If you format from stock rom it removes the partition

Reformat your sdcard (not just the partition, but the whole sdcard) using Gparted on Ubuntu or the tool you use to partition your sdcard before.

Use minitool partion wizard win7

1. make partition using CWM Recovery or via PC with Mini Tool Partition Wizard.
2. Make the small partition EXT2
3. Set other partition active.
4. Format them
5. Start phone and start Link2SD, it will promp to choose partion format type. Choose EXT2

[Q] Partition SD card using CWM recovery

hello guy
i want to ask u all
how can i partition my sd card using cwm?
i can see advanced > partition sd card
if can, can u show how to do it and what to do after done this step?
is it safe?
i want to do it via minitool partition but i do not have sd card reader
i'm using ketut blackhawk dxkt7 rom
You can partition the sd card using CWM recovery.
Be sure to backup your data as in the partition the sd card is formatted.
After selecting partition sd card the first thing you will see is the option to select the size of the partition that you want to make (generally select 1024=1gb).
Next will be the swap size. This is optional.
After selecting these options your sd card will be formatted with a 1gb ext partition.
Hope this helps.

I'm with SuperAce609 here. Look into my signature and find the link in which I've thanked him. After partitioning your SD card, the only thing you have to do is install S2E and reboot your SGA after you install any CM7 based Custom ROM. & boom! No matter if you install 100+ apps, you will never be out of internal memory.
use the search option.

Ok, this is my LG Optimus 3D system:
System ROM:1GB
Internal ROM: 1GB
Internal SD Card: 6GB
Ext SD Card: 32GB
I always facing "out of internal memory" problem. So, if I ever partition my SD Card vi CWM, what will change? Which part can be greater in size?

Can't. CWM makes ext3 partition, period.
You'd have to modify cwm to get it to partition in ext4 format.
I found this "4EXTRecovery" interesting for making ext4, just to make sure if anyone use and confirmed it work.

Can't you just back the files up?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using XDA
do it with pc, use mini patition tools (http://iqbal244-android.blogspot.com/2011/06/tutorial-partisi-memori-si-mini.html), first backup all files to pc, then via card reader to make partition with mini partition tools....for the best result use mini partition tools via card reader

no it is not possible to partition SD card without wiping data you should copy your data to computer and use mini tool partition wizard
I'm using mini partition tool too.
but my data isn't gone after I create a partition. As long as your data still have its space, I think it's okay.
for example if you have 7.5 GB storage with 3 GB used by your data, it means you still have 4.5 GB which probably haven't touched by your data. you can create another partition on these space without thouching your data.
But it's much recommended to back up your data.

[Q] Someone help

I partitoned my 8gb sd card with mini partition tool
6.xx...gb as primary fat32 and 800mb as ext4 primary
now after using it for some time..now i wanted to do a fresh repartitioning
so i formatted the sd card using cwm recovery...
Now I inserted my sd card into the laptop sd card slot..(using adpater)
Now the mini partition tool only recognizes 6.5GB as primary fat32 but its not showing any 800 MB ext4 partition
So wat do i do to get my the whole 7.xx GB memory back??

+ partition like this
--------------------fat32-----------------|-----ext2/3/4---|--------Linux swap-----
#######Most important part is to set all partitions as "primary"(setting to "logical" cause "blank sdcard"error )
