Flash With Stock Recovery (or cwm etc.)
Cache Partition (CSC)
when you flash with odin on first boot it is supposed to apply the csc in the stock recovery
once in a while on all samsung phones it doesnt do it on first boot for some reason
and you get unknown csc with *#1234*
to save having to flash the whole rom again to fix it and writing around 2gb to nand
just flash the cache partition and it should apply the csc on first boot
http://pc.cd/Y2k
Removed Apk's
Dont ask me for things i have removed they are all in this zip if you need them
http://pc.cd/SJH
Worth pointing out
Settings
Cloud
Device backup (Logs, SMS, MMS Wallpaper)
Is failing
Samsung Push Service (Available from market) fixes this
It doesnt actually seem to be needed
as if you try again before rebooting but after installing Samsung Push Service it still fails
reboot and its fine
The same is true back up works fine uninstall Samsung Push Service
and it still works
Reboot and it doesnt work
so seems to be a forced install by Samsung
I may or may not add it back into my next image
im unsure as the Samsung Push Service has alot of cpu wake locks
Scrub that Samsung backup is just crap
its still working after a few reboots after uninstalling it
It will fail 5 times and maybe work the 6th
looks to be just dodgy samsung cloud servers

ShonkUK, thanks for this, have been using your XXLTA JB mod and it is really stable and lag free without Samsung's bs. What are the differences between this and LTA? Or is it just for a different region?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Its just a newer stock image with bugfix's and such
LTA = July
LTC = November

please note, when you will flash under odin, file have to be in tar or md5.
Because Odin cant read rar or zip format as i known (CMIIW)
so make sure you extract that files till you get above extension prior to be flashed via Odin
*you may leave path by hit thanks if it help you*

Thanks

Yes, i can flash it via odin directly.
just remind..
to ensure your flashing is clean, you may go recovery mode before flash.
wipe cache and data user, unfortunately you cant go to download mode directly from stock cwm here.
so you have to switch off you phone first then turn on phone again and go to download mode by pressing power + vol down + home.
goodluck
flashing this ROM.. noted that "My Files" is missing.
anyone know how/ where to get it back?
Its removed as its crap

Aroma?
It's a decent effort. However to be really useful it needs tick-box style interface to select just what you want to kill. Not everyone has same kill list.
I think just a simple batch file with appropriate adb commands would do the job. Easily user editable and all that. Extra points if you can keep apk list in separate file.
Great tool, thanks for the effort.
The remove/install/uninstall can also be done via Flashtool...
@Chaos: I (as normal user) will never start playing around just to setup the Aroma. And I don't think that Aroma installer allows you to remove apps....

It's not automated, is it? There's fair bit of apps to remove and if you test firmwares, doing it one by one gets old fast. I think I'll make a batch file to do same what op did but with my list..

As I threatened, I made my own version of this tool with APKs listed in a separate text-file so you can customize what's removed as much as you like..
Very simple and nasty as I wrote it for my own use. Use with caution or not at all.

Mod is something you flash over a whole ROM to modify something inside it. So I guess you should rename the thread to something like modded/ updated/ refined instead of mod to not confuse people
I have done a complete odin package to save the confusion and updated the page

Is this odex or deodexed rom?
Its the stock rom so its odexed
why anyone would want deodexed is beyond me
its slower and wastes loads of space on the data partition

Maybe it's time to read and learn. Might help you understand what is beyond you now and will save you from making wrong statements (like "slower").
I know exactly what deodexing does thanks ThaiDai
Unless you want to be extensively theming the rom and it isnt even needed for alot of theming
its a totally stupid thing to do
Just as you have a love for deodexing doesnt mean everyone has too follow your doctrine

Thanks for this man. I think your 2nd update will have better RAM at boot. I flashed your email zip package and i got all i want. How did you make this ROM unbranded?
EDIT: I removed every file in system/preload that started with AllShare with an apk extension. Will it break anything?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The way samsung work is
they have one base system partition for all regions XXLTA being the newest atm
in the process they flash a new cache image with sec_csc.zip in there
on first boot stock recovery flashes this to add the csc and branding with a touch of bloat
then deletes the file once its flashed it
as the note allows test keys i simply take the stock UK unbranded sec_csc.zip
delete any pre install bloat (Books.apk etc..) and resign the zip
and pack it back into the cache image

I advise other's do the same or freeze it
as it truely is a hogg of an app

bro need not to quote whole post again n again as it is odin flashable firmware you can flash it but once you update to Jellybean 4.1.2 you can't downgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.6 due to bootloader update and if you try to downgrade you can brick your device if you feel unsafe and your device is unrooted then try to upgrade through Kies once kies update your device you can easily root it n also can flash custom recovery n custom rom good luck
when I extract the file, I get a 0kb image, is this normal ?

Hey,
I was just directed from another member to try this rom. Now i am a bit confused about what this rome offers, been ages once i flashed a rom but i have a few questions.
1. Is this rom a rooted stock rom, with all the apps removed to make it faster, is that the purpose of this rom?
2. can i flash this rom with mobile odin?
3. do i need to worry about bricking my device, as currently i am on a custom JB AOKP rom 4.1.2, and my kernel is 3.0.15-CM?
4. also if i install rom, do i need to change the CSC or something with the PHONE INFO app, someone mentioned this to me, but not sure.
Sorry, but its been like 2 years when i flashed a rom, as my current one closes, restarts like every hour, just went down lol
Thanks for any help and if possible can instructions be very detailed in steps...

2. Does Mobile Odin support Stock Rom flashing?
3. You WILL NEVER Brick your device when flashing Stock Rom.
4. Don't Touch CSC Unless u know what you r doing as it can delete your efs or wipe your IMEI.

Everything is flashed and working fine, very smooth fast rom, but i do have two questions.
if i install that email mod, do i just do the same thing, add the mod and make sure everything is checked, wipe data/dalvik or do i just flash it without wiping data/dalvik?
Lastly, i noticed my battery is running out very fast, so just wonder if another kernel can or should be flashed with this which gives better battery life? curious..
Thanks
Thank you. I have encountered battery draining problem in SlimSaber 4.4.4, now flash back to super lag N7000 4.1.2 stock rom.
Currently downloading this slimmed version stock rom, hope that this rom is slim, light and stable. I will report at here later my using experience. Thanks.

For the email, just flash the file in recovery. No need to wipe anything (feel free to do so, I always wipe cache+dalvik, might be paranoid lol)
Try forest's kernel. They do magic. The main cause of battery drain r usually google+, sync always on, too many online apps such as multiple email acc, social media apps facebook, path, blabla n many more. In case of stock rom, bloatwares might be a culprit.

That because system.ext4 is an image, even though I removed those apps image size is still the same. I just need to find a s different way to flash the system files instead of using an image so the flashable zip will be samller in size. It's on my to do list

You could try to ask @niaboc79
He posted, that the managed it to get his rom 100% deodexed without Google Play FCs. (Rom isn't released yet)
I think It doesn't hurt to ask.
Can I get the flashable script only without needing to download the whole package?
Thanks
Realy Cool

Well i can remember that he said, use google to search the deodex tool, there is one for LP for Xperia and that one works
A big thanks to the OP for his work !
Can I flash it on D6502 (India) ? I mean can I flash an India Modem for my D6502 to work with this rom? Also, once i flash the ROM , can use recovery to flash other stuff (is the recovery fully working). Kindly advise.

OK so I unpacked the system.ext4 image from your zip and was able to deodex all the system apps. How do I repack it for flashing?
