So I have been browsing through some threads and found a couple of interesting apps, for example the Torque app where you can see your car velocimeter through your phone's screen and some other app where you can control your house's lights. I would like suggestions of cool, usable apps. If someone can help I would appreciate it!

Anyone found an app that actualy works for 4.3, anyone maybe knows how to modify phone.apk, whatever, I really miss the functionality from AOSP and Sense. Any suggestions, is there some kind of xposed mod for this?
I am using exdialer instead of the native one. This has some plugins that you can activate, one of those being vibrate on answer/end... Try it out.

I tried that one but I just can't live with a non stock app that is supposed to be stock,it's a medical condition.
I was hoping for a DIY mod or maybe xposed mod...I know,optimistic:fingers-crossed:.
There is the GravityBox Xposed module which has something related to vibration during call.
Also, the plugin for exdialer is a stand-alone apk that is messing with some api in the phone.apk .... it has nothing to do with exDialer itself ... maybe you should just put that one .
Snapshot from GravityBox settings ...

I will most definitly try just the plugin itself, thank you for the tip.
As for the module goes, I already requested this feature in one of the next version so, the dev wrote that he'll look into it, so I've got my hopes up.
I was hoping that enabling or disabling the feature would make the call answer vibrate but I guess it's only for disabling it so...I'll see what the dev can do. In the meantime, I'll try the plugin:good:.
EDIT: Awesome, the plugin works, thank you very very much. I installed the plugin but there is no way to open it. So I had to install the main app as well, set the root priviliges for the plugin, uninstalled the main app and the plugin still works...very happy .

Does anyone know the name of the process that monitors acoustic levels and pops up when you turn the volume to max on headphones? On my Razr Maxx it was it's own app and I used Disable Service to stop it from warning me EVERY time.
I use a Tasker app to set volume to max in my car when streaming to bluetooth and on KitKat it only goes to about 75% volume, and I have to manually slide it up to max and press OK for it to actually change.
I can see it on my Droid Razr Maxx on JB 4.1.2 as a standalone app (can't disable from regular settings menu) but I could disable the service that monitored it. I'm guessing it's integrated into Android System or System UI now and I haven't taken the time to look at every single service in there to see which it is. Just curious if anyone else has found it yet, or another way to stop it from interfering with my desire to listen to satanic music at obscene volumes.
Thanks!
Do you reboot frequently? Because I only get that prompt once, and then it never comes up again until I reboot the phone.

Yes very annoying. It shouldn't even be on for a bluetooth. Any way to disable it without root?

I use one profile to detect if I'm in the car or not. It checks if I'm connected to my bluetooth device in the car and sets a variable %INTHECAR to yes.
The actual Pandora task runs if %INTHECAR is yes and the time is between 9am and 6am (I listen to a local morning radio show on my drive to work instead of Pandora, so don't launch if it the morning show is on).
The actions for the Pandora task are:
Load App - Pandora
Wait - 5 seconds (this accounts for Android trying to reset Pandora to the previous volume you listened at)
Media Volume - 15
When bluetooth disconnects, %INTHECAR is set to no, and there is an exit task that will kill Pandora and revert some settings:
Media Volume - 0
Taskkill - Method: Extreme - Pandora
Go Home - Page 0 -- IF %SCREEN ~ off
I use the Taskkill app which adds kill support to Tasker. The built in option doesn't work anymore since like Android 4.1 or 4.2.
I have other profiles that run off of the %INTHECAR variable (auto SMS reply is one), which is why I have it set out on two different profiles.
I'd be happy to answer any questions that anyone has.

And in kit kat in moto x you will don't be able to find that service, because all of the services that was in a standalone app in jelly bean are integrated in kit kat in one process: android OS

Well first off, thank you. I've used CyanogenMod before and this adds basically all the stuff I liked from it to my phone, and more.
Just to clarify, the setting in Gravity Box looks like it's defaulted to off for the audio warning. Is the unchecked state what I need for off?
Thanks again!

