Hi everyone, so during multitasking my C5303 LTE on stock .257 kills everything in sight, including supposedly unkillable apps that are in the notification bar!
Any idea what might be causing it and how to fix it?
- Installed unmodified Sony rom over carrier-modified rom (Orange France) using flashtool.
- Rooted the phone using doomlord (problem appeared before rooting).
- Bootloader remains locked.
- Ram Manager on "Hard Multitasking" and Autokiller Memory Optimizer on "Moderate" do not help.
- My 2012 Nexus 7 has pretty much the same widgets running and number of apps installed without problems.
Thanks in advance!

Its because of the stupid rminfree ram settings.
My opinion, install v6 supercharger script and configure it. The bulletproof those apps so that they won't be killed!
True!
Whenever i download torrent file using any client on my phone and keep the client in the background then after sometime it automatically gets killed but in notofication panel is says that app is running,......
strange

run v6 script.
choose option 16 (the one for bulletproof apps)
it will list the ongoing processes, so type the name of the process, and follow instructions
Thanks a lot sarkar.
I must say I'm disappointed in Sony for coding such crappy settings. It takes A LOT of work to go back to a state of normalcy, I've never had another Android device prevent me from listening to music or blind me by killing lux while I'm simply browsing.

hey bro i have bulletproofed lux, sonyericssonmusic, soundenhancements and viper4android. Just one more uestion as I don't know much about supercharcher thingy. everytime i reboot, do i have to run the script(s) to make it start it's ram management work? or no need of that?
P.S: after restart looks like walkman and viper4android have become bulletproofs indeed!!

I really don't get it.
Just create a SManager widget for the /data/bulletproof_apps.sh and one for the supercharger settings. That way you just click them once on reboot and you are good to go.
Btw, just use chrome for some time and see whether Walkman still gets killed? Just dont open a video or anything that has sound in it.
My 2 year old Nexus has much better RAM and OOM management. Unfortunately, I damaged the device and had to buy the SP.

Well, then it may have been killed because the temple run, which was active needed more memory and the walkman was the one that was killed to give it space.
Wait for the next update, I hope Sony fixes these issues.

CM 10.1 had some lag issues on their lockscreen and systemui stutters. But they would still solve some of the major blunders on this device. However, until Sony releases some sort of AOSP project on this I can see nothing being developed for this.
FXP still does not have this device and being a mid-ranger, I see none of the devs taking too much interest here. Its really a very sad situation here.

i think i figured out why walkman got killed while playing the game.. it's not because of the game, mate, looks like it's because of the mail notification that u have quoted me on XDA!! (notifications do not sound while playing walkman somehow, just pauses the music for a second for some reason). but while playing the game, the expected pause is actually killing walkman!!

Made the update, it's much better for sure but I still get apps to close when browsing heavy pages. Oh well, at least there's progress.
Since i switched to Maclaw's CM 11 about a month ago and i had no trouble with the phone untill i updated to version 3/8 and the versions after that..the battery gets drained fast even when the phone is always underclocked to 200 MHz which never made an issue for me in terms of being a bit slow.
It used to drop just 1% every 15 min with heavy data use..a lot of the time it even lasted more than that! Now drops 1% every 5 min or less with the same heavy data use!!!
What went wrong?
It's just CM 11. Remember, it's still under heavy development, so it's not 100% yet. Don't worry, they'll get it fixed.

Got a lot better with Carbon without doing any more scientific research into what was eating my battery. If you still have CM installed, maybe a simple "top -m 10" in an adb shell will give a clue to what the power drain is. (I'm new to adb and forget how easy it is can be to have a linux shell on my phone. :silly

well i found out that my solution didn't really work. but i now have a new solution which seems to work, i got this from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683451 by factorexh
1. tick "set on boot" at governor and i/o of cpu, then set governor to abbysplug and i/o to sio
I set it like this and it seems to work but not 100% sure since it's the first day
So i installed Carbon and left it for 2 days and the battery was better but then i flashed CM back and the problem was still there. So i flashed the Stock rom back, rooted the phone then installed CM...at first everything seems back to normal but later that day the battery little started draining faster!
I thought that maybe coz i disabled/froze some system and built in apps that it what caused the problem but now i made sure i didnt disable any app, only force stop some non system appsm j and found the battery still draining!m
I have only 4 things running in my "Running apps" section:
1- Settings
2- Greenify
3- Setcpu (underclocked to 200)
4- Smart keyboard trial
THAT'S ALL!!

i don't know about that maybe your batt is demaged but still
CM11 the 20th 3rd 14th version mentioned a change about battery life.. they update the zip very often just check if the zip has another date in the name then flash it...
and try to change what i said above.. about stock i don't know how to help but i have my battery now for longer than half a day on and it's on 64 with display on mid-high
How fast is the battery charging(with the original charger). If it charges from empty to full very fast, then it's probably a bad battery. Both mine and my wife's battery has died on us after just a year of use, so it seems like the sIII mini's batteries is not lasting much more than 400 cycles.

