Hello guys,
After roaming around almost a year and half around xda, doing something fruitful
Here i present my first CM11 based kernel,
Disclaimer : You installed Kernel ,on your device ,I am not responsible .
If you installed kernel ,on a device ,without reading instructions ,I don't give a Damn !
Warning : I don't support Nandroid Restore
Attempting to use Nandroid Restore can lead to a perma brick .
Consider Nandroid to be permanently broken on this kernel.
Features :
100 mb shrinked from system to /data (For more internal memory ofcourse )
cache reduced to 8mb
Some touch tweaking (11 mb more ram Thanks @Dark Raven )
Toolchain used:
Linaro 4.7 by @Wedgess
Unique Feature
Modified partition layout which works flawless as far as my knowledge .
One Layout is maintains original system Layout ,The rest of 5 layouts come with Modified System Layout .
All Kernels have 8 MB cache partition so by default roughly 90MB bump in /Data is seen .
The best results with latest LX builds
-CM11.0-
Changelog:
Code:
V3
-- 201401227--
Reclaimed 66 mb more space
Same as LX 20140122 LX CM11 build
V2
-- 201401227--
Reclaimed 6 mb more space
Same as LX 20140122 LX CM11 build
V1
-- 20140122 --
Like in 20140122 LX CM11.0 build.
Steps to be followed:
Flash kernel (boot.img)
Boot to recovery, do all the wipes (data, cache, system, dalvik)
flash the rom zip
flash the minimal gapps if u want (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48535200&postcount=4)
boot
Note:
1) If you donot format system the rom wont boot even if your on same rom with different kernel. SO its mandatory
2) Flashing the whole gapps will result in a bootloop as i have shrinked a good amount of system size (~100mb)
3) You can run ART well but please donot report issues if your running ART as it is experimental (mike already said that)

Using it since two hours now, running flawless :good:
first of all..great work.:good:
but without the capability to use restore we are stucked to the rom we are using..cant flash any addons or backup your rom to restore if anything goes wrong..that features must be available if you can.
backup and restore are essential on any kernel, hope you guys can fix it.
once again, wonderful work and thanks for your effort.

im sure all of us miss his work,if he still develops im sure we have a fully 3xx kernel for xperia play and neoL.
@koradiavatsal what do you mean with "without cam"? It does not have the camera drivers?
great work @koradiavatsal
but since we are on xda GPL compliant kernel source code link should be given!
and isn't mike repartitioned kernel in his builds a bit confused!

That's a kernel without camera i.e. No photo and video shooting.. By disabling it ram s saved(i guess around 40 on arc) so total ram goes to above 400... Just a fun kernel..

AOKP JB-MR1 Android 4.2.2
Samsung 'cooper' Galaxy Ace
by
AOKP Legacy Team
This ROM is an almost pure AOKP for our Ace device. It is based on fresh Android 4.2.2_1.2 sources, current AOKP sources and portions of AndroidARMv6 and CyanogenMod sources.
It's still in its development stage, but recently it got quite stable and good for an everyday usage. If you have any issues, please report, using as many details, as possible. Saying just "doesn't work" won't help anybody...
Also, please DON'T report things mentioned in "known problems" below.
For general talk, non-dev related, please go here.

This ROM was possible thanks to our big Open Source family, we're still here, against all those, who broke off and went closed. So, many, really many thanks for all of you guys!

FAQ:
- will PSN mod work with this ROM? Yes, it's perfectly working.
- will Link2SD app work? Yes, it works without issues. This is a recommended way of work.
- will Swapper2 work? Yep!
- does CRT animation work? BTW, I can't get why it's so important... but yes, it's working from the first boot.
- can I use Adrenaline/SuperCharger/whatever "tweaks" scripts? Well, you can do whatever you want, but if you will use anything like this, do not bother reporting me any bugs. Is that enough for an answer?
- is BLN working? Yes.
- what the hell happened to Erik??! Nothing, he's fine. We are working together on AOKP.
- how can I add more ringtones/alarms/notification sounds? You can store them on a SD card in:
Code:
media\audio\alarms\
media\audio\notifications\
media\audio\ringtones\
Changelog:
2013.04.28
aokp_cooper-20130428.zip (113.5 MB)
- SU binaries fixed
- Settings FC fixed
- Toggles for "sound state" and "screenshot" fixed
- First steps in installer persistence settings
- Permissions Manager
- other small bugfixes and additions
- synced to official AOKP sources
- file manager added
Known problems:
- after finishing a startup configurator (after flashing), you have to press a Home button to continue.
- trying to play music causes DSPManager FC. After that it plays music normally, only without DSP.
- AOKP Torch still not working.
- native FM radio doesn't work.
- SWAG Papers don't work
- Live Wallpapers don't load
compatible Google Apps: gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
however the basic gapps services are included in the ROM, so flashing it is not required.
2013.04.21
aokp_cooper-20130421.zip (110.9 MB)

I just upgraded without wiping. What will be the issues? It seems everything is working fine, it is a great rom!

