Does anyone else have the issue that once touched to focus then press the take photo button it hangs for ages before actually taking the picture?
I'm currently on cm11 but it's always happened on other cm based roms too
Any ideas for a fix?

are you using manual focus with flash on? if so, that's your problem - either turn off flash, or dont manually focus. a bug that's present even on stock jb rom (in 3rd party apps, and default app when selecting face tracking focus instead of auto, then manually focusing with flash on)
I'll turn flash off and give it a try then. Thanks!

Just finished setting everything up again. Factory reset seems to have done the trick. Ill update if it happens again

It friggin did it again!!!! Im outta ideas....
Edit: I think I figured it out... Sensor still working even if auto brightness is off, I have a pen with an integrated flashlight, and after pointing the light to the sensor in the phone while playing the video, sure enough brightness went back up. Same issue (or feature) that the capacitive buttons have, annoying nevertheless

Could be an issue with your ambient light sensor?

Maybe... Because I noticed that the same time the issue is ocurring, when I switch with auto brightness from full brightness, the screen stays the same till after i shut off the screen and wake it back up which is where the sensor kicks in

Hi,
I'm having the exact same issue as you. It happens regardless of how high the screen brightness is, and whether autobrightness is on or off.
It's nice and bright on vertical view, then as soon as you rotate it to fullscreen, the screen dims and it's almost impossible to see the video.
I'm running stock 4.0.3 on a Sensation XE, and I've done multiple full factory resets on my device, no joy.
Any ideas?
The screen changes - a cream tinit that goes on and off every few seconds. Most noticeable on white screens eg Google Reader. Does anyone else have this, and how do I fix it!!! It's so winding me up and lets down an otherwise amazing screen and device.
Try turning off automatic brightness (settings, screen) and test if issue is still there.

99% certain its the automatic brightness being set on...just untick the box in the display section of settings, that should also disable the tinting effect when your on Google and internet sites
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
Go to Settings>Display>and on the bottom you will see "Auto adjust screen power" turn that off and you wont get the cream tint
The power settings seem to be the culprit. So far, it seems much better. I'll report back if it reverts back to disco lights.
I'd recommend to update your phone if you havent done so yet. Check if same issues arise if they do, and you eally want the setting maybe send the unit back?

Same problem with a droid 4 on ics, rooted
FIX for camera not working on droid
The camera on my droid 4 phone never worked from the time I got it. The app wouldn't even open. I went into Settings, Apps and close to list all apps. I chose the disable option for the 2or3 apps that started with "smart" and closed out. After restarting the phone the camera worked great! Hope this info helps!
Stock on all of your phone's? What happens in safe mode?

I have the same problem and I'm very confused what's causing this. I've even installed fresh CM but it did't help. Two days ago surprisingly front camera start working but then I've used scan app and problem back again. Could it be hardware issue?
Anyone else have issues with the camera not responding after taking a photo on 13mp setting? It's fine on 10mp though.
I am using stock rom with root.

That's just a little hang. Do factory reset.

The problem is becoming more frequent. I noticed this:
After the camera stops working and the application asks to be closed, i need to wait just a few minutes for the application restart to work, but only for 1/2 photos. Only restarting the phone is the solution. I can use the camera for dozens of photos with no problem, then suddenly during the day, it only takes just one to block the camera. :crying:
With the first fw release i never had any problem.
This freezing is caused by focus sound, causing mediaserver to be stuck in loop.
It is connected with Bluetooth usage.
For example on my T, I am using BT car radio and when I drive somewhere and want to make some photo after that, even if BT is already disconnected, camera hangs when trying to focus twice and in log, I can see mediaserver running in loop. Camera must be force closed and mediaserver must be killed. Killing mediaserver wouldn't be such pain, using terminal, if it wouldn't have different PID everytime it's killed and if it wouldn't slow down the phone so much.
I hope I wrote it clearly.
You could also (provided you have root access) change you build.prop, changing
ro.camera.sound.forced=1 to 0.
If you change this a new option will be available in your camera app giving you control if shutter sound is on or off

Yes, but do you know what? No sound of focus or shutter is provided by nosound.m4a file. So this is not the solution.
Thank you guys. So how do we solve the problem in the easiest way possible? And why not all xperia t haven't this defect? Why doesn't it show up in the first fw? It 's very boring this defect in a phone where the camera is the first feature. I can not restart the terminal each time after taking a single photo only.
I am trying to find some solution...
i'm sure this is a issue of the new fw. I made many many photos with the last release and never happened. But why? And why only
few peoples are speaking about this?

You don't needa nosound file because it just turns it off. I use it myself and I can tell you this works and my camera never crashed on me.

As i said, problem was solved after changing location of saved pics to ext-sdcard.
absolutelly not. From the first time i started up the phone, the ext-sdcard was the location for my saved pics (i never saved my pics into the internal memory) .I tried to change and to re-set....but nothing is changed. Solution has to be found in an another way.
Here is some workaround for the mediaserver causing camera to freeze problem -
- http://d-h.st/TmT
It's SemcCameraUI with changed shutter tone stream type from "system enforced" to "system" (now shutter tone is turned on/off with global sound settings) and it looks like that the camera is not freezing anymore, but it needs some testing by anyone else with this problem.
Does it need the root to install?
Yes, it does.
Sony has to solve this issue. I think the "minor update" after the .195 was to solve this also. May be?
Could be possible. I am on .197 and I have no problems

I'm only getting front facing camera.. The option for front facing isn't even there. Started out noticing this in blisspop, off and on, but it's found its way into every other ROM I've installed including my stock back up.
I've cleared cache in both recovery and system apps with no change.
Any idea how I screwed this up and how to fix would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks for the response.. I'll give that a try. Hopefully I won't have to take it back. Where can I get the factofy IMG? Would that already be in the toolkit?
