[Q] Hotword detection - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi !
My google now's hotword detection is not working, and the mic in the searchbox appears to be hollow (Newest stock PA Gapps on cm11), but when I press the mic button the voice search works. I have set the language to english (us) and also tried to reboot my phone.
I've read and tried everything included in this post, none of them helped:

Any way to fix this issue ?

i think it's pa gapps. i had the same problem, but i ditched google launcher in favour of nova again. if i was you, i'd do a clean install with non-pa core-only gapps package, and would try getting google experience launcher from other sources (as apk files), as i've seen people running 4.3.1 roms on our device with working hotword detection.

Well I was thinking the same, I thought that the problem was with the gapps themselves . I was on Bank's gapps yesterday, I only flashed the PA version this morning but the issue persists.

CyanogenMod 11 loaded up and working fine on the Samsung Captivate - no problems came from 10.2 so didn't have to do anything other than make a back up and install . Also installed newest Gapps . :good:

Yeah I know - I read those - but the XDA forums won't let me post there until I make ten posts in the general areas. So gotta start somewhere.
Ok so I have flashed CM11 and it works fine except for "OK Google" doesn't work. I came from OmniRom 4.4 and there's is almost perfect except there is no screenshot without installing framework. So when I do that it makes my Music force close. I wipe and reinstall, wipe and reinstall still no luck. Ant ideas on how to get "ok google" to work? I tried going in and removing the code that is posted in the dev forum but that didn't work for me either. Otherwise great job everybody.

Maybe it will get fixed on one of the new nightlies . There always seem to be a lot of bugs in these new versions that get fixed eventually. For me MX player worked but after the newest nightly yesterday then it wouldn't load up. But I found the built in video player is working fine.

It's MX Player issue, not CM11.

Yes - the newest update of MX now works. The camera didn't work in the newest CM11 nightly but I used Titanium Backup to find the camera app and cleared the data and that fixed the problem.
Mic Only no sound on phone calls with Hangouts enabled
Currently on Cyanogenmod cm-11-20140108-NIGHTLY-captivatemtd.
During phone calls the other party cannot hear me. Using Groundwire sip client no problems with voice both ways.
When I disable Hangouts the mic functions normally. I have tried factory resets and re flashing without success.
I also had this problem on 10.2 but did not diagnose the problem. I had resolved this problem previously on a ROM (not CM) by flashing an upgraded ROM. This was before Hangouts I think it was the Illuminiance ROM.
I don't have access to XDA developer forums.
I had no success in google so has this been reported before and should I report it on a different forum?.

[Q] Nameless ROM Nightly + GApps (20140411) no voice serach

Hello,
unfortunately I can't post a question under development forum (some error about not having enough posts), so here it goes in QA forum.
I've flashed Nameless nightly (20140415) ROM and installed Gapps from 20140411 on my P970.
Neither from Google voice search nor from Google Now I can't perform voice search. Error is that it can't connect to Google servers. Is this a common problem, can't find what is the problem.
Thanks in advance.

I'm using Banks Gapps from 2014-04-11.
Apps work, Google Now works, gives me tiles, etc but voice search does not work anywhere in the OS.
One more thing,
I don't know if this issue is related but when I'm monitoring microphone icon on the search bar, it flickers mos to the time it is just an outline (i.e. microphone is not listening) but it goes into filled 'grey' mode for very brief periods of time.
I also tried to use Voice Recorder app and then play back the recording - sound recording level is very very low.
I will try tonight to go back to final nightly CM 10.1 build and see if I have similar issues.

Google assistant on our Huawei P8 Lite

Hey everyone, I have successfully got assistant from google to work on the P8 Lite.
Here is a quick tutorial on how to get it on your device.
Requirements:
* Rooted MM 6.0
* Custom Recovery like TWRP
* Google App Beta ( https://goo.gl/SsMHkA ) use Google App provided from link, newer versions seems to break Assistant
* Xposed framework ( https://goo.gl/TYZ22v )
* N-ify Xposed Module ( https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/ )
1. Get Xposed installed on your device by following instructions in the link provided
2. Download and install N-ify Xposed Module
3. Reboot device
4. Install Google app beta
5. Go to apps in settings and clear data from installed google app
6. Long press home key and google assistant should open
7. When first running assistant select do it later for voice setup as this will crash the assistant.
None of this work is my own and so I take no responsibility if you damage your device and won't be answering questions either.
I have followed this procedure on my own P8 Lite with Sokkoban's B574 rooted and deodexed ROM installed and it's working fine for me.
Here is a link to youtube for instructions if you prefer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ES3CZdUgoo

Hey guys, just a heads-up, the Ok Google hot word doesn't work, it will ask you to retrain every time you try to use it. Haven't found a solution for this yet, but will keep you updated if anything comes up.

Also I am unable to change settings of Google assistance. Whenever I ask about weather it gives temperature in Fahrenheit(I use Celsius) which is a bit annoying.
Quick update
I updated the Google App to the latest BETA from apkmirror which seemed to break Assistant, I am going to reinstall the Google App from the link provided in first post to see if it will fix this problem. Will post result.
Update 2:
I uninstalled updates for Google App and also deactivated N-ify and uninstalled it, then just followed the steps in first post and Assistant is working again.
I'm having issues with speaking "OK, Google" when I'm doing this, Google assistant opens voice recognition configuration Everytime

If you check the thread, you'll see that I did mention that the "Ok Google" hotword does not work. There is currently no fix for this unfortunately. If a fix becomes available, I will update the first post.
Works fine. Hope there will ba a Solution for the OK Google hotword Bug soon.

basically GA is exclusive to pixel phones and in this method we are using the official app, so hot word issue gonna exist until someone find a way to fix it.
I found a workaround for OK Google. 'ChopAssistant' Install this app, enable accessibility service, and voila. Say okay Google and Google assistant pops up.
Thanks to Daniel F Q for this app.
flashable zip works
the flashable zip method works but it has no memory. as soon as you ext the app it loses memory.
Will this trigger the assistant when the phone is dosing/locked?
How is the compatibility with the speech recognition chip that can wake/unlock your Moto with its counterpart in the pixel in general?
I hope this is not off topic.

Failed to install the downloaded voice - Google TTS

Hi everybody, I'm running the latest nightly of the cyanogenmod official for the mi5. I found this error when i try to install the language output package. This happens with every language. Then I flashed aicp rom and it happened again. Can anybody help please? Thanks in advance
same problem here
Same here
Yep, here to.
But still the language does work, just this irritating message.
I haven't found a solution yet. However, in order to stop the annoying incoming notification (for example when you open google maps) you can remove the auto udpates from Google tts options. It worked for me.
Same for me CM13 nightly 20161116
lol Google took me here
Hi
I had this problem too. Just go to setting/apps/text-to-speech and uninstall the update. It worked for me.
