Hi guys,
I have a verizon cdma 7" gtab.
I downloaded and extracted the latest system apk from the P1000XWJMK rom.
I tried to update some of the applications just by copying the new ones using root explorer.
To experiment I tried with:
- AlarmClock.apk: after replacing the apk the application disappears and does not work
Then I tried to put files of the Touchwiz Calculator (that is not present in the CDMA version) but nothing.
I also tried to install that but I get an error.
Can anybody help?
Shouldn't that apk be interchangable?
Thanks,
Lorenzo
i think , i said i think , they may work if you settle the permission as
read ( check the 3check box )
write ( check the 1st one only )
and un-check all the others
try it now and reboot if its going to work it will work like this , if it doesn't work , means it wont fit probably they will work

Thanks for the answer but I already tried by changing permissions and rebooting.
Nothing
You should try using 7zip and open archive, modify the contents and push back via Root Explorer... you ever tried that approach?

This is roughly 20% of the information I need.
Use Root explorer or similar app with root access to copy your /system/framework/framework-res.apk and upload it here. Then I will edit it for you.

Here you go.
Before you do anything: !make a backup through Clockworkmod recovery!
Good.
Next:
Put this framework-res.apk in /system/framework to replace the original one.
If you know how to use ADB, it is the best way to coply the new framework-res.apk to this location.
If you do not know how to do it, you can do it with your Root explorer or similar (your device has to be rooted, too) and you must be able to write to /system (If you are rooted, Root explorer can mount /system as R/W). However, you will get a lot of force closes when you change the framework-res.apk. Just copy-paste it to /system/framework and asnwer Yes when prompted to overwrite.
After that reboot your device.
NOTE: This framework-res.apk will enable a Phone icon in your Apps, a Call button in Contacts, and Call settings in Settings.
I do not know if your baseband supports GSM calls. But try it first. If you can't connect, then we must search for another baseband/modem.bin.
If your Tab stays at the Samsung logo and doesn't boot completely, reboot in Clockworkmod and do: backup and restore/advanced restore/system

Wait... Isn't the I957 LTE capable of GSM calls by default???

notice :- i am not in usa & not use AT&T sim
"Wait" is just a figure of speech . Go ahead and follow the instructions from my previous post to enable the Call menus and settings with the framework-res.apk. Then attempt a call with a sim card from a phone and see if it works and report results here.

Yes, precisely.
You are on the right track.
Flash CWM recovery as described in that post, then reboot into it and do: backup and restore > backup
Make sure you also have Root access.
Then move on to my instructions for the framework-res.apk.

As to adb, you can get it from the Android SDK. What OS is your PC running?

frist :how can i remounted system to be R/w ?
second : my system is windos 7
Dont go researching ADB yet. Stick to Root explorer.
When you are in Root Explorer, and go to /system, a button appears in the upper left corner.
It will say R/O at first. Press it and it will change to R/W. Then you can overwrite the framework-res.apk.
Progress?

it's years ago that I used a android smartphone and I forgot how to install .apk's.
Do I need a special app ?
My phone is not rooted .
( and I don't want to do it for the moment because it took me a long time for the one before )
You don't need a special app. Just download .apk file and install. You have to go to download folder or you can see it in notification bar.

There are many user that are facing No connection Problems on Google Play Store . Also sync is also stopped and this happens many times :crying: after resolving it.
So here is a quick guide to FIX/ SOLVE it :
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Rooted Android Phone if not you may find guides on or XDA.
2.Root Browser or ES File Manager
3.Brain (of course)
Steps to follow:
1. Open Root Browser grant SuperSU permission.
2. Go to "/ " or root directory.
3. Open etc folder, where you will find "host" file
4. Copy that file to some where and open it as TEXT FILE
5. Now erase all the text there type or paste " 127.0.0.1 localhost " without quotes.
6. Just Save it.
7. Now open your Play Store or Sync your Account. It will work!!!
Also see that if you have installed Freedom, then uninstall it and then install it again.

Easy fix after nothing worked
A lot of people are missing a simple trick.
It is well known to try clearing cache but most importantly the date and time is correct.
BUT you MUST have the date and time correct over your mobile network, not your wifi network, for it to be definitely correct.
SO switch off wifi and connect mobile data to get correct dat time set.
Use Google DNS address in PC ethernet settings , restart router.
Than in phone clear playstore data and cache, clear downlaod manager data and cache,
Restart phone
download any app from playstore, it will wont show any downloading status till 5 mins but will start automatically by then. good luck.
not helping
Guys, i have tried deleting hosts file , putting # in front of ip address and any other possible way available over internet but not able to access playstore or google apps by my wifi although I can access them using my cellular data. Why is this happenning:crying:

Playstore No internet connection error
HELLO FRIENDS ,
I AM USING ROOT PHONE AND I HAVE SAME ISSUE , SO I TRIED TO DO SAME THING AS GIVEN , BUT NOTHING Happened , BUT IT MAY BE working process , well forget, I got to the point .
Basically there is no issue in my playstore or host files , I was simply using "adaway" . So that's way is is showing no internet connection. Verry funny error was this .
Okk okk if you are facing same error and using "adaway" . Kuch ndaly remove " android.apis.google.com ", "mtalk.google.com" and "play-fe.googleapis.com" . From the adaway hostlist.
Thanks
Neeraj Chauhan
And every thing wil be solved .
If it is solved enjoy it
Hi
I got this phone & rooted it
Everything was ok until I decided to remove some unneeded apps .... The system app called "Sangam IME" cause me a major problem ! It's a keyboard & what's its use ? If u turn on encryption data , this keyboard will pop up to enter ur password ,not any other keyboards like Gboard & ....
So if u have this phone , even without root u can help me ...
Just install lucky patcher (it doesn't need root access for backup system apk ...
So after installing it , search for Sangam ... U'll see "sangam IME" backup the .apk file & give it to me & save several hours for me . Thank you sooo much ????
