Anyone know if there's a carrying case similar to the snap in case (like for the original Droid & X) that will accommodate an extended battery? I've hunted VZW's site & e-bay but haven't found any except the pouch style.

Which battery are you using? I am using the Verizon Extended Battery and I bought this case (P/N VZW6300HOC) Won't let me post links yet. I used tin snips to cut out around the extended cover.
It's a Verizon extended battery, I got it & the back with my inc when they sent it as a replacement for my P. O. S. Devour.

Yeah they did the same for me. This is the best option I have seen so far.

I am using the 2150 battery and I just cut out the back of a rubber case. Works great and looks good.
I just looked at mine & its the 2150, I noticed another thread about modding a case to fit over the extended back & am going to try that. If it don't work I'm out, what, $20? It's worth a shot, I post pics if I can get the X style clip & case nodded to fit.

Not sure if its the same size but Sedio makes an extended case for the 3500mah. They don't sell it without the battery on their site, but if you email them asking about it they will offer the back piece standalone
The 3500 is thicker. Even if it fits, you're gaining the extra thickness of the 3500 case so you may as well get the 3500 battery, too.

Are you talking about the actual back cover to the battery, or an actual protective case that fits "over" the back cover?
Just went into my local Best Buy today. What did they just in..........Seidio Innocase II! $25. And to make life even better......1750mah battery! $40. The packaging says Platinum products something, but when you look on the bottom it says Seidio.
Getting the case was a no brainer. I had their cheap Rocketfish hard case and it's falling apart after a month and a half. The battery I'm still unsure about since some people say it makes a huge difference, some say it is no improvement. But thats for another thread
Hiya, I just purchased the 3600 mAh Mugen Power extended battery and the case it came with doesn't seem to have an antenna built into it. Would it be possible to fix on a thin strip of metal to the case and have it touch the connectors on the phone? If so, which metal would give the best reception or are the antennas more complex than just a line of wire? Thanks for any info!
mugen power accessories are really bad quality... i would buy it. if you do it yourself you can damage yourbdevice by short circuit...

Nice fail from mugen. No more calls with extended battery. Airplane mode will extend battery life even more
I think you should claim for a refund. According to your description their product is useless.
Thought Mugen was a high end battery supplier, but this is really an unacceptable major fail.
Thanks for sharing.

Hmm I need to rectify this mistake. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. After the initial few days of no responses I stopped monitoring this thread. I was at the beach when my roommate let me know the package had arrived. I asked him to open it and that's the conclusion he gave me when I asked. In the photos on the website you can't tell exactly so out of frantic worry and to find a solution I posted on here via my phone.
The truth is it's a pretty damn good battery. There is an antenna in the back cover and I'm not really sure why my friend thought there wasn't. Reception seems to be the same even though the antenna is bigger? Or maybe its around the same size if the stock back cover has it hidden in the plastic. The Mugen Power back case covers it with black tape. That aside, the cover feels fairly sturdy, though it could be improved a bit. Maybe some self modification would resolve that issue. It makes a bit more noise when you squeeze it than the stock cover but it doesn't feel like its going to come off or fracture.
As for the battery it seems to last me on average 40 hours before I feel the need to charge it. I'd say it isn't used heavily, more like my old phone where I just sent texts all day, called a few people and listened to music for a good number of hours. The longest I've had it go was 57 hours after letting it completely die. All in all I am quite satisfied aside from a few minor complaints about the case.
Once again I apologize about this, I jumped the gun. Also, the website I purchased it from http://www.pdaphone-battery.com will deliver if you order from them. I was worried it was a scam site since it looks extremely ghetto and no confirmation email or tracking number was sent to me after purchase. But as I said the shipping was speedy and they did send me what I ordered. They don't use https though which bugged me, however the paying part used PayPal so that was acceptable.
One more picture for better reference. I'll post a comparison picture of stock vs extended batter cover sizes if people are interested.
@Flappyraccoon
can we see inside the back cover/door...part of the signal ...TQ
You mean the bare antenna under the tape? Sure, I'll try to get pics up later today for ya.
Sorry but looks like a brick. What´s the weight of it now? Hope you´re satisfied.
I only pulled it back far enough so you could see what the antenna was made out of. Hope that is enough for ya. As for the second picture, when you look at it and feel with your fingers the antenna (I'm assuming its made from the same thin metal) is laid out in the path of the red line. It ends at the yellow line.
As for the phone brick, its not much heavier at least in my opinion. It also fits into my hand and doesn't wiggle around as much. This is because it fills in the gap between my hand and the phone. For me that is wonderful, maybe not for you .
Thats great news!
But I'm more excited about another battery - HLI-DesireZSL. It is originaly made for Desire Z, but MUGEN guys say its perfect in IS! It has 1800mAh, but use the standart HTC cover.
yoobau brand is another great battery ! but not come with higher mAH yet !

