Hi everybody !
I replaced my tab there is three day with a new one (last one has been brocken), and i can flash new rom but i can't boot ==> i m still on samsung logo !!
I tried removed bootloader with "bootloader patch v1.00 for samsung galaxy tab"
and here the result of the patch:
Bootloader- YOU ARE SAFE !
Signed: Kernel
Not Signed: PBL, SBL, SBL_Backup
Assessement: can flash anything
As you can see my kernel is still signed, so is it because of that i can't boot my GT ?????????????????
I realy apreciate if you could giving an idea, because i havent....
ie: sorry for my english, im frensh.
Ok, so the app said you were safe, and you removed the bootloader anyway?
You can't boot . . . are you ready? . . .
. . . because you removed the . . .
. . . bootloader.
First of all, thank you very much to reply !
I badly explained my problem ==> i do not removed the bootloader, i unsigned (unlocked) it with known application named "bootloader patch v1.0 ...."

could you please state what you did in a chronological manner. because it seems to me that you didn't really understand what the bootloader patch was for, it isn't made to remove your bootloaders but only to replace them with unsigned ones.
as stated in the report:
Bootloader- YOU ARE SAFE ! ------ Your bootloaders are unsigned
Signed: Kernel ------ Your kernel is signed (because you are currently on stock firmware.
Not Signed: PBL, SBL, SBL_Backup ------ again stating that your bootloaders are unsigned
Assessement: can flash anything ------ you can flash any rom that is for YOUR device
now, the patch that chainfire and rotohammer made was designed to be used for galaxy tabs with Froyo (android 2.2) and is not to be used with galaxy tabs with gingerbread (android 2.3).
if when you power on you still get to see the samsung boot logo then you could still revive your tab by going into download mode flashing a stock rom that is for your device, or if you are lucky can bring back your tab in operating condition by doing a factory reset by going into recovery mode and selecting factory reset.
I don't believe edendavid has removed or replaced the bootloaders as the bootloader app greys out the choice to replace if bootloaders are safe (I believe it did for me, but its been a while since I used it), however, edendavid may have tried to flash a gingerbread rom that needs base gingerbread already installed.
If edendavid would tell us WHAT was flashed and how it might give us some better insight into what went wrong and what help is needed...
FIrst of all, Thank you very much to take a time for me !!!
Here, what i did chronologicaly :
1- Begin with Froyo ==> 2.2
2- Set tab too root mode manually, with adb because z4root and SuperOneClick does not work for me. Here what i did ==> http://www.thegalaxytabforum.com/index.php?/topic/3936-rooting-galaxy-tab-with-adb-method/
3-reboot tab once.
4-install the application "bootloader patch v1.00 for samsung galaxy tab"
5-apply patch on my tab
6- reboot tab
7-reopen the application "bootloader patch ..."
8-reboot tab in download mode
9-open odin
10- placed .pit and one tar containing all files (zimage, factory, hidden, Sbl, boot, cach and param ) in PDA field==> the rom is named P1000XXJQ1, and retrived on http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/auth/login?why=pw&try=1&wp=1&next=WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
11- flash the tab corretly ==> odin is correclty ended "Success" is displayed.
12-the tab reboot on recovery mode alone.
13- i do not wipe the tab ...... ==> is it an error ?
14-I breboot the tab
15- tab is locked on "samsung galaxy tab", i whait 25-30 minutes ==>so i decided to reinstall rom named P1000XWJMI (a Froyo 2.2) ==> everthing is find my tab reboot but im still on 2.2.....
after flashing to gingerbread via odin, you should do the wipe and start from factory settings. also by chance did you also flash a file named dbdata.rfs?
In the fils i flashed, there is no dbdata...
I tried also with cyanogenMod7Beta and here there is dbdata and there is the same result.
Do you think if i tried flash and after if i do a wipe factory that will work ???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13682956&postcount=1
if your still on froyo, you could try following instructions from the link i posted. its chainfire's instructions, it worked on mine when i tried it before.
Noxxious, YOU ARE MY NEW GOD !!!
That's work perfectly !!!!I also install oercome succefuly.
Thank you very much, it was important to me to flash correctly this tab !!!!
no prob. good to hear everything worked out fine.
When flashing the stock gingerbread rom, and your tab gets stuck at the logo, and you swear you did everything correctly, you forgot the dbdata.rfs file. It's easy to forget. But the tab won't boot without it. The .rfs refers to file structure, so its an essential step.
Thank you very much for this explaination !!
But there is a problem in SameFirmware.com because i retreived the rom on this website without the dbdata....
I m very happy to have this new rom !!!
Do you know when the next android version for the galaxy tab will arrived ?
Is it the 3.0 honeycomb or 2.4 ????
Thanks jedi master rangercaptain
Hi all,
firstly I would like to mention that I know that there are a lot of tutorials how to do this..but..I currently can't find the instructions to the latest "stock ROM" (I think its JW6 - if I am not correct feel free to correct me) root..
I would like to know these things:
1) How to root mentioned phone with this ROM?
2) I am not pretty sure but with my HTC WildFire S I didn't need to flash "kernel"? What it is and am I right that i need to flash it?
3) Will I have recovery (like CWM, ..) right after root or will I need to make some more to get recovery?
Sorry for posting this kind of answers - I think that they are already answered but I am little "confused" from information which I get from the internet.. I have already rooted and flashed custom ROM to my HTC WildFire S but with Samsung it looks for me quite "strange" and I really don't know what to do and I also don't want to end up with broken phone..
Thx all which will help me
First you need to download Odin and the Samsung USB driver.
Then download the root file from here. Search for JW4 since there is no root file for JW6. JW4 will work just fine.
Unpack the root file you downloaded.
Boot your device into Download mode by holding down the volume down + home + power buttons.
Open Odin and click AP. Then select the root file (.tar) you downloaded.
Connect your device to the computer and click Start (Make sure re-partition is not checked).
That's it.
Yes you will have CWM Recovery. To boot into CWM Recovery hold down the volume up + home + power buttons.
Hope this helps.
Guys, last compatible version of Odin for i9000 was 1.83, period.
Use JVU or JVZ as only those contain the bootloader you need for any 4.x custom ROM, no other Gingerbread firmware contains it.
@KoFiler on HTC you needed just a custom recovery. Here is the same, but as the recovery can not be flashed on i9000 separately, the package "zImage" contains also the kernel. So you must find a custom kernel that matches the firmware and flash it with Odin to get the custom recovery in package.

