. I couldn't get any signal unless im very close to my Wi-Fi router. I take the phone back to the repair shop and explained everything. Once I got the phone back, everything was fixed but the Wi-Fi problem was still there. I tried factory resetting the phone but that didn't work. I would like a solution to this. Thanks.

To me it sounds like the repair shop owes you a new phone ha. No seriously though, if you had all those issues after the first repair, especially the glued spen, I would to the phone back and make damn sure I didn't leave until it was exactly the way it was when you took it except with a shiny new screen.

XZ3 WIFI and Network connection problem

Hi Guys, could you please help me out? A few weeks ago my XZ3 started to act weird. It working perfectly, and after a random time, suddenly its losing both the wifi and mobile network connection (bluetooth is OK). Sometimes a simple restart solves this, but other times its not helping. I tried factory reset, but the problem still occurs. Could it be somehow software related or it must be a harware issue? Any information could help a lot! Thank your very much in advance.

issue may be in chipset so repairing is hard.
I gave it to seller then he sent me another xz3 phone.
now I don't have such issue.
I think it is a manufacturing issue, few phones has this same issue in all Xperia models like xz2,xz3, xperia 1....

i got it fixed from a local repair shop. The issue is caused due to some loose components on the motherboard. There are a bunch golden pins around the edges of the main board, the repair guy called them "signal boosters". i don't know what they're actually called. They're all connected to two main signal boosters right in the middle of the motherboard.
UPDATE: it's the plastic middle frame of the phone!! i finally figured it out.

I'm sorry it wasn't the middle frame either. the issue came back after a couple of weeks, mostly when phone got hot under heavy use. i figured when i pushed hard on the side of the phone where sim card lies, the phone would lose signal for a sec or two and then come back to normal
I finally managed to fix my phone somehow it hasn't dropped signal even once in two months. i haven't been able to pinpoint what exact component is malfunctioning that's why I'm going to list every little thing i did..
it's definitely one of the metal contact points on the edges of the motherboard near the sim card tray that connect with the phones casing to boost the wifi and 4g signal. i put a small piece of medical tape on top of each contact point near the sim card tray to completely block them off. ( I've marked in the attaced pic exactly which contact points you have to block )
I've also removed the plastic dummy sim holder that sits just below sim card tray to fill the gap between metal sim holder and phones body. put a piece of paper medical tape there instead. put a small piece of paper in the top right corner of phone housing so that motherboard would stay a little above the housing when you screw it (see pic)
make sure motherboard screws aren't too tight
Don't worry it has little to no effect on phones signal reception, you're only blocking the sub antenna

So what you did at the end?
Any update on the matter?
I was able to partially solve my problem with my phone, I took out the black antenna frame and very carefully placed transparent scotch tape (because it´s thinner than medical tape) in all the contacts that are marked in red in the atached picture but now I´m thinking that I shouls have placed tape also on the places marked with green.
So what change I experienced on my phone with this method?
well the phone now has Network and wifi signal all the time and very ocassionaly it does lose the network and wifi signal for a second but when this happen the phone does not say that there is no sim card and does not freeze and restart, it just recovers signal by itself and I can continue using the phone.
