Hi guys
I have a Lumia 620 locked to Vodafone - Portugal, but I will unlock it as soon as I get the code. After I unlock it, I want to flash an unbranded ROM, but I have a few questions:
1) I can't find any Portuguese unbranded ROM for the Lumia 620. Is it ok to use any other country unbranded ROM (like Spain or France)?
2) Will I still be able to get OTA updates with the new ROM?
3) Will I get Data Sense?
Thanks!

Answer to question #1: Don't think so. Maybe someone who has more experience under their belt will know this.
Answer to question #2: If question #1 were to be yes, then this answer will be yes as well.
Answer to question #3: Since GDR2 and Amber update, all countries and carriers get Data Sense.

Thanks for the answer. I currently don't have Data Sense and I have GDR2 / Amber, that's why I was asking.

Are you sure you're using GDR2/Amber? I'm 100% sure when I was on Amber I had Data Sense. Try doing a phone update on your Lumia and see if you get another update to maybe give you Data Sense.

Answer 3 is wrong, AT&T removed data sense from the update. I have been looking up international roms for my phone in the USA. Many ppl debrand their phone using an international ROM. I dont know about other carriers, just know that ATT removes that feature.

Oh, really? I thought all phones would have had Data Sense since that's what the changelog said.
Why did they remove it,anyway?

Your guess is good as mine. Guess they don't want us to have that feature

Hey Guys,
I'm looking to upgrade to the HD7 in the near future main reason i'm waiting is because o2 UK has the device as an exclusive at the moment and i'm not prepared to switch network. I know some people have already unlocked their devices to be used on other carriers but from what you can tell has the been any repercussions? Also are there any unmodded - debranded ROMS avaliable?

Ceesheim, do you know what is the percentage of security unlocked among all HD7s? So far I've seen 2 in our discuss group more than 200 members. One is my T-mobile version, so lucky to get it, the other is one of the members, which i told him to search every bootloader mode before purchase, and he found it yesteday, O2 version.

LOL ,me to .
First, hi there.... i'm a newbie regarding flashing smartphones.... so please be kind
My phone info:
OS Version: 7.0.7008.0
Firmwareversion: 2250.09.11901.207
HW-Rev: 0002
Radio: 5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
Radio-HW: A.102.0.D4
Bootloaderversion: 1.19.2250.0(111297)
Chip-SOC-Version: 2.2.5.0
Provider: o2 Germany
(HD7 bought via o2myhandy)
PreNoDo-Update is installed.
And here are coming the questions :
1. Correct me if im wrong but it looks like my HD7 is branded from o2. (i have the o2 accent theme in my design settings and so on)
2. I want to unbrand my HD7, to get updates directly and not through o2. Is that possible?
3. If that is possible, which ROM should i use to flash? (Is it useful to debrand my phone with an preNodo ROM and update it then through zune?)
4. Can i use the offical HTC ROMs, or du i have to use other ones?
Thanks!
This is exactly what I've been wondering too. The o2 search provider (Yahoo) on my phone annoys me lots and I'm fed up waiting for the 7.0.7390 update to arrive. Shall I take matters into my own hands!
Hi
I followed the instructions on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988672
and have updated to NODO successfully
Please Note it seems to work with only HTC HD7 on O2 UK
I had an O2 UK and its seems to unbrand it to European version to get the nodo update
Do make sure you read the post properly again and again if you must , cause I made a few cockups a couple of times but got it right the third time
Thanks!
Whats the difference between the o2 UK and o2 DE ROMs aside the language?
I've also updated my phone and it worked flawlessly!
It's even now offering the NoDo update officially from MS, I presume because the phone is now unbranded.
Unbranding made a big difference to my phone, stripping the o2 logo off the bootup sequence and taking the crappy Yahoo search off IE.
Very happy with the improvement
Ok, i hope its not off-topic, but i there seems to be too many threads that got me confused ( some with deleted op )
I am getting a T-Mobile unlocked hd7, question is .. is there a way to unbrand and get NoDo ? If i do it will it get locked again ? ( i used unlock code to unlock it )
Please if it has been posted before, just guide me to the threads i should read.

Did you remove netlock? A unlocked phone will allow you to side load apps. T-Mobile wouldnt do that (its not legal).
I called mobile today to get my HD7 unlocked wil try this
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express
By unlocked i meant SIM-unlocked -.-'

Hi all, I'm approaching to the world of htc hd7 for the first time... I' m waiting for my new htc hd7 t-mobile coming in a few days and I'm asking if there's any way to debrand it and install a clean european rom with my language (I'm from Italy)... Can you tell me where to find the instructions and which is the last european rom? thanks in advance.
Andrea.
I mean "unbrand" not debrand

I have almost the same issue. I'm brazillian and the English keyboard doesn't have "ã" and "õ" characteres... I want to use Spanish keyboard because of this, so... Anyone could help?
Is it a US T-Mobile HD7?
If so, I believe a goldcard is the only way to debrand. See this thread.
I'm still trying to figure out if the benefits (quicker updates, etc.) outweigh the issues introduced by using a European radio.

Yes It's a T-Mobile US, I looked at that thread... It's not so easy and It needs some items as an usb y-cable, a sd card, a card reader, another smartphone with android...
thanks anyway...
Ok, so my question is what if I unlock my phone? Is it just the same as De-branding my Galaxy S?
I debranded my Galaxy S because it was branded by Tmobile. I wanted to get the latest android versions, so I had to do that. (Tmobile NL always comes with the phone updates after half a year if not a year)
So now my question is, is unlocking the bootloader the same as de-branding? When the 4.2 update comes I would love to have it and not wait 3 years.
Thank you for reading, hope someone can give me advice or tips!
Unlocking the bootloader does not de-brand your phone, nor does making it simlock free.
I have a simlock free Xperia Z with a unlocked boot loader and also use T-mobile, but the T-mobile bootsplash is still there.
Iam pretty sure there must be ways to remove the splash when unlocked, but just unlocking itself will not de-brand it.
Lets hope someone can tell us how to get rid of this.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Ah oke, that clears some up. Now i just have to find a way to de-brand it. I hate the Tmobile brand. Just because they are just so late with their updates.... I buy a new phone and want to keep up-to-date.... Not get out-dated
To get rid of the T-Mobile stuff you just need to flash an unbranded firmware to your phone. Check the forums for how to do all that.

That makes sense. Do you think it will slow down my phone or something like that? Or lower the battery life?
Iam kinda sure it will not slow down the phone.
However I will wait for 4.2 to release and will then flash a unbranded firmware.
If not to many bugs are reported in 4.2 that is, else I will stay on 4.1 a little longer and perhaps look for a way to de-brand it then.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Good point, else we can install and install every week all our apps. :| I already found a solution for me so I dont need to break any Boot loaders: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190936 Hope it works and that I can use a Stoch 4.2 firmware from sony then!
Hi All,
I've seen a second hand I8190N (S3 mini) for sale that's locked to a UK carrier. I'm wondering if I can just flash the firmware with the unbranded French firmware...
I8190NXXAMG1.LPMAMG2 ( I believe)
so I can use it with French carriers?
I've had a read and a lot of people obviously say use the one for your carrier for warranty purposes. I'm not bothered about warranty in this case.
I did read one post saying you can flash any ROM but the phone will remain SIM locked?
There's so much info out there I'm struggling to find an answer. Anyone know the answer or point me at it?

Just read all that. No one posted back to say it worked for their s3 mini. (7 pages of attempts though.)
