[Q] Root file for Ace

i bought new galaxy ace on 12.3.2012. from india.
i want to root the device.
i downloaded file upd_1.zip and copied to the sd card as per youtube video.
but after booting in recovery mode and installing it says
installation aborted.
kindly guide me through this.
also if i want to unroot it any time will it be possible?

You can unroot anytime.

I had this problem with one zip file.. Don't remember through which one I successfully rooted.I'll be back in a bit.

Do you have stock recovery or already CWM..? cause you know if you flash clockworkmod first then you cant root through it.. you just have to go back to stock recovery --> root --> and then back to CWM. Of course if you HAVE stock recovery now then I dont know.

Try the other zip file -Ace Gingerroot...i guess you found this files at android flip.com so youll find this ither file over there ...cheers p.s. That update.zip dindt work for me too but thr other one did
Edit: u gotta download cwm 4 or 5 (i prefer 5) to b able to root..ull find these files and tutorials here in xda or at androidflip.com....just google it..
P.s. I m not a marketing agent of androidflip.com...i just like thei r work XD

well i dont know anything about what you said in the terms haha.
i am a noob just bought the new device and went to youtube. saw the upd_1
file and did as per instructions.
Also its very annoying to go in recovery mode. i mean i press middle button and
then power up but it just starts normally. i do 20-30 restarts and by fluke once
it gets into recovery mode lol. what am i doing wrong?
just cant get into recovery mode at one shot.

First press thehome button --keep it pressed and then press the power button till screen comes on..u should be in recovery mode...if u r new to android i suggest u do some research on rooting-pros and cons ..some good ones can be found at androidpolice.com....and never mess with rom.manager or flash wrong cwm recovery on your phone--YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!!!

One more thing on stock recovery u dont get into recovery mode at one shot...i guess samsung dont want users to mess up their phones ..its ok to try 5 times..25 times is a lmfao XD XDX DX DXD

unbrick/Revert back to stock rom no matter what painlessly!!

Download the files before reading if ur interested
Found out many strainous guides on this section and really its a big pain to the neck reading everything here.Buff!!Anyway this is a stock froyo rom based on the originally shipped rom with root an a super easy installation.To do this u need nvidia drivers for mobile devices on ur pc.
-If ur on ics/jellybean download this first then continue
-Get the nvidia drivers from here.Unrar them to any folder.
-Now put off ur device.
-Take off the battery.
-Hold the vol up and down keys together.Keep holding and after about 3-4 secs connect to ur pc.
-Ur pc should detect the device but wont be able to install the drivers.U have to do that manually in device manager and i believe if ur n the xda u can do so except u want.(Come on its easy to manually install drivers on windows.Open device manager,see flagged driver with yellow sign,right click and choose update blahblah....)
-After installing unplug the phone,remove the battery,put it back and reboot ur device.
-After it boots up put it off and repeat steps 1-5.If the pc detects ur device the get this unzip and open FlashFirmware.bat an leave it do its thing.{For ics/jellybean users first run the flash.bat in downloaded file(which u should have extracted) and repeat steps 1-5 for the 3rd time and now do the flashfirmware.bat part}
Once u see the LG logo (and only then)on ur device then its ok.
When U boot there are 3 languages chinese,korean and english.

Everything here is stock!!!

It normally should do so but back up ur ics in cwm and give it a try!!!:good:

Did u first download everything? Don't ask 4 too much this is the easiest procedure u can get just do all what is in my guide. Have no pictures and I don't have this phone now! Download and follow! I know your pb is fear. Don't be afraid of the guide. It has been tested working for the su660.

get this man . Don't use rommanager again it doesn't support this device. :angel:

i always get an error when flashing cwm in nvflash..it was something like error executing command 14 nverror 0x120000

Solved:security error when rooting ICS on LG optimus black working soloution

guys this is the fix :
first u are going to need few things: http://www.mediafire.com/?93hir0iytsgk7ge all tools are provided in this link
1.lg p970 drivers :
2.LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1:
3.smart flash tool: :
4.stock rom u can find here: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WDLSW/LGP970/ANEUTL/V20s_00/V20S_00.kdz
5.modfied rom u can find here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019968
now the fix:
1.install the drivers
2.open up LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1 in order to extract the stock rom-note:to do so the stock rom and LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1 should be in the same folder
3.one u open LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1 u will see a dos screen with the stock rom version V20S_00.kdz pick the number of it and hit enter and wait for the extraction
4.the u will be asked : do you want to patch the BIN file with cmw recovery?-press Y and hit enter
5.you will see a screen says enter the greater number choose the option that have the greater number and hit enter
6.u will see a screen asking do u want cmw normal or touch -press N and hit enter
7.done u extracted a patched stock rom the extraction location should be in the same folder where the LG-P970 ROM COVERTER 2.1 is
8.remove battery sim card and sd card from ur phone press and hold vol+ wile doing that connect ur phone to ur pc u should see s/w update screen on ur phone
9.no open smart flash tool
10.go to rom copy D/L look down u should see communication set up u should check if ur phone connected
11.on CP bin browser ur file and go to the patched stock rom location and choose the file that ended with CP.fls
12.browser AP bin and choose file that ends with AP
13.click start and dont touch any thing until its done
14.after its done ur phone will reboot into cmw recovery from there choose wipe factory data click yes then format partition data
15.slowly insert ur sd card then in cmw recovery chose mount and storage then from there format sd card wait until its done
16.also in mount and storage choose mount sd card u will see ur sd card in ur computer open it up and copy the modified rom(jelly bam its rooted and great i tested it) to ur sd card wait until it copied
17.now on ur phone go to mount and storage again and choose unmount sd card
18.go back to cmw screen then choose install zip from sd card u should see the file u copied it from ur computer choose it wait for the installation until its done then go back to cmw main screen and choose reboot wait for reboot it will take some times but u will phone will work great again
important notes:follow this guide step by step ,do not unpulg ur phone from ur computer until u make sure ur phone is working,do not exit cmw recovery in any way until u make sure that u installed jelly bam zip
in the end wish u much luck if it worked with u let me know if the links didnt work tell me and if u need any help also u can tell me

You cannot add cwm ,, the bootloader encrypts the crc of the partition so if u modify it you will end up with security error ,, try to use nooby's pure v30b repack or marvel 10\11 ,, they are stock ics with deoxeding

Maybe You ran out if battery. Try to charge it first, then try again.

I tried charging...bt since it's bricked it doesnt charge at all....it doesnt show the "charging" screen when i plug in the adapter

My s/w update screen is NO LONGER coming
I first bricked the fone and a "Security Error" was showing...
The online solution that i found was to enter "s/w update" and flash a ROM using SmartFlash Tool
That happened...i mean the flash happened but the SECURITY ERROR persisted
But after flashing a few times i cant even enter the "s/w update" anymore
Can anyone help??
Could this be because my battery is out of charge?????

listen i downloaded the zeus and the marvel... since im new i have no idea how to get it on my phone
cuz its not .KDZ with the flaash tool i cant flash it on my phone...
anyways im taking it to the service center for repairs....
no problem if they find out its rooted right? i already told them on the live chat that its rooted

HELP! My galaxy ace won't boot anymore HELP!

I have installed this "ibtimes . co . uk / articles / 419836 / 20130102 / android421-jellybean-cm101-custom-rom-samsung-galaxy . htm" rom on my (actually my mom's) galaxy ace S5830 and it worked just fine. Before i installed it i made a CWM recovery backup. I wasn't happy with the rom so i wanted to go back to my last one by restoring the backup. first i wiped data and cache and then restored the backup. But now when i tried to reboot the system it got stuck on the Samsung logo and later on it was just a light blue screen. can someone help me please.

Don't worry, you need to flash a stock ROM via Odin. Look at the stickies

Chill your phone can be fixed easily
Simple Bro , Download the firmware files from sammobile.com then Google for Galaxy Ace Odin ..I guess the version is 4.38 or something like that ..and make sure you download the cooper file with it then flash the original firmware using Odin.So then your phone is back to how it was when you bought it.

I tried to install the original firmware using Odin, but the problem is that I can't connect my phone to my computer.
The only thing my phone is able to do now, is showing the charging screen, opening the samsung recovery mode and accessing the download mode.
I really hope that someone could help me!

Dude! Switch off the phone. Then press the 3key combo to go to Download mode. U don't need to go to recovery either (which is a 2key combo). & ops name should be:-
COOPER_v1.0.ops

Hi BscorpionII!
As you can open recovery, if you don't have CWM 5.0.2.6 you could install it from your recovery and then try installing another ROM from CWM 5.0.2.6.

yah ryt its already bricked..if only u could go to download mode thats the only option u can recover ur pone..how about try the jtag for force ur phone to downlaod mode and be ready the files neede like : stock firmware, odin..etc..

I once used the GAce and got the exactly same prob as op. Basically, yes it is bricked, unfortunately, and u should send it to repair.

Are you sure you cannot go into the download mode aka ODIN mode?
Volume down+Home button+Power button simultaneously
And if you are not be able to go into it, omg the only solution is to send it to a repair shop where JTAG exist A technician used a JTAG on my Xperia X10 Mini Pro when it got Hardbricked but thankfully, it brought back to life. Goodluck to you
