Hello Everyone.
I purchased the t-mobile version Moto X and when I tap the build # in the about phone section it states that I'm a certain number of steps from being a developer. I tapped it once and it said you are 3 steps away. I tapped it again and it said I am 2 steps away. I stopped there as I'm not sure what this would do to my phone. Any info on this subject would be appreciated.

Just gives you developer options where you can turn on USB debugging and more options. Its no buggy and won't explode, implode or self destruct

And gives you the ability to change animation scales, just makes things that much more snappy in my opinion.

And, of course: ART!! To blow away those pathetic iPhone friends of yours with the fast graphics - but don't tell them about the calendar storage and FC bugs in it...
Thanks for the info and replies everyone. I did some research with the information everyone supplied and think I would like to try the developer mode and play with some of the options. Once I put the phone in developer mode can I revert it back to the way it was, or is it a non issue?
I'm pretty sure doing this will not void my warranty, is that correct? ART looks interesting to me as well and I would like to try it. Would it be better to wait until 4.4.2 releases to put the phone in DM and try some options?

Smile, please... say crisis...
hmm I didn't get what you meant
it's not important.xD
how you did it? i usually got error when pushing files
come on vote
I did some research and assembled known methods into one file. It exploits psneuter as SOC does but, I hope in a better way. I managed to root 10C-E and also 11C like that in less than 20 sec. It works each time without errors. I told you that the key is the order of cmds
This one, if i may suggest to add a stroke around it's mouth

In spain, when someone is going to take us a photo, we commonly say "pa-ta-ta" in order to be smileing on the photo without the need to force-smile...
In english, people say "cheese" or "cri-sis" in order to mantain the mouth semi-open and showing the teeth...
Smileing, please...
I like the simple one, without CRISIS It looks more professional... BTW I don't care what the icon looks as long as the app works!
first one for me
It's better with a big smile
@Huexxx okaaaay lol well I think the smiling one won
would you like a wallpaper like that ?
Thanks for voting guys.
App is ready, please check my thread !
[Q]:Where is your thread???
[A]:Here! It's very hard to search for a particular post of a particular user in a very big thread.. so you know!
P.S.: Thank You!

Here we go. Here a new rooting process I've developed according to my knowledge and based on known methods. It uses the psneuter exploit in a better way, I hope. I called it BlackJack
1 clic, 20 secs, no errors. Tested on 10C-E / 11C (bouygues)
It should be P970 designed, but since "yaffs2" mount is used, it could be used for another P970-like device. These are suppositions. Tell me if I'm wrong.
USB Debugging ON / Unmounted SDC
Enjoy testing !

What’s in the Box?
Think of the Gboxapp as a jack-in-the-box, in which there are many goodies that await your discovery. Whether its utilities or games you want to make use of, this box has what you need. When you first download it from the Gboxapp website, there are about 16 various applications that are ready for use. One example is the calculator, which obviously does not require any explanation with its purpose. If you are looking to cut down on what you eat, there is also a calorie calculator app in the box. Now, if you’re stressed out from work and want to sit back and relax, you can play the classic Pacman game in it as well. These apps are just scratching the surface as there are so many more functions with this box.

So I am making poster for my english class in university "THE GOOD AND THE BAD SIDE OF INSTALLING CUSTOM ROM TO ANDROID PHONE". I am writing down pros and cons. So far I have for the pros:
Ability to use powerfull root apps
Better backup and restore
Better battery saving settings
Ability to overclock cpu, undervolt cpu, etc.
Better control of your baseband
Latest version of android OS
Ability to crack applications
Various kernel choises
Ability to edit various device settings
And for the cons:
Warranty will be void
Can be very unstable
Applications may not be able to run
Battery life can be worse
Can be slower
Some features may be lost
Can be unsafe to use tracking wise
Possibility of bricking your device
As I said, I need to make a poster. So far I have this information. Maybe you have anything to add? Seriously, do not hesitate, spread your ideas, you will really help me a lot Also, maybe you have any ideas what pictures should I put on my poster? i think I should put at least two pictures of "something" on it, otherwise it will look very empty.
Thanks for you brainstorm

I've seen where certain apps will not run correctly with certain ROM's, particularly AOSP ROMS. For example, the BofA app runs fine on my Sammy with TW. On AOSP, it can't take a picture of your check to make a deposit thru the app.

Warranty may or may not be void depending on what goes wrong with the phone, who the manufacturer is, where you live, local consumer legislation and how much you are willing to push the manufacturer to honour the warranty.
Tried to include as much as possible in title, because I am just so confuzzeled pouring through threads but I do not have the -49 or -48 as so many say so I am highly confused n what exactly I need to do to get root(6.0/7.0) on my droid turbo
What I think I've figured out so far, I'll need to buy another $20+ thing (Here's looking at you Mofosunshine), will need to download a some images and the usual goodies from TheSt33v thread('s), but will all of this work on the -38?
I never take OTA, OTA = the bad touch. (the kind you try and forget happened in scouts when you went on the camping trip alone with your scout master and you learned sleeping bags aren't meant for two people.)
And if by some small chance this exact question has been asked again I humbly apologize and will promptly fall upon my sword for surely I have dishonored my family by asking it again.

Welcome to this poll, here we would be discussing about the treble api support for moto g5 plus potter.
You can comment to this thread...
Maybe sort out the plethora of issues with the phone before introducing more foreign development. And read this, especially the explanation at the end. That should be end of this thread:

Vache has gotten treble to work, using the OEM partition. There is a chance that we could get treble, but i'm not really sure why we would need it as of now.
I really hope that we get project treble working on this phone and kudos to the developers

Would Google work with Vache to port his development? Moto needs it.
@Port007 I've always been straight to the point, rude yadda yadda yadda. I piss people off and lose friends. Than I received an adult ASD diagnosis. I don't mean to act that way.

1. Hope you're doing better now, and have friends who care enough to stick around.
2. I don't think google would do that, nor do I think they need his help. If an independent dev can do it on his own, just think what a Multi-billion dollar company could do. It all boils down to whether or not Motorola wants to do it, and looking at the state of it's updates and such after Lenovo took over, we probably won't get official Treble support.
Treble has been successfully ported to M MOTO G5 +. This thread is now archived