OMG is that a brick or the incS, how the hell do you use that!
It's not bad, and the 50+ hour battery life makes it worth it. Plus, that was before root and s-off . Now with an undervolted kernel and a debloated rom I'm hoping its a lot more ^_^.

Same place, Mugen has a slim 1900mAh
I have it in my DInc2 and it last much longer than the OE one
Thanks, I'll look into it.

Been using the 3600 Mugen for almost 3 weeks. I agree with Flappyraccoon that the phone fits into my hand better and feels less flimsy. I've dropped it less and reception difference is unnoticeable, but I live in a decent service region.
But the thin stock case does give me the appearance of having more sleek technology, and there's nothing like a dying battery at the end of one day's use for an excuse to stop talking with my girlfriend :$
I get about the same time out of it as Flappyraccoon. So much more comfortable using my phone whenever I want without worrying about later that evening. Easy to do a daily top up still but at my convenience, not the phone's urgency!

I'm thinking of getting one but which one mugen 3300mh
Or sedio 3500 mh
get the seidio battery. this is the second extended battery i've bought from them. (had one for my evo 4g) so far it's been great. i can go at least 2 days on a single charge. just make sure you follow the instructions to get the most out of it. i charged mine over night and just let it completely die out. i'm using the matr1x kernel and i have it clocked at 1.2
thanks I was planning on getting 3500
you won't be disappointed.

edit: just looked it up. its a big 'un. anybody know if the 1750mah battery is good? i know its not 3300mh but is it better than stock?
I'm sure those cheap ones are fine, but I'm willing to pay a bit more to help ease the thoughts of a cheap battery....catching fire or exploding.
I just picked up a seidio 3500 from best buy today. Its big, reminds me of the old 5100 series Nokia from some years back but hoping for the best. I love the no slip coating on it though!
Anyone know where I should go to get one of the 3500mh batteries in Australia?
I got mine from Amazon. Here's their shipping policy for Australia:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=596190
I got mine yesterday and I love it so far. It does make the phone thicker, but I think the thickness is welcome, its easier to hold the phone to my ear with my shoulder. The battery cover is nice too. Just make sure you order the correct battery, the 4G is different from the regular NS and a few people left comments about it not fitting on Amazon.

Update - Im getting a solid two days of heavy use with this battery. I love not having to run to the charger. The second charge got me to 56hrs and I was at 4% IIRC. I forgot to take a screenshot though Ill take one on this charge. By this time of day Id already be down into the 60-70% range on the stock battery, but right now Im sitting at 81%
Side note - I also picked up the Seidio spring belt clip, and it fits perfectly with the extended battery due to the way the battery cover is. Its very sturdy and still gives you access to the lock button, volume rocker, charging port and headphone jack. Its also got a nice felt lining to protect the screen. I got it on eBay for $18 shipped.
Almost forgot to add, Im running NSCollab oc'd to 200 (screen off) 1200 (screen on) on demand.
Are there any extended batteries that will work with the stock back cover?

Thats why I went with the Seidio. Its nowhere near as sexy as the stock battery cover, but the Mugen cover is much worse. Its just a big lump of plastic.
How different are the battery doors between the NS and the NS 4G? I need a couple of cheap extended batteries from eBay and the ones for the 4G are scarce and there are more choices for the NS.
Pretty sure its the exact same battery
Correct, its the same battery, but they use different doors if you go with an extended battery.
I accidently ordered the regular Nexus S extended from Amazon, luckily Amazon took care of me same day and re-routed the wrong package. <3 them.

Does it work with the car or media dock?
Sorry mate not sure, i wont get the dock, car mount or otterbox case untill a reliable source in Aus gets these for me which will be months away.
The Dock has a removable base that the phone sits in so I would probably think it should fit, I remember some1 else having some snap on cover for the D3 which worked in the Media Dock. Not sure about the car dock tho.

Does anybody know if the OtterBox can be used with the extended battery? Also, does it make the phone REALLY bulky? How's the top row of the keyboard?

You got it to fit with the extended battery? I received my Otterbox earlier today and I can't seem to get it.
Just got the Otterbox today and I can confirm it does fit with an extended battery. However the battery, which also came today, is a cheapo 2200mAh from amazon. It a bit bigger than the standard not sure if its the same size as the extended. I use it with the standard back and is not bulging out. Hopefully this is an extended and not labeled incorrectly.
[edit] This battery is not getting hot while charging. Its 77 and the standard it usually over 100. Though it may be misreported.
Let me know how the battery does compared to the stock! Mainly if its lasting longer than it or if the cheap batttery isn't worth the money.

