[Q] How to unlock Samsung Note 3 SM-N900A At&t - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried everything on these forums to unlock my Note 3 SM-N900A At&t to use on Tmobile network but cannot get it to unlock. I've even tried some of those paid sites but they never got back with me. Is it impossible or is there a new way of doing it I haven't tried? Any suggestion?
thank,

Cellunlocker.net i know it works from experience
It will take a few hours to get your code, maybe overnight at most

Do you need root though? I thought you needed region unlocker.

Oh okay. Was there any tax? Sorry for all the questions just want to know all this before paying to unlock sorry. Did the apn settings automatically do itself or you had to set them? And is the signal strength good for you?

No tax for me, but I live in Oregon, and theres no sales tax. so i dont know about that.
Yeah the APN settings changed itself to tmobile's LTE settings. kinda weird but it did.
Signal strength is based on your network, not really your phone, but I get LTE 80-90% of the time from the places that I go to (mostly in cities and urban areas)
Please press thanks if I helped.
Oh okay I'm definitely going to be ordering the unlock code later then. Thank you very much

no, ATT and tmoble share the same blacklist.
sell it on ebay for like 500 and buy another note 3. (remember to include that its bad esn or else you'll be charged with fraud)
I never sold anything on eBay before. Is it easy to put a phone on eBay?

if course you wouldnt get over the air update... you need to update it manually...
and if you're too lazy to do it manually, you can always plug in a working ATT simcard for it to update then switch back to your tmoible sim card.
Oh okay. Doing it manually is safe right? And can you please show me proof of the unlocking if that's alright. Thank you

I checked reviews on their website and a lot of people has been ripped off.
They also used other couple names, Unlock-Code-Warehouse.com, Unlock-Code-World.com, TheUnlockDepot.com
Well unfortunately, there is no way to do it yourself without MI9 or earlier firmware. You will either have to contact AT&T or buy it from a legit seller.

Where did you get the unlock code?

From eBay and cellunlucker website and the both code are the same
Be careful I believe if you eneyer it incorrectly to many times you will permanently lock phone
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
So no solution if that happen
Where did you buy the phone? If you paid full price from AT&T, they'll give you the unlock code. I think there might even be an ATT webpage where you can automatically have it emailed to you.

I have an S4 from AT&T and I have custom roms on it. Unlocked it last month after finally end of 2 year contract.
So no, you dont need stock rom. But if you enter it incorrectly and wont unlock after 5 tries, your device is then HARD LOCKED to that network(AT&T) and will need some master unlock code or something. Cellunlocker mentioned that somewhere on their page. I'm not sure who can sell you one of those master codes though.
Thank you so much just order that method from them I hope it work

T-Mobile Note 9 to Verizon

Hi guys,
I bought the note 9 directly from Samsung and it was a T-mobile version. I just switched to Verizon but I can't use the note 9 because it's locked to T-mobile. I've called T-mobile multiple times and they said i have to do it through the app but the app keeps telling me that the unlock has failed. I have also called samsung countless times and they told me that the Note 9 that i purchased was designed to be used for T-mobile and there is no unlocking it. I doubt that this is true. What are my options here? Can i flash the unlocked firmware if so, where can i find it? Thanks in advance for the help.

I reached out to both of them. Samsung did not do sh*t. They said they can't do anything since it was designed to work with T-mobile only. I don't buy that. It's same hardware so there has to be a way to flash it.

Well flashing it may not remove the SIM lock. But if you can't get resolved then I suggest you get a lawyer and see where it goes.

I pretty sure a T-Mobile Note 9 will not work on Verizon due to the frequencies being different and each phone have different radio software that includes specific hardware. The only phone I am aware of that runs on both is the Pixel.

The installation of a specific carrier rom will unlock the modem to allow it to work on a given carriers network. Just do your research before you start flashing roms.

Well, i know how to flash roms and how odin works. So should I root it and flash Verizon's rom?
Please do the research.
Rooting the device has nothing to do with flashing a different carrier's rom.

I had this problem before on another phone. Go on Twitter and send tweet to John Legere from T-Mobile that you can't unlock your paid off phone, someone from Tmobile will contact you to get it unlocked. You can probably also send a tweet to T-mobile too, but I never tried them.
If you bought it from Samsung directly for T-Mobile it should be a N960U1 for an unlocked device or a N960U locked on T-Mobile
Which device do you have?

I'm pretty sure this statement is inaccurate. As far as I know, all N960U carrier models (i.e. Verizon, TMobile, ATT, etc) have the same hardware.

Flashing a different firmware will do absolutely nothing for the SIM Lock situation.
Also,if you're currently on a temporary unlock, that may be holding things up as well.
Typically,T-Mobile has a 40 day period to where you need for the phone to be active on their network before they will grant a SIM Unlock, not sure if this applies to devices bought directly from Samsung, but,it still could be why you're having issues.
You have two options:
1) Continue contacting T-Mobile regarding the issue,be prepared to show 'em your receipt/etc... proving you've bought the phone from Samsung & that it is indeed paid off. Call during typical office hrs on weekdays to ensure you get your former regional "Team Of Experts",I've found T-Mo's Customer Care has greatly improved since they went this route.
2) Use a paid device unlock service & make sure what you buy is T-Mobile Note 9 specific.
Anything else will not work. Google is your friend,as well as searching here in the Note 9 forums for services that have been recommended by the membership here.
Stay on the T-Mobile firmware until the device is permanently unlocked,I'm not sure that side-loading the device unlock .apk will work on non-T-Mobile firmware.
Depending on the method of payment you used, you may have some buyer protection regarding a return/refund,but,I'd use that as a last resort if after a week or so you get no results.
I just had a replacement and it was locked on tmobile, when I was getting the failed to unlock was because it wasn't enough time activated on their network after a week of use I was able to successfully permanent unlock my note 9