To be honest, I can't predict it... API has changed, but maybe upgrading process got better these days
Few FC here and there, nothing to worry about, but I loved Eric's work, and I know that you're gonna make this AOKP flawless! Keep up with excelent work!
Can someone confirm if Swap option is available in this ROM.
What about smoothness? How's the Rom performing?

-Pegasus Team
-I had a lot of ideas, but I couldn't realize them alone. So I have decided to found a team.
-Initially I and L.E.D 26 founded the PureStudios, but the I really don't like the name, so I have decided
-to rename this team calling it "Pegasus Team". Our team is free, and anyone can join with us (you have only
-to PM me) and if you want to join, you're not obbligated to work frequently: all we have school or others
-things to do! Our members are Jeeko, L.E.D 26, MatrixDJ, Miccia, hsay, and F4uzan
-But, let's start with this New Rom!
A new awesome rom!
Now you're saying "Another CM10.1 rom...." but I stop you for two reasons: first, now we have Halo and I made this fully
functionable for our little device. And second, I search to emulate ParanoidAndroid 3.60+ style in Cyanogenmod rom! So this is
a kind of hybrid rom: cyanogenmod core with paranoid theme.
In addition, we take a look for the performances and battery life and you can check the screens for see that with intensive use
you can use your phone for almost 2 days. The rom hasn't any bug, it's completely stable and ready for daily usage.
Let's see this rom!
-New awesome features!
-Rom
Based on CM10.1.3 with the latest improvements fixes
Halo))) Inside, now fully functionable, speed, fast, awesome!
New ParanoidAndroid 3.99 wallpaper
Slimmed, removed useless apps and added newest libs
Halo box-screens fixes, now you can use all the app inside that
Fixed sweep to slide tab in the notification menu for better responsivity
Added fast scrolling and smooth animations
-Kernel
Based on A_U's kernel
Optimized ramdisk for CM10.1
New bootsplash logo
Various improvements suitably for Halo
LMK drivers from Badass Kernel
Updated to 2.6.38.2 kernel
Security fixes
-Downloads
-HaloPlus Project for Galaxy Mini, enjoy Halo fully functionable
- Wipe data, cache, dalvik, format system and flash the rom.
- The GApps aren't included, you can download them here // Bluetooth isn't working, you can use the badass kernel
-Credits
-A big thanks to NextLight who made all this possible with Halo Project.
-Thanks to A_U for his kernel and alin.p for his LMK machine
-Thanks even to UgoRaffaele, PA, androidarmv6 and CM the codemasters of this project

This rom is cooked, and you can see this. Today with this stuff, a tomorrow with other optimizations.
And 2nd, you say me that I have done the same with aosp and pac only because you don't see in the kernel version
"[email protected]" or something like that only because I don't know how to use git and I clone sources and then I work offline?
If I'll make a new build with my compiled kernel you'll change idea? I bet no; I don't mind fr what u said, but in this way you you make lose the urge others to work on this device.

Try changing your kernel. It may be a bug from the kernel.
ultimately happened with bluetooth? and I can flash gapps? but I guess they'll work now and put the gapps that I have earned int2ext besides hopefully work as before without problems.
my review :
-bluetooth works using badass kernel.
-maybe the internal storage not optimized using A2SD script (my previous rom is lenio,it's optimized), so I used the modded int2ext.
-for gapps, I used the gapps from CM10.1 thread by rohan007
after all, this rom works good. I'll give a report later if there's any bug.

ok thanks I will flash this kernel, sure there is no bug or anything? I once I got the crazy cab would work (although the game was slow) but after all cm10, cm 10.1 to prove everyone was departing with the welcome screen of the game creeped making me impossible nor start playing, hopefully with this I go crazy rom the taxi as it is a game I love.
If I also use int2ext and run to the first, when flashing gapps gapps use the official 4.2.2 and also are compatible, all you see is that system memory is just so I have find the gapps reduced. Also will try odex to get more free space and gain speed, but for speed I have no complaints for now.