Hi,
I successfully installed CM12 and running with it for few weeks.
It became a bit unstable for my taste and I'm trying to install the TouchWiz based ROM (Rapture).
I tried bunch of ROM's and could only install the CM12 based ROMS(cm12, Remix) .
All the rest are taking me into boot loop.
I imagine it has to do with the wrong firmware but not sure which firmware I need and can I install it using TWRP.
Thanks a lot for the help!

You need to odin flash the latest official stock COD6 firmware for Note 4 N910T which can be
found and downloaded from http://Sammobile.com
After odin flashing you will need to root the phone with cf-autoroot and odin flash twrp recovery.
Here is a download link which contains odin, twrp and cf-autoroot for the N910T Note 4.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i25yjb1o97o96nb/CF-Autoroot & TWRP v2.8.6.0 and ODIN3 v3.10.0.zip?dl=0
Unzip the this zip file into an empty folder on your desktop.
Once you have successfully odin flashed the firmware, cf-autoroot and twrp you will be able to
flash any custom touchwiz rom created for the Note 4 N910T device without any further issues.
Good luck, have a great day!

download your oem rom here www . updato . com
if you already have twrp installed, wipe and instlall
Easiest way... Smart Switch on your PC. Install it... 20 minutes and you'll be setting up your S2.
Use the device initialization tab in Smart switch. It will wipe all the data.
Hello!!! I have Samsung Tab S2 SM-t813, I was running un-official LOS 17.1 but the battery life was bad and bluetooth headphones not working so I decided to go back to Stock.
Used Odin3 3.14 to flash latest FW from Sammobile, AU variant T813XXS2BTK3_T813XSA2BTK1_XSA
I loaded it up with AP option only (it's just one file, not BL, AP, CP and CSC).
Odin seems to flash it just fine and then I get a bluescreen, says it's installing an update, then says it's erasing, then it just sits on the Samsung Logo slowly fading in and out from dull to bright.
I know this is meant to take a long time the first boot but I've been waiting for an hour now.
Any suggestions?
@jonathonsunshine one chance I see is flashing multiple! file stock ROM.
You can get it using samfirm_reborn on a windows PC.
Insert your device type and region plus checking "binary nature" and "decrypt".
That will download a zip file you have to unpack and get the AP, BL aso.
Battery should be fully loaded before flashing.
Good luck.
That's what it looks like for my T820.
In the end, I never got the stock rom going, I flashed twrp-3.5.2_9-0-gts210vewifi.img.tar with Odin 3.14, then followed this guide and installed the Lite Version of Stock Rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-7-0-nougat-stock-lite-v8-t713-t813.3746583/

So even multiple part stock ROM didn't work?
That's weird.
Trying this for a Galaxy Tab S2 (SM-T713) to no avail. I am able to grab the firmware but, unless I am doing something wrong, Odin doesn't do anything after loading the 3 extracted files and clicking start. Oh well.
EDIT:
I may be using an incorrect cable. Will try again later.
EDIT 2:
Back to stock!
