Hello I'm having a small problem with my N7. For some reason and this only happens on 4.4 kitkat, before the boot animation but after the google logo with the lock on it the screen flashing pink for a second then proceeds to the boot animation. I have no idea why this happens. When I downgraded to 4.3 the problem goes away. I even unrooted then upgraded to 4.4 and the pink screen comes back. If anyone has a fix please let me know, it's not a major issue just a little annoyance..
.....have a look at a few posts below from Primeney13......sounds just the same.....

Simple question. Does anyone else using THS's ICS build think you have to hold the phone a bit too far away from your face for it to work.
What have you done to improve its performance.
When the FaceUnlock App records ur face try to hold ur phone in different intervals.
Sry for my englisch

Yeah, I've done from various distances and angles.
Most times the error isn't "I didn't recognize you" it is "I didn't see a face" and holding it farther away works better, but its terribly uncomfortable.
I have recently upgraded my LG Optimus 4X HD to Jelly Bean, android version 4.1.2, kernal version 3.1.10. I have been receiving some display issues frequently without interacting with the phone. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and the solution for this issue.
When the issue occurs, i usually restart my phone so there are no problems with the pixels. I can still interact with my phone normally when this issue occurs as well, but i usually restart it immediately.
Any suggestions?
And thanks for all answers
Maybe you just need to reset your phone from recovery and clear cache partition.. When upgrading from one platform to newer it is wise to go with phone reset, many people do not do this because of bunch of applications and games and they do not have problems or lags or something similar..but rest of the people does.. And maybe is just bad flash, try to reflash..
Hmmm ..but it does not look good..it looks like classical pc vga artifacts from overheated gpu.. ( i do not say that it is! )

I would first try something quick and simple. Try reflashing firmware and if you can do a full factory reset.
Or load up the built in recovery by turning the phone off. Then turning it back on with volume down and power. Release the power when you see the screen come on (keep holding volume down)
In the recovery use the volume keys to highlight the options and power to select.
Highlight factory data reset and then highlight wipe NVpartition. Then reboot

Did you resolve screen issue?
i think anyone will notice that major bug sooner or later with lg's linux kernel 3.1.10
might be triggered by an overheated or overclocked gpu which can result into displaying errors.
i noticed the area around the back camera/lg logo gets very hot and also on the oppsite side on the display.
but it only seems to happen when charging the phone, the graphics chipset is working and you are not using the phone. (but why should the graphics be active when not using the phone/display is off???)

Had the same issue with V20, had to roll back to V10H for now. Any updates on resolving the issue?
Thanks
I have tried factory restoring my phone, wiped NVpartition and cache, and the problem still has not been resolved.
The only time when the display does not screw up is when my phone is plugged into my computer. Maybe the battery takes part in this issue as well as the gpu?
I'll try and do something with the kernel and android version after i read up some threads about them because i have no idea on how to downgrade, etc.

You can try following the instructions here to downgrade:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134192
There is also another way through LG Flash Tools, but i cant seem to find the thread for it right now.
Is there a fix for this already known?

Are you suffering from the same problem as i am? LG Optimus 4X HD display issues?
I eventually stopped trying with flashing, etc, and i really do think my graphics card is faulty so i sent it back to Kogan where i bought it from.
They replied that the repairs should take at least 21 days.. looks like im stuck with my old Nokia X6 for the time being.

Good for you!
Hi guys,
Since I've updated my phone to 4.2.2 I get a weird tint of color on my phone. The tint is red or green. After I reunlock my screen from lockscreen it will turn back to normal. Am I the only one that noticed this?

No it isn't. It's giving users who don't clean flash problems. You seem hell bent on promoting "issues" that aren't real... they are user errors.
And why are you still adding exclamation marks to every sentence? It looks hideous.
The screen problems has to do with the white balance system I think

This is thing is driving me crazy from time..
Finally HTC decided to implement this function ( that is present in EVERY phone with flash) from 4.3 releases..
Now, why the hell they haven't included it also on GPE?
Nexus got it, S4 GPE got it.. why HTC no? is there a way to have it?
Where is the problem? in the kernel i assume.. right?
This has been driving me nuts too!! My old Galaxy Nexus has this and so does the Nexus 4 and 5. Did you find anything out about it? I would like to use AOSP based ROMs full time but for me this feature is a bit of a deal breaker.