I look inside rom zip file it map /system to /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 so NOT for NEW bootloader and try to change to /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 and flash BUT it said error at line of symlink.
Want to try with new bootloader do you plan to make your rom for new bootloader

I flashed Pengus M1 norh kernel. Boots OK.
Try it at your own risk.
So much drama over nothing... Stop bashing the OP please
OK. Trying to understand how this ROM is...
-Old bootloader.
-No Kowalski Kernel.
-No Wi-Fi Tethering.
One doubt, the Gapps available for download, are they non neon Gapps?
Good luck for your project.

It's basically Temasek build 93 with some pirated apps included.
Flash first, then comment. Or don't flash at all. To quote the OP: not worth the time.

At the end of my post, I mentioned a question.
If you have an answer for it, than I appreciate.
If you don't, let the OP do it if he can.
I need the phone working right now with Google apps.
BTW it's not up to me nor you to say if it's worth the time.
Specially if maybe you didn't flash it.
Remember flash then comment!
Peace...

I converted the ROM to NewBL and installed it. Didn't boot. Then I reinstalled (always full wipe) and also flashed Pengus M1 (with and without ramhack). Upon booting, there was an FC message from Lucky Patcher. Off to a good start, eh? At this point, I decided not to flash GApps. If you need a working phone right now, I highly recommend the work of carburano (Adios Amigos is a truly fine ROM); Pengus ('Look Ma!') or anything by tonyp.
I'll leave it at that. If you want more information, I suggest you make the effort to convert and flash, errr…'Smasher' (tip: remove spaces from filename before converting) and find out for yourself. Or you could wait for the OP's next update which I'm sure will be just perfect.
Far be it from me to report this thread to a mod, although I do wonder what this unoriginal work is doing here in the Development forum.

Hi ! First, I would like to say a big THANKS for this new ROM ! That seems great !
Nevertheless, I have a few questions to the DEV before testing it :
- Is this ROM built from latest LX sources ? I mean, is it based on mikeioannina 20140718 build or does it include the newer changes made by him ?
- Did you modify the kernel made by Vynikal ? Because the last updated version (from yesterday) has 423MB for userspace, and video recording preview seems to be working fine with it.
A little one for the testers :
- Does the flash sync issue fixed here like in Spirit build ?
Thanks again.
Cheers.

Yes the current latest build is based on mikes sources of 20140718
I didn't modify vynikals sources
Video Preview and flash sync are known atm.
Although I have holidays soon so I'll build up an update on latest sources acc to which most things should be fixed

Great work! Been waiting for MIUI on Xperia V for several months now.
Just a question. If I provided you an optimized and thus really fast CM11 build, would it be possible to rebase MIUI on this? The result would be awesome for sure!

Have not messed around with selinux yet, but I'm quite confident that I can help you.
Let's discuss the details via pm.

I wanna believe we`re gonna have stable MIUI.
I`ve been jealous of my gf`s mi3 running v6, and now I can do that exactly on my V
Btw, Neo youre gonna give your Neo-Kernel with Intelimm and all? It would definately make the build far more stable.
I guess, Miui should be cleaned of all chinese stuff. I flashed some MIUI ROMS on mi3
and here`s what russian guys decided to delete:
BaiduNetworkLocation.apk
GameCenter.apk
GameCenterSDKService.apk
MzInput2.apk
Userbook.apk
UserbookProvider.apk
VoiceAssist.apk
Mipay.apk
Galaxy4.apk
O2O.apk
HoloSpiralWallpaper.apk
GooglePinyin.apk
PhaseBeam.apk
VisualizationWallpapers.apk
LiveWallpapers.apk
NoiseField.apk
MiGameCenterSDKService.apk
GameCenter.apk

I'm afraid I cannot use my CM12 NeoKernel source for CM11, so I'd have to merge all features and this is too time-consuming (for now ).
However, I'm quite tempted to switch to MIUI6 myself - and if I do, I'll create a new, stable NeoKernel for this ROM and CM11 in general. :good:
By the way, this is the CM11 base for the new version.
As my phone is fullly formatted in F2FS, including sdcard and internal storage, I've had a bootloop when flashing this.
Would anyone mind to test if it boots?
Here's the link:
EDIT: Link removed, was not booting.
Thanks in advance ^^

Will do in the evening.
Btw, if you could give me some links or advices on how to build a kernel I`d dedicate hell a lot of time to it. Or if you need something to compile-my machine will perform it`s best.

No need to test, as I'm quite sure that another issue is the reason for the bootloop.
Will need some more work.
If you want to get started with kernel development, it would be best to have a look at this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2152819
Then, check out the commits of known custom kernel devs at GutHub and you're good to go. :good:
