Hello there,
I've got a problem after installing the custom Rom alliance v2.3
I came from ripper Rom v20 which is based on Android 4.1.2 and everything was fine there.
Yesterday I installed alliance. I made it with the instruction guide in the alliance thread. That means I downloaded Rom customizer and twrp.
I wanted to use Rom customizer but when I pushed flash then I was gone to recovery mode. Then I did it directly with twrp and alliance was installed.
But now I have two directories for the intern storage. I think one from 4.1.2 and one for 4.3.
What can I do now to solve this problem?
My idea was to wipe the s3 lte completely. A complete system wipe and a factory reset. Should I do a boot format too? After the OS is gone and boot ist formatted can I flash the alliance Rom to my phone? With PC or directly on the phone, if possible? So that nothing from any old versions is left on the phone and a fresh alliance can be installed.
Sorry for my bad English. My school English is ten 8 years ago.
Thanks in advance
In recovery mounts and storage format system sdcard data and cache .
Phone is now blank boot to download mode flash stock rom via Odin .
Or from ext sdcard flash custom rom .
Thank you.
I will try it today.
Is it normal that when you go from 4.1.2 to 4.3 that user data is left on the phone but can't be reached through a Explorer? When I start in cwm and click flash from SD card I can choose my new storage and the old storage from before the update. When I start normally then I see only the best storage, doesn't matter which path I click. So now I . can't delete everything left from before the update.
Will this be gone after formatting data and SD card with cwm?
I thought with Odin you can only flash .tar files and no .zip files like alliance? What have I to do to get this working?

Hi all,
I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong place but as a newbie I cannot post in the thread of the ROM I have trouble with.
So, atm I'm trying to flash Alliance ROM Final ICS to my N7000 but I'm having some troubles with it. I have followed all of the instruction correctly, I have tried installing it either via ROM Customizer or CWM.
With ROM Customizer: when I was trying to flash the zip file then the phone reboot and takes me to the recovery window with error notification.
With CWM: After flashing the kernel (I tried both with Speedmod 3-13 and also Hydracore 4.3b STD), reboot to recovery, wipe data/factory, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik, and then flash the ROM zip file. The ROM installed and says it finish. Then I choose go back and reboot the system. However, instead of continuing to install and to show Alliance bootanimation, the ROM that actually loaded is my old ROM which is Chrack 14 (also with Chrack bootanimation).
So basically, even though it looks like that the ROM successfully being installed, the fact is it failed. It looks like that this Chrack ROM very persistent to be uninstalled from my phone
Do you guys have any ideas what's happening here and what could be the problem?
FYI, my current ROM is Chrack 14 with Speedmod 3-13 as the kernel.
I really need your help guys. Believe me, I won't hesitantly ask you questions if I haven't read and follow instruction which are given by the developer of the ROM about how to install it correctly.:cyclops:
Really appreciate any inputs or solutions for my problems.
Thanks in advance guys.
boot into recovery and go to mounts and storage > then format system, data and cache. this will clear up the old rom. then try to install Alliance again.
Note: this will erase the system partition and there will be no rom to boot with if the install of new rom failed. so make sure you put all the required files in the phone before doing the formats. also to be extra prepared another rom may be.
Thanks for the reply. Uhm, what's the risk should it failed to flash the new ROM? And what will be the solution should it really fails at the end?
Is there any other safer options and maybe anyone can explain the possibilities that causing my current problem?
Also what do you mean by "the required files" here? And where i should put the files? In the internal memory or sd card?
Sorry for the noob questions.:banghead:

Not much.. only you need to install a different rom or boot into download mode and flash a stock rom using PC odin

Hello,
I just ran through format on data, sdcard, preload, cache, etc and noticed that CMW do not have "Mount USB". Long time ago when i flashed roms on another phone i just went inside and mounted the storage from there. Thou back then i had a SD card.
Anyhow, my question is:
Is there any other way to flash Paranoid into the phone without having the ZIP on the phone? Like using Odin to flash the rom from the computer through download mode instead?
I got CF Autoroot + CWM installed.
Thanks in advance

No you need to install ROMs from internal storage or SD card.
However there is 1 thing.........IF YOU HAVE I9305 DO NOT FLASH PARANOID ANDROID!!!!
This is intended for i9300, you will brick your phone.
Only flash ROMs from the i9305 section.