Yeah, i've noticed. It's kinda a pain to keep downloading and flashing on a daily basis though.
Do you have Wifi/mobile data on during those hours?
I dont have Skype nor Viber, Whatsapp, Facebook messenger and all those messenger apps.
Mind if i asked you if you disabled any apps? System or downloaded?
And what's your current LCD density? Mine is 200, i tried to go for 180 but the phone started acting a bit weird.

thats all cause i just installed CM and didn't save the apps...
i had wifi and mobile both on most of the day yeah...
(no need to flash daily when you're happy with it )
My phone Overheats from charging or browsing (simplest things) and i always find it strangly too warm in my pocket while doing nothing and the media server takes about 30% of the battery (first time to see anything consume battery more than the screen)
so what can i do and what other roms you might suggest for no overheating and maybe a little bit better ram managment
Overheating is not the problem of the Rom

There are people that have the problems that you have and there are people with NO problems what so ever there must be a version that had some hardware flaws or something that sony fixed in later Xperia SP's or something because it's really weird that like half of the people here are having these issues and the other half doesn't!
Just a simple question: when did you buy your XSP?
I've bought my xsp this year in the end of January or February sth like that

As you read this message, unofficial AOSP porting of Android 7 / Nougat has already passed 4 closed beta releases. Looking at the stability of the ROM, it is definitely a daily driver. But, it has its own issues - that is why it is still in 'closed' BETA. ROM is pretty fast. Lots to enjoy in Android 7.
This is not a rumour or just a teaser. Since, I am a part of the closed BETA - I thought I would share this information.
I am open to answer any questions / queries on this.
GPS works - Thanks Ivan.
Issues that are open as of now at least for me.
- Rare FCs - doesn't matter
- No options to configure LED setup (probably not part of AOSP?!)
- Root not available yet
- Camera under video crashes when we choose 1080p. Need to clear data to open camera again
- Security patch level is old - 5Aug'16
Public release - I am not aware of the date yet.
BETA Releases - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-...-android-7-0-aosp-nougat-mi-note-pro-t3490305

Please note updates
@sarvesvara.dasa , thank you so much for your info and your support! And, of course, infinites thanks to Mr.Ivan for his work!
What worries me is:
- Battery... Is it at the level of MIUI? (In anothers AOSP the battery lasted much less) Speed processor on idle is 384 MHz?
- Camera App: When you chose 1080p, the app crashed.
- Definition Camera App. With stock app, photos and videos had a lot of noise.
Thanks!
Glad I could be of some help.

Speed - how to check / test? I will try and revert, if you know the means to check it.

With SetCPU you can check it.
Thank you again! =)

This needs ROOT - which is not established yet. I tried some other app. Please check attachment - does it help? What is the answer then?
Aww, It's true, SetCPU needs root.
Yes, in these screenshots it seems that minimum voltage of the processor is 384 Mhz.
It's a great notice!
Thanks!
Phone calls - works perfect.

Generally, what time is announced?
So I left my phone at around 90% yesterday night with both WiFi and data turned off with no apps running it background and when today I woke up all my battery was drained. I did some research and people suggested to delete google play cache etc which I did. I am still wondering about the real culprit and the reason behind this.View attachment 4582529

See if your CPU cores are maxed out using this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cpuid.cpu_z&hl=pt_BR). Post a screenshot from the first screen.

You have the same problem that I had. (Not bad as yours...). As you can see, all the core clocks are at maximum speed, draining battery. The solution is to change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactive' to 'ondemand'... But to do so you need to unlock bootloader and root the device. I did this last night and my battery is fine now.
You could also delete the cache+data from google play services, and reboot your phone (turn wifi off!). You will not have the problem anymore (but if you switch the Wifi back 'ON' it will come back after a while).
See more abou this problem in the thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/help/frequency-sd660-stuck-maximum-t3832366

I see..well this sucks..this was not the usual case before, can you show me what a normal CPU profile looks like ?
also will this void my warranty if I root & unlock BL but not flash a custom ROM etc?

The normal cpu in iddle looks like the SS i've attached... It should increase clock when you're actually doing stuff, but, if the phone is iddle it should go back to the 'lowest' setting, which is what is currently in my SS.
And it will probably void warrenty, but I'm not sure... Good luck!
I am really surprised we are facing this issue even after having Android One. Wish I had waited and gone for Poco.

This issue was happening in pixel 2 as well, months ago... There are people here in the forum that own this device and does not have the problem... So maybe we're unlucky?

Go in the 'CPU' tab and change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactor' to 'ondemand' (you need to apply this in two itens, each item control 4 cores - its under the section "Big Governor" and "LITTLE governors") then reboot device.
Use cpu-z to confirm if the value was indeed changed.
Quick solution is to reboot. Fixes the issue but it gets triggered again! Submit a ticket on the feedback app.. a lot of people are affected by the CPU maxing out

It is just $50 more expensive and is available in India. No BS.
Xiaomi doesn't even reply to people or keep them updated like OnePlus does about the current issues and ETA of OTA.
A2 is like 230$ and poco is over 400 on gearbest for example. OnePlus yes sure they reply but they are lying all the time.
+1 , this sucks!!!

Poco will have their own bugs, don't worry.
this is Xiaomi world, good hardware, good price & lot of bugs.
I'm curious as why in CPU-Z, my processor is labeled as SD636 2.21ghz but the model is 660.
As for the cpu frequency, mine was like that until I stopped using the fingerprint and switched to trusted face.
It didn't get stuck ever since.
Now it discharges by 12% per hour without games, give it a try :good:
