Hello,
I have searched and didn't find TWRP custom recovery for GT-P1000.
The TWRP site doesn't support GT-P1000
I have rooted my device, and flashed CWM recovery.
I want to flash TWRP recovery instead using Odin or "install zip from sdcard"
Anyone can help me find this custom recovery.
Thanks
Well, you can get it automatically if you flash this Omni KK ROM on your CWM recovery, after that don't forget to flash SuperSU.zip
OMNI ROM ---> http://dl.omnirom.org/p1/
SUPERSU.ZIP ---> http://download.chainfire.eu/695/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip?retrieve_file=1

Hi, I've tried this but it just comes up with status 7 installation aborted error when flashing on CWM. '/tmp/updater.sh =0' 'E:error in /sdcard0/.../omni-4.4.4.....zip.
Any ideas on what to do?
Edit: Don't worry, I just had to flash the zip again to fix it

I am having the same issue, I was able to root it without any issues. Installed GooManager but the App itself is force closing or it get stucks in "Installing Recovery Image" when I reboot into recovery I still get the standard recovery and not TWRP.
Now my question is since I have SU, would it be easier to just get Rom Manager and install CWM then flash TWRP off of it? Any suggestions appreciated.

Sound like your last paragraph will work... Or just flash CWM through Odin then flash TWRP trough CWM.

Or twrp through odin?

That is what I did and it did the trick.
Try as I might, I just couldn't get mine to work through Goo manager either. Finally, flashed CWM through Odin, flashed TWRP zip for T879 through CWM and I was good to go.
Had the same troubles.. Finally got it installed by following the dd method on the teamwin page. OK, can't post a link but google "sgh-t879 twrp". They list several alternate methods of installation.
"Download - DD Method:
You can use adb or terminal emulator to install the following image:
...
adb push openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-sgh-879.img /sdcard
adb shell dd if=/sdcard/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-sgh-879.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22"
would someone point me to the step-by-step for this? I have odin running but it shows blue... I'll figure that out - what I need is how to get CWM loaded & running correctly.

Hi all,
I want to install CWM on my rooted SGS however there appears to be on CF Kernel that matches my JVN Kernel so using the CF method is not an option from what I have read.
So I installed ROM Manager and tried to install it that way but I now get signature verification errors when I go into Recovery.
Next I downloaded the recovery image from the CWM website but I cannot seem to find any information on installing it onto a SGS.
If anyone could offer any suggestions it would be appreciated.
TIA
Greg
Edit: Firmware is 2.3.3
Why dont you just flash JVU then Root it
Comes with CWM ....
As I am guessing you want CWM to flash a rom yes?
If so most Roms require ...from my knowledge a clean install of JVU with ODIN before flashing a New Rom

Download this "update.zip". Place it in your SD card. Power off and boot into recovery with the 3 button combination (press power, volume up and home button till you see the boot logo) and select "apply sdcard: update.zip". DO NOT DELETE THIS FROM SD. You should have CWM installed now. Let me know if you have any problem.
You need to root your phone first with update.zip for i9000, download the latest CWM.zip, put it in the storage. Then go to recovery and install the CWM.zip Goodluck flashing!

Can you use any version of JVU? eg: Europe, Asia, Australia. Or, should you only use one for your region, in my case Australia.
I have an Australian verion of JW6 (2.3.6), would that be acceptable?

Thanks for the UPDATE.ZIP, I note it is just a renamed CWM. I did not know you could just rename them and then install them. Thanks.
So, my plan at this stage is to update to 2.3.6 (JW6) and then install CWM via UPDATE.ZIP. Should this work?
TIA
Greg
Yeah you can upgrade first. Flash a firmware or upgrade OTA. You should root your phone first before flashing a custom recovery such as CWM.

No, basically I wanted to start TOTALLY fresh with a new ROM so I went to CWM and formatted EVERYTHING!! I was half asleep when I did it and formatted my SD card (where my ROM was saved lol) I also formatted boot, so I have no recovery anymore either.
What I'm wanting is a custom recovery I can flash using Odin.
So CWM recovery in a .tar format.
Thanks for the help!

So attached one may help you a lot. It works even for JW9! All you need to do - it's install the latest stock ROM first

But this isn't a recovery is it?
It's just a root package for stock firmware?
All I'm looking for is a custom recovery (like CWM) that I can flash in Odin so I can get a recovery back on my phone and flash CM
This on contains Root+CWM3 for stock ROM
Hello folks,
I am trying to upgrade the CWM recovery from 6.0.3.6 to 6.0.4.3 to install KitKat.
However, when I try installing the zip file, the phone simply reboots from recovery during installation.
I tried ROM Manager too, but it couldn't install the latest recovery as well.
No luck with TWRP zip file as well
Anyone faced any such issue ? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

First thing you should be root
If you have any PC or laptop then install android one toolkit the android one toolkit thread is given below and just download it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...oolbox-android-one-toolkit-one-click-t3030165
After installing this if you are not rooted just root your device by simply clicking on root button.
If you are already rooted then just select the recovery which you want like :-
Philz
Cwm
Stock
TWRP
Select the recovery and just click on flash recovery and it will be flashed in minutes.
If you don't have any PC or Laptop then for your ease, download Flasher or flashify from play store and select recovery file and select flash on it.
The custom recovery will be flashed.
I think you should understand what I mean..
Hit thanx if you think that I helped..