Hi guys
this is my first post and I hope you guys can help me,I already searched the forum for similar problem but no luck
I installed Ultimate_N7000_LSZ_JB_4.1.2_v5.2 ROM and it was perfect for the 1st day then I realized that my phone keep restarting on its own when the screen is off, sometimes at 30 mins interval or even more.the phone don't show the boot screens.the screen will always be off when this happens.I also noticed that this doesn't happen when my phone is charging
another problem I'm facing is at times when i try to unlock my phone it stays black for a while until it can respond
a third problem is when I unlock my phone it will show in the status bar the message "sd card was removed unexpectedly" and then say "preparing sd card" .then it won't show the contents either in the gallery or the music player but I can still access them from file explorer
sometimes when it restarts i get a code on the status bar instead of the service provider (pic provided)
before I installed this Rom I was on official JB UAE version which I flashed using Odin and then I rooted my phone using PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-4.89.4
I wiped everything before installing it,Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik.Format /data /system and /preload
please help me urgently
test with the SD card removed.. also try another battery... the code could be the code of the provider and name not being displayed.. if all ok go back to stock rom after all wipes and formats and test again

before I installed this ROM I had no problem at all.the only problem I had was draining battery and wakelocks
I'll try using it without the sd card
but what about the restarts???????
not sure. i have used that rom for a while and didnot face that problem.. are yu sure you did not have that restart issue when on stock rom? try flashing another rom will check if the downloaded rom has issues or not..
I'm sorry but I'm new to all of this.this is my 1st ROM ever
so I can flash any official JB ROM through Odin on top of this custom ROM after wiping everything? and then install the custom ROM again?

I'm 100% sure i didn't have that problem before.
Yes. After flashing the stock rom, you will need to root it and get CWM. best will be to flash Philz kernel to root it.. then you can get back to custom rom again..
before you flash the stock rom boot into recovery (Philz recovery)
- Choose Wipe Data > Clean before install a new rom. (this will clean the rom. and phone will not boot after this step as there will be no rom)
- Advanced > reboot download > connect to pc and use odin to flash the rom

so if i flash an official Rom i'll lose the root?
does it matter what official JB ROM i use?
should I use the same Philz Kernel I used before to root the phone?or there is a better version?
Yes after flashing using odin you will loose root. Flash Philz kernel for JB close to the rom you installed like DDLSC or XXLSZ
The reason for your problems could be a defective sd card. Does the error persist without the card?

Seems like ur sd card is dead. You can also try a clean install of the new rom LT4 since it is a bit better than all the previous crappy jb release =)
thank you guys
I removed my sd card since yesterday, and since then everything is fine.no restarts or battery drainage.the ROM works like a charm
I'll try to format it and see what happens. unless it's corrupt for good
I really appreciate ur help.big thanks :good:
Thanks again for ur great help
the problem is completely solved,I formatted my sd card and everything is working fine.the ROM is awesome.better battery life and very smooth
THANKS
Hi all.
I am currently running ripper rom v13 with CWM and I wish to COMPLETELY wipe the contents of my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE back to bare minimum without damaging partitions that are delicate.
I have tried performing a factory reset under SETTINGS. This left files/folders/photographs when browsing the phone.
I have performed a wipe via CWM, deleted data, system, davlik and cache partitions. This left files and folders as above.
After wiping the phone via the two methods above, I flashed ripper rom v13 rom and after booting I ran through the setup options (choose wireless etc), yet I still have folders remaining relating to OLD apps that I have removed or no longer need.
How can this be?
I have discovered there is a MegaWipe zip but this is not compatible with the 19305T - are there alternatives that I have missed?
Is this something to do with the internal SD card? Have I not wiped this? HELP!
CWM recovery mounts and storage .
Format sd card system cache data and preload .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom .

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply. If I boot to download mode and flash stock rom, how do I do this? I've never performed this before. Do I have to flash stock rom? Can't I pick the ripper rom v13 again if I place it in ext sd card?
Sorry for so many questions!
There is a Mod called "Make Lite Rom" in the Update Me>Add/Remove Applications app that comes with the Ripper ROM. Not too sure if you want this.
Alternatively, there are other ROMs which are stock Android Based (I have tried Sentinel for a few hours).

Hi JJE,
I did as you said, I flashed the stock ROM using Odin and then went through the procedure of installing CWM and rooting.
I am now back into the Telstra stock ROM and all works fine, yet there are still remains of old apps in the phone??? I can see a friendcaster folder
and GO folders...yet before I flashed the stock ROM I did a full wipe.
I downloaded the stock ROM from Sammobile - Could it be that I need a full wipe ROM instead?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

What Do you mean by "keeps restarting" Bro, Is it stuck on the bootanimation?
If your phone doesn't get pass boot animation and reboots, then there's only one way to fix it. Your personal files and data would be gone but I'm sure it's backed up with your google account. Watch this and follow the instructions. Installing a stock firmware using ODIN. Hope it helped

Are you currently using a stock rom or a custom rom? Anyway you can solve this problem by just flashing back the stock rom using odin. Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin along with all firmwares and drivers (check the "Preparations" section),
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
If your PC cannot recognize the phone, its usually the drivers. Once installed, go to recovery mode (hold power+ Home button) and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace. Just flash them from the recovery mode (choose "install zip from sdcard" and then select the zip file from sdcard).

The Apocalypse you are referring to is the custom rom that is installed in your phone. When you bought you phone, you had Samsung's version of Froyo/ Gingerbread installed in your phone. That rom is called stock rom. Custom roms are build by developers using cyanogen mod sources. Now you keep having restarts and since clearing data and cache from CWM didn't solve it, I suggest you install another rom. Now this is where you have to make a choice. You can either install a stock rom (stable, nice battery backup, etc) or a custom rom (fast, performance oriented, customizable, etc). Before you do install another rom, backup all app data using Titanium Backup. If you choose Stock rom, then follow my previous post on how to install stock rom on your phone. Now if you choose custom rom, then first we need to update CWM 4 to CWM 5.
CWM 5.0.2.6 fix for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Download the CWM 5 zip file to SD Card and reboot your phone to recovery mode (Power off then hold Home+ Power button). Now choose "Install zip from SD Card" and choose the zip file. Done! You have successfully installed CWM 5. Now time for you to install a new custom rom. Refer the following guide for all the custom roms for our device,
Know your Device:Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 ~Root~Odin~CWM~ROM LIST
For time being use any Gingerbread roms. Download it to SD Card and then reboot to recovery mode. Now choose Wipe data/ factory reset, Wipe cache partitions, Advanced> Wipe dalvik cache, Wipe battery stats, Mounts & Storage> Format /system. Now select "Install zip from SD Card" and choose your rom zip file. Reboot and you can use your new rom. Whenever you want to install any new custom rom, just follow the same procedure. Now as for the low internal memory problem, we might have a solution. But the catch is it requires a rom with init.d support (something all custom roms have and stock roms doesn't ) and an ext partition on SD Card. First backup all the SD Card data. Now go to CWM> Advanced> Partition SD Card> Size (Max 1GB, anymore and system will lag)> Swap (0MB) and wait for it to say "Partitioning done". Now download and place CronMod script (try INT2EXT+ as it is the most stable of all) to SD Card. Now again go to CWM> Mounts & Storage> Mount /system then flash the Cronmod zip from CWM. Reboot and you are good to go. Now go to Settings>Storage to see the newly increased internal memory. Here is the link,
CronMod-INT2EXT
Hope I Helped

Next time, post it in the correct section, thank you for understanding it
Follow @mahithm instructions to flash a fresh STOCK rom and the next tine DON'T USE CWM 4x, it's outdated, there are several recovery systems based on CWM 5x, they're the most stable for a daily usage and they're required to flash most of the custom roms
