My friend has "Cherry Mobile Apollo" (Here in the Philippines) which runs on android 4.2.1, and his gallery app (default one) somewhat amazed me, why? The video thumbnails in the gallery animate lively (previewing the video itself) all at the same time. So I tried putting the apk from him to my system folder but it does not work (permissions set), and I also tried to install it but it doesn't work too. Anyone who is interested to make it work on our ZR? I attached the Apk file (Containing its odex file). :good:
P.S - I am running on android 4.3 on my ZR

no sound, should compatible on most devices. Enjoy!

His site is a bit malware happy. I ripped the frames and remade it. Set to 30fps so go in and change the settings if you're not happy with the scroll speed.
Either Vista or Winzip were causing me issues so I would appreciate if someone gets the chance to redo this as a functional mtz.

Hope it works on Wildfire
hope it works for galaxy ace. )
Great. I am porting it to the Samsung Galaxy i5800 (240*400)
Neat Work!
Looks very good, but seems that is too much compressed, with blocking, blurring and ringing.
Can u, or someone other, regenerate it with lossless encoding?
Hi everybody, i contacted edwardgtxy cause i guessed he was the original author of this awesome bootanimation, and he gave me the link to the mtz (theme for miui) that now i share with you, with the link to the bootanimation.zip if you prefer it to just copy&paste in /system/media
It is pretty perfect, without any blurring nor any other problem, exactly as you can see in the video posted by him in youtube, the one that is in #1.
mtz link: edwardxwu.com and... -> /file/theme.mtz
zip link: mediafire /?1mkwbcwmcwx3q08
(yes, im a noob and i cant post links XD)
Hope you like it as i do, and again, all thanks to edwardgtxy.
Hello,
I have installed suceffully on my phone, problem, it's only centered on the screen (because my phone need 1280X720P or 1080p annimation)
I have tried to resize the picture (720X1200, Also tried to 720X1280) (and set in the desc.txt file the resolution) but it isnt working, i have no boot screen when it loading (i have Zip with Win rar with "Storage" compression setting as i see on the Tutorial)
EDIT: The best thing for do it and make it working, is resize them with the Bootanimation app on the android
On my phone, the correct bootanimation file is named "bootanimation_hd720.zip" in this case, The Bootanimation app cannot set it automatic. I need to add with the App, resize with the app, and use EZ file explorer (root) and change the filename "bootanimation.zip" to "bootanimation_hd720.zip"
What's wrong?
Hello all. Does anyone still have this file and would be willing to share? All of the links no longer work.
Thanks.
I installed the new CM7 rom + Gapps.
Everything worked fine but the CM's calculator & calendar are far from what i was used on my stock 2.3.5 GB rom.
I've asked this same question on CM forum but no one replied so i'll try to ask here.
How can i replace my calculator with my old one?
I've successfully extracted the calculator apk from my old rom and have it on my sdcard ready to be installed.
But for some reason i cant get it to install and i even tried to put it on system/apps dir replacing the old one without success.
i know this is possible because i saw someone porting the same calculator to a nexus phone
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522009)
with the apk from that post i could run and install the calculator but the resolution would not fit my screen
any help?
thank you very much, mornaistar

the calendar.apk that you got from old rom, put it in /system/app, now change its permissions using root explorer as follows
Read permission to all i.e. owner, group and others
Write permission to owner
rest unchecked..
after this reboot your phone.. this should work.. if it doesn't that means the apk is not compatible with CM7 firmware and you can search for some other calendar app that suits your needs
i've tested this and it wont work.
can someone port the apps for CM firmware? i know it's possible since xda users made it for other phones
i was able to run one of those ported apps in my galaxy s but the resolution was all wrong
OP- theme package(morph)+other apps(samsung tts, memo apk...etc)

Sorry for my bad english...
1. Extract zip file
2. In Xtras/ , there is system\app and data folder..
3. copy& paste files which you want using root explorer(or other apps which has same function)
4. Give permission...
( Some apps might not working because framework related..)
5. reboot&enjoy
edit :
I just noticed that there is flashable zip file which works in NS cm nightlies
I didn't tried yet

I presume permission: wr-r-r, and just move the app to /system/app,
adb push [location of the file] system/app and ur good to go
Thanks for sharing it

Very very beatiful , fine and smooth if you install this zip(twics-cm9-nightly-addon 1.3) in recovery and you have paranoid or cm9 nightly installed on nexus ..
I love it , thanks for all... most of the apps works fine and great!
S Memo not working... In the end of the install process it says "App not installed"

Dude the zip file you mentioned in the OP does not work. I check it and the framework is not built for NS devices.
I dont know how you got them to work on your devices. If you dont mind please share the way you did. Cause i just flashed it thru CWM but nothing happened.
thanks

Jesus! Unzip/extract the files and install the apks to /system/app MANUALLY, dont flash it thru CWM or TWRP cos it won't work
Hey people,
I extracted the system apps from 4.1.2 and try to install them on my old Defy (with root). I was able to replace calculator and browser, most apps won't install but i think i can find a solution . So I uploaded the apks on MEGA.
maybe some of you can try that on older devices too and on 4x with 4.0.4.

Nice Work
Hey,
I saw that there is the Carbon Rom available for the SP and I downloaded it and switched through the files. I actually couldn't find any bootanimation.zip or similar. Does this mean the Carbon Rom hasn't got any bootlogo? And if so, is it possible to a bootanimation.zip file (e.g. from CM) and paste it into system/media ?

hi to answer your question yes a bootanimation.zip can be pushed to /system/media/
and give correct permissions rw-,r--,r--
reboot and you got boot animation.
if there is no bootanimation.zip it means it uses standard bootanimation that is already present in the framework it just gets overridden by the zip.
also its bootanimation not bootlogo(thats present in the devicename.rle inside the boot image).
Hope this helps you.

Dark Passenger
Wow thank you! It helped me a lot and it was really understandable explained!
Carbon 4.4.4, builds 20 and 21
I suppose there is some work involved in developing these builds.
Just to inform the developers that starting with build 20 camera is not working (nor in 21).
Latest functional camera was in build 19.
Maybe you should do something about that.
The error message is the classic - "Can't Connect Camera".
You can reach build 154 for nothing if the camera is not working.