OK, this is odd. I tried santod040's port of the HTC One M8 GPE ROM that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722134 and flash assisted focus WORKED!
It did behave a little strangely though. It would work in a dimly lit situation but not in a dark or pitch black situation. I have restored a Sense 6 backup and the flash assisted focus works in pitch black as does my wife's Nexus 4 with stock 4.4.2.
But... it DID WORK more than with any of the M7 GPE builds that I have tried.
Have you tried with flash on and not automatic? Maybe with forced ON it trigger also on pitch black !

I can't remember if I did... I think I did and it made no difference.
It also seemed that after trying to get the flash to fire for focus in a dark/very low light situation it would not work and then if you tried a "not so dark" situation it would not work until you closed and reopened the camera.
Hi guys and girls,
short question, but important:
Is the G800F a good shot? What are your experiences? A family member wants to buy a new phone (a mini version, because its mini ), so I recommended the S5 Mini.
Please tell me some negs and pros, before we buy the wrong phone..
S5 is brilliant, so I hope the mini is it, too..
Thank you
Marcus

Yes, I am also a flash-o-holic, but if the russian fw runs correctly on the german phone is the question.. (baseband f.e., kernel...)
sasukesama: You have a different phone. freibergisch speaks about S5 Mini (G800F) but your is S5 Mini (G800H). 5.1.1 is not available on G800F yet so don't confuse him.

make a backup for the efs in case you lost the sim and restore it
all other things are the same no need to worry
The phone is not in my hands then, I can not flash it because of 600 kilometers between us so the phone gets lollipop when sammy released it.. Would it be mine, I would flash cm or similar one
We hope that sammy really pushes the update out.. Talking about marshmallow is a joy, just not more than a good joke, I believe...

I came from a desire hd to g800f (uk)
Run the software updates asap, fix quite a few issues.
Phone size is similar, but lighter.
Battery, providing you don't keep 4g/sync/gps on all the time you'll see 2-3 days normal use even more if you don't use it much. I've had 7 days so far.
Speed, well I had an old smart phone so this is incredible.
All apps I've used work well except sphere camera.
The only downsides, bundled Samsung crap and the emoticons in messages like to use mms over sms so watch out on that part.
The screen always turns on when receiving sms and I've accidentally gone through menus and called people from my pocket.
Depending which pocket you put it in, I find I press the screen on button in my right pocket so need to carry in my left.
Overall, it's good & well priced

Baterie no good
I come from S4 Mini. For me it was a big biiiig update: LED notification, larger screen, HD display, etc etc... S5 is by far better then the S4 in my eyes. BUT!
I am aswell a flash-o-holic - I always need to have the perfect rom for my uses - and the S4 Mini was in these terms godlike. My last flashings were a few month ago..
The S5 Mini especially the 800F isnt somehow... loved enough?.. to get some custom Roms. I am curently on CM12.1 by hennymcc (TY for your work!) and I am not really satisfied with this rom and it needs some improvements (photo quality, cant connect to my bt box..)
I really am thinking of turning back to stock...
Next consideration is: this device is forgotten by samsung.
5.1.1 will be released 2019! *jk
I am in sort of a pickle. I've had the S5 for a couple months now and I, too, come from a phone that had an amazing variety of choices when it came to ROMs. Unfortunately (I live in Germany), I have the G00F and there is only 1 ROM currently available (CM12.1) and it is still in beta development. The ROM was sort of useable but crashed quite a bit), but the bluetooth worked perfectly. I went back to the stock ROM and everything works great, but the bluetooth is terrible. The phone is pretty much unusable when the bluetooth is on and connected with headphones or something else. Other than bluetooth issues, the phone works perfectly.
how exactly is it unusable? did you try re-flashing your device or did you use any third party bluetooth apps?
Im curious cause I think I will really go back to stock.
