Unlocking Bootloader - Sony Xperia ZR

Is there anyway unlocking bootloader without sony knowing it?

Flashtool has this feature, but since I've never done it that way I don't know if the unlocking code is still required for that procedure. If yes, you'll have no choice because the code provided by Sony seems depending on the IMEI so it may be IMEI specific... this is a supposition that needs to be confirmed.

Its ok.You can use flashtool for unlocking your bootloader.

Unlocking code is still required by flashtool as well.....

Bootloader unlock

Quick question... I'm about to crack open the bootloader and I have already backed up my partition so that I can restore my DRM when needed.
What I'm asking though is this, if ever I need to send it off for repairs, will the pure fact that I registered it with Sony, to get the unlock code, cause warranty problem?
Xperia Z
Possibly, if you do actually unlock it.
From me to you.

[Q] Help: Sony Xperia Z1 says cannot unlock bootloader

How can I install a custom ROM without an unlocked bootloader?
My phone says its bootloader cannot be unlocked
Mine too , it's must to be a solution to unlock the bootloader...
No, there is no solution
If it says it cannot be unlocked then it cannot be unlocked
Look in the development section for stock based custom roms that can be installed with a locked bootloader
To my experience it needs to be sim unlocked first in order to be bootloader unlocked. In a Xperia Z it said it couldn't unlock bootloader, i purchased unlock code, got it unlocked and then reflashed stock image. After that the status on "bootloader unlock allowed" was changed to yes.

Please provide proof of that, because this has never happened before and would be fantastic news
Also, some sim locked phones can have bootloaders unlocked and some sim free phones have bootloaders that cannot be unlocked. SO your logic is wrong.

Can't provide proof as 1) the bootloader was already unlocked 2) I don't even have the phone anymore.
I don't know if you find my logic right or wrong it was what happened to MY experience with one phone.
I'm pretty sure devs can give you a technical explanation about why it can or can't happen.

OK thanks.
I know what the devs will say. They will say it cant happen. This has been talked about ad infinitum across various xperia devices.
Also, if your boot was already unlocked then how did you know the status changed?
Thanks anyway.

When i got the phone (telcel mexico) it said the bootloader was not allowed to be unlocked.
I purchased an unlock code. Entered the code, unlocked the phone.
I flashed an upgraded FW via FTF
typed *#*#SERVICE#*#* and boom bootloader unlock statys changed to yes
That's how i know the status changed. So basically that's my story. I thought it could work with every device.
@gregbradley maybe the sim unlock method really works to change unlock bootloader status YES..bcs it works for some sony device, and we need to test this on Z1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896553
There is nothing in that thread that confirms this. Plus the test point method to unofficially unlock the bootloader was stopped by Sony nearly 2 years ago.
But please, delve into this again if you want. But trust me it is a dead end and does not work. If it was easy as sim unlocking and flashing a ftf do you not think that would have been done by now.
Some seriously good devs have been working on this ever since the test point method was closed.

[Q] Bootloader not allowed

Hi,
I have a Sony Xperia SP and to perform all the procedures to unlock the Bootloader in the initial part that says if our machine can unlock the bootloader or not , mine says it is not allowed .
My questions are:
Why is this unlock on some devices is allowed and others not?
Even if the information that shows my device , it is not possible to unlock the bootloader , I wonder if there's another way to do it or even impossible to do ?
hug
Your service provider doesn't want you to unlock your bootloader and there is no way of unlocking if it says not allowed.

Thank you!
By the way... do you now if its possible, someday, create the version 4.4 KitKat in *.ftf extension so I can install through the Flashtool?
In simple words no. But you can install cm11 on locked bootloaders. Just search for it in the development sections.
Hit thanks if helped.

I also have the bootloader status set to NO.At the moment, there is no way to make it say YES,unless you SIM unlock it(It must work,as in most cases it is the SIM lock which changes the status to NO).

Dangers of unlocking?

Hello,
My Z3C has bootloader unlock allowed: no.
Is there any problem if I try to unlock it anyway?
Thanks!

No there is no problem, you probably won't be able to unlock it and that will be it.
Of course just remember that unlocking your bootloader will permanently disable some DRM-protected features.
The way around that is just to use the root exploit and backup the TA partition (good guide here).
If it say unlock allowed no, there is no way to unlock it so no point trying. But no trying won't do any harm, it's just pointless.
Some people were reporting that after sending in their phone for some hardware issues the phone they got back (the same one) had changed to booloader unlock allow yes. So this could be your last resort if you are lucky and willing to wait a bit it might work. Just make up some hardware issue like random crashes, rebooting or something.
And save your TA partition if you do that so maybe someone in this forum can spot the changes of before vs afterwards which would point in the direction what actually changes.

Bootloader re-locked after OTA update

Hey, for a reasons I needed to do ota update (reflashed stock recovery[extracted from matching update] before doing so), now when im trying to reinstall TWRP i've noticed that my bootloader re-locked on its own.
Was this supposed to happen? iirc people keep telling you that you can't relock bootloader without it's backup from locked state.
It's quite annoying that it happen since I did pay for unlock via DC unlocker and now huawei stopped distributing unlock codes so I'll probably need to pay DC again.
Cheers!
edit: DC unlocker did not even allow me to Unlock bootloader, only thing i saw was Lock bootloader, but there was option to "Read bootloader code" (no credits needed) and I managed to unlock bootloader again using fastboot and this code

This is a flag in OTA update, it may be present or not (now seems to be always enforced, new Huawei policy) that OTA locks Bootloader
You cannot disable this flag in OTA package
Bootloader is not relocked but really locked (better for those who go to service under warranty)
Bootloader code is unique for your device.
No matter did you obtain it from Huawei or DC, you have TO KEEP it, you don't need to pay, read or ask again, just use the same bootloader code for the same phone for the lifetime of your phone

thanks for the answer, didnt know about flag nor that bootloader unlock code can be used multiple times(and that its paired with HW)
nevertheless, as I said in my edit I managed to get my unlock code for free with dc unlocker

that's what I suspect, but sadly can't confirm or deny. I think I didn't even see the code itself when I used it for the first time due to the fact that unlock process was automatized within DC unlocker's client app, so all I had to do was to prepare the phone and press Unlock Bootloader within the client

I used DC client once (4 Euros), I obtained the code (saved it for future) and used in Fastboot to unlock Bootloader just like previously for the other Huawei phone whose code I obtained for free from Huawei (before they closed this service)