Well the battery's not likely 2200mAh. It gets about the same life as the stock 1500. Still worth the 5 bucks I paid. It's GTMax brand if anyone's interested.

The vzw holster is crap as far as i'm concerned. When I got a replacement for a vibrate motor problem I noticed how the new one was much more sturdy when sliding out the keyboard. The case caused it to come loose. The clip near the back of the front camera is too tall and the screen pulled upwards.
Decided to take off the battery cover and see how it fits in the Otterbox. There's no problems it even feels a bit smaller almost as though there's no case on the back. Even tried dropping it from about a foot to see if the battery or sim or sdcard would fall out, didn't move at all. So there should be no problem with an extended battery. Someone at androidforums cut the battery cover to make the extended battery fit. Doesn't sound like a very good idea but I guess it's another option.
Hmm. I have no issues with the vzw one *knock on wood* and its on my hip all day. I have bumped into a few doors at work directly on it (as well as some stupid people in the metro) its held its ground so far.

Nice. Just wish they had it in
The OtterBox case can be found on amazon for around $25 shipped, it's well worth it. Best case I ever had for a phone. I got it to work with the Motorola extended battery, I just modified the stock battery cover with a dremel and alot of patience.
How much was actually 'shaved'? Did it go through the cover all the way and expose the insides at all?

Oh yeah almost the whole battery is exposed, but the inside of the otter box is silicon and it seal everything up and holds it tight. The original battery cover sacrificed his life so that I could use my extended battery. I still have the extended battery cover if I ever choose to take off the ottterbox. There's a thread at droidforums.net that I posted pics and all in.

Hi, thanks for the info. A little more detail regarding the Mugen extended battery for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note. 1.Is the NFC antennae in the door? (and working?) 2.Does the door fit securely? 3.Mugen only offers battery door in black color--Our Tmbo phones are navy blue, does the door match?
Thanks in advance, appreciate you taking the time!

Re color, I haven't carefully looked at the battery cases in the light to see a difference but it looks like it matches the T-Note to me. For me the only part of the note that 'has' color is the battery cover so by replacing it entirely with the Mugen battery cover I don't notice a mismatch. Also cannot see a difference between the bezel color and the mugen case cover (except for gloss).
Re nfc the antennas are there. I haven't tested it yet.
Re fit, one of the clips on my back cover is broken, so mine does not fit perfectly there (upper right corner over volume rocker when looking at the back of the phone). All other clips snap into place perfectly so I think a new/unbroken cover would work perectly.

I bought that same case on Amazon. It works on the extended battery I have, although my battery back is different than the Mugen (forgive me I don't know how to post a link but here is the info if anyone wants to search on Amazon):
Brand New 5200mAh Extended Battery+Dark Blue NFC Back Cover Door For att Samsung i717 Galaxy Note LTE by BestMatchSold by RKWireless and Fulfilled by Amazon.
I like the case you inquired about however the power button is very difficult to press. That's my only complaint, however I have not found any other case options for Notes w/ extended batteries!
FYI for anyone interested, I am pleased with my off brand battery. I originally wanted the Mugen because of their reputation and the flat back w/stand however Mugen could not tell me if the NFC on their door worked w my Tmobile Note. I didn't want to risk it for almost $100. The off brand battery was $20bucks (even cheaper now) and so far is great. Gives me twice the usage. Beware though as the NFC on my phone doesn't work though and am now waiting for a replcmt door from Rkwireless.

nfc works on my mugen 5400mah extended battery. I love this battery! I went camping this weeknd. Watched a full movie with full brightness, took over 50 pictures, used to it text, call, check email, check facebook and used it as a flashlight at night. I unplugged it at 4pm friday and only needed to plug it back in at 930am sunday (today). It was down to 9% at that point. thats 41.5hrs on a single charge. thank you mugen!
*mine came with a mugen pouch too. did anyone else get that? I hadn't heard of anyone else getting a pouch/case with the battery until i got mine. I ordered the hyperion case but they sent me the wrong one, but the pouch works until amazon can send me the right case.

How are the mugen extended batteries doing? Any other good options? I would like to use one for when I go out of town for business. I typically have to leave early in the morning and then return home later in the evening. I have trouble staying in one place long enough to charge my phone, and I keep forgetting the second battery I bought. It would be nice to snap the extended battery on the night before, charge it, and then not worry if I have enough juice to get back home without carrying extra wires, batteries etc. I could get an external 10,000mah battery, but trying to travel light. I already left behind a charger in the TSA security area. When I realized it and returned it was gone (of course).
I ended up just buying an Anker Astro e3 with 10,000mah of power for when I need to bring it. It's working great so far. Nice to know I can fully charge my phone four times with it if I'm on the standard battery.
