I ordered, but hasn't been sent yet. I didn't see another topic on this thread for this item. Hopefully it is produced. It looks really nice and I'm intrigued by how it plans to hold device to the charger. The g2 with the smooth back should hold nicely.

The Verizon model does....

seems to be another crowd source funded project. They have a long ways to go before meeting their goal to start production.

Looks nice though. hope they'll succeed.
Yeah, I have a feeling of it does make it to production, the metal base probably will not. It'll still be pretty nice with a plastic base.

How is the magnet supposed to keep the phone on the charging pad without damaging the internal memory? I always thought magnets + storage = bad news.
Ryoma1337, that dates back to hard disk drives, solid state memory is not effected by magnets.

I was kind of hoping that since Amazon has it listed, somehow it held a little credibility.

To be honest, this just seems too good to be true. But if it is true, it definitely got my money. I just find it skeptical that a magnet can hold the phone on with no problems with all the vibrations and such a car has.
I got in on the air dock campaign. Looks promising. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-air-dock

Ryoma1337, You would be surprised. On my gnex I installed the palm touchstone coil and 10 1/8x1/32 inch rare earth magnets inside the battery cover and it was perfect. Never had a single instance of the phone falling off touchstone base. I could hold upside down and gently shake and it wouldn't budge. I wish the touchstone was qi so I could use it on the g2.

Received mine about a month ago. Love it. Removing the phone can b kinda tricky the sticky pad really sticks well. There's also a magnet built into it.

You'd think they'd check this out before production. Even on a cheap £15 stand.

Why? Google had nothing to do with it.
I've emailed in to get it returned. The seller is stating that they sent the wrong one, but I've kind of lost my faith in it. Might get a folio case thing instead.
It is funny that they have turned the USB connector the different way up to other phones and tablets I've used. Maybe the manufacturer thought Asus would follow with the general rule and got caught out.
Upside down USB and really picky with chargers... What'll come up next?

Why don't they charge $6 more and put the NFC antenna on these things? The batteries are great, but without NFC, going forward are going to lose my business.
Does anyone know where to buy these apart from Amazon (for non US buyers)

Mine came with a piece of crap NFC that didn't even work. I ended up using the one from the stock case and scotch taped it to the phone. Lol works just like the OEM backplate now. It only looks bad when you show off the battery.
Funny enough I've had four different backplates and the only two that worked were the OEM ones.

Has anyone found replacement battery doors/backs for the Verizon G2 anywhere? Looking for either a stock/OEM one or different looking aftermarket ones. Surprised there aren't a ton of different looking and different material ones on eBay and Amazon. Nothing but ugly cases and ugly skins - and not even many of those.
Imagine a replacement back that is a soft touch type material like the Nexus 5, and with no ugly logos? Not much hope though since there don't seem to be any now...

I just got a flip cover case from Poetic Cases. It does not have the "quick view" window, but also doesn't cost 50 bucks (only 16). There are photos of it in the accessories section.
It does trip the quick view sensor so you don't have to use the knock on.

Omg I thought it was just me! For a while, every time I used my Nexus 4 it looked bent to the back until my eyes got used to it. With a case on the Flex, (or at least my case) the curve is less prominent so it helps if you switch to a flat phone every now and then.

I told this to my friend when I was using his note 2. The corners look like they're bending out and theres a ball in the center. So weird. kind of like convex and our phones are concave
