I'm looking for a Rom with -
Crt effect on and off,
customizable notification bar, toggles with torch/wifi hotspot,
call recording
working Snote (this I want but its not a deal breaker)
Can anyone guide me to a rom that does this please?
Hi,
CRT off is not working properly, if its working at all on any JB rom till now. Regarding the rest
Check out the SVA rom
Ultimate rom
Ive tried ultimateRom, its seems to be half finished, I've settled on svu rom, it seems complete.

On my ICS Kingdroid 7.4 ROM I have all the features you are looking for working like a charm. But it's ICS though.
Yeah that's one great rom.
I now use AllianceRom, all its missing is wifi tethering notification bar toggle
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Doesn't wifi tether from the play store work.
Wifi tethering works through the settings menu, I'm after the toggle for the notification bar
And unrelated im looking for popup browser with flash player, nobody seems to have ever mentioned it, I can't be the only 1 to think it would be awesome?

I'll thank you now, I've only just seen your post.
I've settled on Alliance Rom beta 1.1, it's only missing hotspot and torch toggles that I care about. Home button torch, volume rocker, snote, erm..... tired cant think haha almost everything I want works
I go away a week on monday for 6 months (no, not prison haha) so I'm kind of hoping come June/July Official JB would have been released and been all dev'd up by then. For the sake of a week I think I'm going to stay on Alliance, feel free to keep adding recommendations though guys. If you come across a Rom that has all 6 listed below add it here, the more the merrier
1. Volume Skip Track,
2. Hotspot, Torch Toggles,
3. Home Button Lockscreen Torch,
4. S Note/Suite by the summer hopefully lol,
5. Resizeable Windows,
6. CRT Effect On/Off without bugs....
Untill next time, Peace out

Title says it all really. Is it possible to add apps to pie controls? I've seen pictures, but can't find out how from anywhere.

So I have to use that. That's all I wanted to know, just thought it would be more efficient to use the one that was already there if possible.
Whats the big deal with the pie control? Its almost useless , you can use your button to navigate, sliding on the edge of the screen and using it almost same with the existing physical button is making your life too complicated

Hard to reach back button one handed on Note for me at least, so I find it very nice to use.

What about phones which do not have physical buttons?
What can I do to speed up the camera launch speed. It takes around 5 seconds to launch which is terrible. And please don't suggest I use a 3rd party app.

Sad to say but theres nothing you can do to fix that,,,,
But there is another way to capture photos fast by just clicking the volume down button even if the acree is turned off. , goto the android development section and look for the tiopic called, ( camera mod fast capture enable)
sent from my white xperia z
Or just try to update last firmware. There this problem is solved.

There is currently no fix for this issue, but I'm sure future updates will fix it.
BUT: There is a mod in the mod section that allows you to quickly capture images with volume up

I'm not running the latest firmware and and I'm not sure if the mod will work. A lot if people are reporting the camera app disappearing and that's a risk I'm not willing to take. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Can I update with a custom recovery using pc companion? I'm also rooted.

Update: received an update and the camera is much faster at launching now. Not the fastest but definitely an improvement.
However, I lost root and my custom recovery. Oh well. The sacrifice was worth it.

If you use a launcher like Nova you could use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40084488. It gives a bit faster startup, but only in Superior auto.

I've also realised that the update made my navigation and status bar black by default. =D

Hey guys, its known that the sp has the same floating touch hardware as xperia sola. Sadly sony installed chrome as default browser wich doesnt support hovering. Can anyone of you install next browser or opera to test weather hovering over a link gives you a mouseover?
Also try weather hiverring on flipboard works like on sgs4. Please report here!

NO NO NO!!
Dont use that! Thats for gingerbread it will mess up your phone! What we are talking about is using the phone without touching the screen. This is included in the xperia sp already, no need for any mod i will give you instructions how to do that:
-make sure glovemod is enabled
-go to the lockscreen and hover over the screen a little bit, not to close and not to far away from it
-if you see the screen recognizing any touch keep that distance and try to unlock your phone without touching it
-enjoy using your screen without touching it
I come from the sola thats why i know that, the sola was the first device to feature glovemode, it came with the ics update.

Ah, that explains why glove mode didn't work after unlocking without gloves. That confused me a bit.
And yeah, Chrome doesn't recognize it as a hover. I'll try some other browsers...

I tested this on a couple of browsers (Boat, Chrome, Dolphin, Firefox, Next, Opera) and as far as I see the glove mode "hover" is simply interpreted as a single touch (opening the link) or long press (selecting text, giving options for opening in new tab, etc.).
The only browser that gave me a mouseover text (well, part of it anyway) on an image was Firefox.

Wait a minute. You tested this after following my instructions above right? You didnt get me. The instructions where for how you can use your phone without touching the screen, everywhere in every app with floating touch interpreted as single touch.
But when it comes to the browser hovering dont do that. Test the browsers with unlocking your screen normal, then hovering should be interpreted as mouseover on browsers that support it.
I guess i am gonna write a F.A.Q about Floating touch.

Huh, okay. I misunderstood then. Still, after unlocking the screen normally it didn't work either.
Anyway, I've just had a look at the Sony support forums and the question if the SP has Floating Touch has been answered that it doesn't. It has glove mode instead.
So it's not the browsers' fault after all.

Can anybody tell me how to disable soft. keys on my phone cause i dont like it :/
And what is best, to use pie control after that or?How to make something simmilar like on pac rom ?
Thanks!
Have you tried looking for the answer before posting ? I think you should take a look at the answer Google can give you ! If this doesn't help the words you are looking for are "remove navigation bar"
For pie control the option I once used was lmt launcher but maybe there are better options now. I think there are many versions on the play store.
