I have had this z1 for about 2 month now and found this very weird problem with it.
a month ago my phone was shutting off at about 4 percent battery left,
now it's shutting off at 9 percent.
it looks like it might shut off at 13 percent next month, 20 percent in two month....
does anyone have same issue and fix for it? or i am just gonna send the phone in for repair
Tried letting it power down than recharge to 100% when phone is off? Repeat a few times.

Have you got a custom rom installed. Cause if you do than maybe your battery just needs calibrating:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
The app requires root access.
You could also go into your dialer type *#*#7378423#*#*
Then go to "Service Tests" and "Battery Health test" and see if your battery is in good health

Yep, this should help because you have to calibrate the battery and let it make a few full cycles.

My phone is not rooted, everything is stock without single update installed (still on 4.2.2).
Battery health says
Good no need to replace or something like that..

Well, in this case just try to charge it to full and then discharge to 0, this should help.
Try updating your rom. It won't hurt. It can only improve

I think it's happen on all XSP, because my friend XSP has that too. As far as I know, it happen because when you don't use it, it starting to lower the CPU frequencies so the battery use is become smaller than before
Sent from my Sony Xperia SP using xda app-developers app
And it happens if phone is hot then cools down, then indicator guess up.
As long as it is only 2-3% it is nothing to be concerned about
Sent from my C5303 using xda premium
Yes, it happens on almost all the devices. @Pulsa However I don't think the cpu voltage can be so low that it makes a negative battery use (we speak about the battery getting more charge than before). I suspect changes in temperature between use and standby to be the cause but it's only an assumption. We need some physicists here

Yes,therefore I set it in quotation marks I just didn't know how to describe it otherwise
Problem you described happend on my S+ too. The problem was a faulty battery gauge. To solve this fully recharge it and let it slowly discharge by using it..
With removable batteries you just clean it and done. But with the XSP this is not possible

You got BBM (Blackberry) installed? That is quite the battery drainer I have noticed on my phone....
3g is the most probable drainer. I can get through a day if I use it a lot.
Install Better Battery Stats, or any other app that can read/detect wakelocks, and find out what is keeping your phone awake.

Better battery stats is my staple, and has a free version on XDA somewhere, but support the developer by buying it if you can!
Wat is the problem with 3g if i May ask.? Is it a known problem with 4.3? Think i'm going to downgrade.

This 2% per 5 mins is when the phone is in standby mode ?
then there is some crap that is eating all your battery.
have a look at the battery usage and see what is using the battery most, in my case it's exchange service -- i cant do anything there because i use email app to get my office emails.
please reply with the app that is using most battery.

Looks like your battery is dead. This phone is the most power-effective phone I owned since Motorola Defy+, it can hold any abuse and still has juice at the end of the day.

And then you've either installed some app that keeps your phone constantly awake, or killed the battery immediately by discharging it to 0. That's the only 2 explanations.
Right now I'm 17h on battery at 50% remaining, and screen as the top discharge reason with 32%. My father, who doesn't use the same phone extensively, routinely charges it once in 2 days. You should have screwed up something really bad to cause this phone not to hold charge.

Could be killed battery. This app won't do anything bad, I believe.
Might also be something reception-related, but I'm not sure if the reception is good/bad or if your carrier does/doesn't support fast dormancy and to what degree does it affect the phone.

Battery quickly drains because when phone heats up because of many apps running in background...so try switching off phone after phone cools try reset phone in settings or try clearing internal storage and flash ROM freshly....This might help u.