OK thanks. As far as I can tell, I better not install it. I have SlapMyMoto 4.4 rooted installed on my locked phone. I do not have CWM installed either and the way the thread reads, Gravity Box may or may not be compatible with my Moto X.

I rooted with SlapMyMoto 0.5c and have 4.4, with Xposed and Gravity Box and it works fine. You do need to disable write protection for Xposed to work properly, though.
Another question about Gravity Box.. How does it impact battery life? It seems like the stuff it does (battery look/feel, additional context in menus, etc) are stuff that's already there, but "hidden". With it, I've already been able to remove two existing apps from my phone, one I used for torch and another I used for a reboot button. I also turned on the network traffic monitor in the statusbar.
I assume since so many people use it that it must not take too much battery, but who knows.

I've noticed no increased battery use. But then I'm also not turning on features that require additional power. When KitKat was introduced someone at Google was quoted in a press release who said the network activity indicators in the status bar consumed a "surprising" amount of resources. If that's true, then I should think turning them back on would entail a bit of a battery hit.

Oh yes - I would be very interested. I just have to wait for another 1-2 months until my car (A4) with AA/CarPlay support will be delivered.
Unfortunately I am not a developer but I'd be one of your first supporters and I will gladly test anything you guys develop .
Since Android Auto has a lot of limitations, an exposed module would be the best way to get rid of them.
Not a lot of replies. Looks like there are still not enough people who have Android Auto . We'll have to wait until it catches on I guess.
yes - I think so, too. But I am also still hoping, that manos78 will start the development anyway
Absolutely. For example here maps for Android Auto would be awesome
would also love to see some android auto mods
Me too !
Let me know if I can help by anyway
I'm interested.
I've got a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX on the way, so I'll be looking at doing some Xposed work, depending on what functionality is missing. Not everything can be done via Xposed (like making Waze work over AA), but it would be good to get an idea of what sort of additional functionality people are looking for on the AA platform.

Hey, it would be great to get rid of the limitation of only viewing few entries in a list when scrolling... I believe this is tracked via GPS, so it would be great to feedback a velocity of 0 to this process only.

Is there an error message shown when you've hit this limitation? I've found "Unlimited browsing is disabled because car is not parked." in the AA apk, but I'm not sure if that's the proper verbiage when it's limiting listview scrolling.

Yes. If you've reached the tap limit you'll get a "you cannot continue browsing unless you're parked" message.

I still have my NEX on my workbench, so I can test this out later tonight. I believe it's in the AA SDK, so that individual apps don't have to determine if the vehicle is in motion or not. Shouldn't be too hard to work around.
Here's a request:
Would like to manage what apps show up on Android Auto (headunit)
For example, sideloaded apps currently do not show up

With the purchase of VMW the Boxer application are to presented the problem that now when you start the application shows us a notice that the app indicates that we can not use the application if you have installed the module Xposed, I hope you can find a solution to this problem, just as I will investigate possible solutions to share on this topic. Any help is welcome.
Basically we need a module that blocks VMware Boxer from finding any of the Xposed files. I have tried a lot of things but failed to even understand how the app goes about finding the Xposed.

Apologies for the late reply and my knowledge with this is very limited.
I do not know what is the process or what obfuscation methods are to be used. The maximum I had tried was an Xposed Module called Sudo Hide but it didn't work out. Uninstalling the Xposed Installer made no difference either. I also went about renaming most of the Xposed files (appending them with an X eg. Xposed.jar -> XXposed.jar) but it also had no effect. Not very clear on what else can be done to obfuscate this app completely from Xposed.

it's an email app which means it's running all the time
I have the same problem, still try to find the solution!!!
I experience this issue. I was excited to see boxer was purchased by vmware and anticipated stability fixes etc. When discovering that it refuses to run with xposed installed it was a huge letdown.
There should be an accept risk choice. Even my bank app works with rooted, but warns me.
Boxer was a great app until it got brought over by Vmware which in term own Airwatch mdm now. They have move boxes into their main stream mailbox so it will block any rooted or intrusive application

Make it simple. Go to settings / Apps and select the app and block notification under notification manu. This is what I have done for my smart watch app.
