Hi
I just got my nexus 7, and after few hour of using it I have noticed a yellow spot or tint in my screen at the bottom left corner.
its visible on white backgrounds.
im gonna go to store tomorrow and see if I can get a new unit.
UPDATE: I uploaded a pic of it
does anyone have the same issue?
What store did you buy it from? I seen a lot of complaints about this from folks who purchased at retail stores. Mine was purchase from Google and still waiting on it.

Got it from Sam's club.
I only have the problem when I use the device for long time. I was charging it for couple hours then when I turned it on the screen was fine but after 15 minutes of reading the spots came back.

I got two from sams in IL. Didn't notice any problems on either of em. At least not yet
can you post a picture?
I also got mine from Sams last Friday (Mckinney, Texas) and its perfect with no issues or blemishes. Well, except for having to find a work around for Flash, but that goes without saying. Lol A little fiddling around fixed that though.
These are the pics
U can see the tint on the bottom left also on the whole left edge of the screen.

My s2 haves the same
I went back to Sam's club and they looked at the device and saw the yellow spots on the screen. It took me 15 minutes to walk out of the door with a new unit.
Let's hope this doesn't happen to anyone.

The tint appeared after about one hour of using it, and it gets worse when you use it more than that!!!

This was the first thing i noticed when using my Nexus 7 for a couple of hours. Two spots in two corners, very noticeble with white background.
However I remember hearing about other devices with LCD screens having the same problem initially (iphone 4 one of the devices if I remember) but would dissapear over time. So I thought I would give it some time.
The next day I couldn't see any of the spots and I've not seen it since. This was two weeks ago.

Mine seem to get worse the longer I use the device. I called support and they are issuing me an RMA for "yellowing", but the cart-link system was down and I was instructed to call again tomorrow.
I received my shipment today.
The very first thing I did after signing in was update the system to 4.1.1.
After playing for a few minutes I noticed a dead or stuck pixel on the right side of the screen. I ran the display test app and found another dead pixel in the middle of the screen.
I tried the camera with Google hangouts and Skype and all I get is garbled green signal. Using the nexus 7 camera launched yielded the same result.
Doing a full factory reset did not fix the problems.
Needless to say this going back. I'm disappointed that this excellent device is having these quality issues.
I have a single dead pixel on the very edge. It's only visible on a completely black screen so I'm gonna live with it.
Good luck with your return.

I would recommend you get it exchanged. At the end of the day its still a defect. Maybe wait a little while so they have more stock to ship another one.

I got mine from staples so I'll have to deal with them. I'll wait until they have stock.

They have a little thing in the booklet. I think its referring to dead pixels. It was kind of confusing tho

I got 2 dead pixels as well. But it is not noticeable unless you load a black screen. So LG refuses to repair nor replace my phone. Smh

I got 1 small RED DOT on mi LCD screen, i found it just turning on my O4XHD. It only appears when the screen in completely in a dark or black image. Very weird.
This is an open poll for everyone, share your experience with those nasty pixels, you got one? Two? More? None? :fingers-crossed:
No dead pixels here. But with such high PPI, i think it might be hard to notice a single bad pixel.
None that I can see.
None for me also very happy.
I got one and it's going back as soon as they have more in stock..

Unfortunately they say that up to two dead pixels is normal so they will not replace it

Another quick way to ensure that your screen is ok is the service menu,
directly from the dialer press:
*#*#7378423#*#*
then under the "service tests" choose "display" and tap on the screen,
the stuck pixels can be found easily on black and white screen tests.
"Does Your Z Transform Into A Microwave Oven?"
The Z; the phone that keeps on giving Next poll:
- YES! : ██████████ 70%
- Not Yet! : █████ 20%
- No : ██ 10%
2 Z's both with dead pixels. The guy in the store was really patronising earlier. Will visit him again tomorrow!

Very important ! --> Check it on FULL brightness , a pixel mistake shows then only .....
Use Dead Pixel Test (UJACHA) app from Plays Store.
I test 2 xperia z with 2 bright pixel on each phone until the third one with none.
The best way to test it is by looking at the start up screen when it was black and bright. You may have to restart the phone many times to make sure.
Sony screen looks very nice but always have the bright pixel problem. I encountered the same thing when I purchased the first Sony Xperia S. Always got these with Japanese phone.

Well, I thought that my XZ had one dead pixel, but after closer examination, I'm sure it's a screen protector manufacturing flaw. When you look at it straight farward it looks like a black pixel, but when you look at an angle, that the light reflects from the surface this dot starts to shine. It' s like a piece of glitter embeded in screen protector :/

"Normal"
are you kidding me?
wtf is with the tech world now...
Just took my Z back to cpw. New one will be delivered on Tuesday. Fingers crossed for no dead pixels! !
What I did notice though is that my first 3 Z's had no seals on the boxes. Yesterday cpw had some more that were factory sealed. Must be a different batch. The Z is sellung like hotcakes as they were out of stock today.
Dead pixels is a trivial matter and most people wouldnt even notice. But they stand out like a saw thumb to me and irritate the hell out of me.
To check... use dull brightess, turn off adaptive lighting and useba black image

hello everyone. had the one for 3 weeks now. I just noticed a very small blue dot almost at the center of my screen when taking pics or recording videos. I could only see it on camera mode though. on home screen it does not appear. ran dead pixel test and did not find anything. I been searching forums and found nothing similiar . I'm debating on returning it or is there a fix for this. I'm completely stock, unrooted for now.
Is it in your photos?
Yes. I just tried it.

If u look at the same spot where the dot is and compare it to the app drawer, u can't see it.

Just curious here but does it show on both front and back camera's or just one?

Just on the rear facing one. I hope it's a software issue, not hardware . I don't want a refurbished one.

At this stage, you likely won't get a refurb.
That said, it looks like your camera actually has a dead sensor. Not sure what, if anything, you can do to try to clear it up short of taking in the phone.
It obviously isn't the screen.
Ya, I am no genius on this subject by no means but that pixel would be considered stuck instead of a dead pixel. If it is on the software end of things then going through the various colorize settings in that particular camera mode and taking snapshots may release it. Maybe even a factory reset may release it back to normal.
Then again it may be a warning sign that that pixel is about to go dead too I guess. I really hope you get this cleared up for sure and I for one would be very curious as to just what is going on here. Thanks.
Edit: referring to the camera may have a dead sensor as said above, I would have thought that it would have shown that way with recording too. Maybe not though...
Thanks guys I'll try to take it back as soon as I can

My HTC One has the exact same issue but it's on the very edge of the screen so much less offensive then where yours is.
It's a hot pixel on the camera sensor that only shows up when the ISO is cranked up. For DSLR's, software (at the factory or even on camera) is used to "map out" these hot pixels. Perhaps we have something similar on our phones that can be accessed.. have you tried a hard reset?
Blue dot
Yeah I recently purchased mine but unlocked and I have the same problem, seems to happen when it is on high ISO. I was reading into the hot pixel thing which happens in other cameras, but they say they go away but can persist. I am debating to wait or exchange it, but these phones are back-ordered :/
Considering that your hot pixel is near the center of the screen, I would consider exchanging it (if possible). While it's true that they can sometimes go away on their own, my experience (with DSLR's at least) has led me to not rely on this happening (I have a few hot pixels on my DSLR that have appeared and NOT gone away in the last few years).
I have a similar problem I have a little green dot on the corner of my screen
