Ok I don't care for much about benchmarks but due to alittle lag decided to run a few known benchmarks to see if something would stand out. and this is what I found........ Now I'm not sure if I got rouge app hoging cpu usage and I'm not able to find it but still this can't be right.

Keep in mind that running the benchmark back to back will result in lower scores... the phone heats up, the performance goes down. You want a free 10-20%? Go stick it in the fridge for 10 minutes and run it again.
Best performance you will get with DooM kernel Overclokked to 2.5ghz under Liquid Nitogen!! (just kidding, but true)

Tried to cool mine in fridge and freezer to see if I could get higher numbers, they went down.
Real hard with java based platforms (why no one really trusts the accuracy), because all you need is a memory space house keeping going on then it's all over.

Some of the reported low benchmarks are not matching real life use. Everyone is reporting EXTREMELY snappy gameplay and app usage on the Nexus 4. What's the deal?? This must really solidify the moniker that benchmarks aren't everything.

It may also have something to do with the 4.2 update. Just like two years ago when the Nexus S came out and quadrant kept crashing all the time because it wasn't compatible with GB.
can we get a quadrant?
Could someone please also run Linpack?
I think as what qreffie said, the benchmark software isn't optimized yet for the new phones and therefor it shows bad scores

Lg OG scored petty well here running ICS
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g_att_sprint-review-851p5.php
It feels like the N4 should score about the same. I also think it has something to do with the 4.2 update and the apps not optimised for it.

Quite low. Not impressed.
Based on some benchmarks sure but after owning so many Google phones, Nexus 7, ASUS transformer, trying modified kernels and overclocks, ...my head is spinning, this is a totally different experience.

Don't worry folks!! When we get some custom kernels we'll see what this phone is all about.
My phone (Dual core s4 Evita) only got around 4200 on quadrant... and probably 170 on linpack which is fast as hell compared to most devices.. after a few months of development the phone is a completely different device. This device will be even better!! More source, bigger dev community etc.
This is what I get on my custom ROM at stock speeds with half the ram and half the cores.. just imagine what the nexus will be like by January

Woah... you're right. I'm typically around 0.9 GB of RAM being used, but now I'm at 504 MB. As long as my apps still load as snappier as before, I think this is a step in the right direction.

This issue applies to all camera modes, except the still one. Plaguing presumably since day 1. I've always noticed it. It seems to have gotten marginally better with the updates. I used to get complete black videos/panoramas in dimly lit conditions, much unlike what the still camera gave. It's a little better now, but there's a noticeable difference in exposures. It has been documented and responded to here: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/UB5u0brAq68/k42GmRkZV0cJ

Bech marks are highly subjective, and frankly i don't even pay attention to them anymore. It depends on SO many factors. The iPhone 5s keeps close and a believe passes the M8 and s5 in some i believe and it's only a dual core phone with 1GB or ram. Its all how everything is optimized, how heavy the UI is. Blah, blah, blah, blah.
But i get it, its a game of who can get the higher number lol. I just judge my phone now of days on how well and fast it runs. I haven't even put a benchmark app this time around on my M8 or my S5
Here is what I got:

I just literally makes me wonder. I know not all devices are equal, but if I had known i would have taken this big of a performance hit I would have never upgraded. Other than the knock feature it just wasn't worth it. I could already take picture ect in 4k resolution on my device. Which seems kind of moot to me it only being a 720p display. I switched to art and yeah it was an even bigger hit. So i placed it back into dalvik.

You can easily flash back. Reroot etcetera, until they maybe get the custom recovery going and we can get some custom Roms. Also most developers will tell you that benchmark tests are really not that important.
