[Q] I've throughly screwed the pooch! - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Alright friends i'm not a total fool and thought for the most part i knew what i was doing with my sisters htc one.... I've rooted many devices and solved countless problems before by reading every forum out there, and other resources also. But nevertheless im entirely stumped, were unfortunately on hboot 1.55.0000, OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909 <(possibly something ive fuc*ed up) OS-3.05.651.6 Not sure if any of that will help but thats whats up. I've been trying to run rummrunner and got all the way to pouring 4, but then it errored out somehow so im still s-on. Running the correct recovery for sprint i think (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7wls.img) i can install a few different roms from (42ONE-Aftermath_2.3.zip), (Bad_Boyz_Sprint_ONE_Sense_5.0_v1.2.zip) and even a more stalk rom such as (Sprint_KitKat_ReBase_1.4.zip). They install without a hiccup and proceed to boot up like a champ! BUT THEN eventually no matter what i try, i get to the god forsaken sense5 lockscreen. There sh*t really hits the fan, once i unlock the phone opens up to green htc logo. After that no matter how many fingers i cross it just restarts its self and does the same old crap again....
I'm currently downloading 2 more ruu's trying to find one that doesnt get some nightmare of an error.
(RUU_M7_WL_JB43_SENSE50_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_3.04.651.2_Radio_1.00.20.0913_3_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_335355_signed_2.exe)
and (RUU_M7_WL_JB43_SENSE50_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_3.04.651.2_Radio_1.00.20.0913_3_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_335355_signed_2.exe)
Soooooo needless to say im at the end of my stick now with no more ideas, if anyone out there has any helpful advice or tips i'd greatly appreciate it! :cyclops:

i think you need to flash the kernel with fastboot or flashGUI

Which Kernal do you reccomend?

I greatly appreciate the quick reply, and ive flashed a few boot.img's that come with the rom.
Im not familiar with flashGUI at all, but im trying to figure it out now.
I also flashed ElementalX-m7-Sprint-11.4.1 kernel in recovery, but that fixed nothing at all.

you have to use the latest RUU, if you are s-on, it would be for 3.05.651.6 firmware, radio 1.00.20.1108

Haven't messed with a hero in a long time, but since you can get into h-boot, try to find a HERCIMG.zip of either the recovery or a full rom. (I see you now have an Evo, so HERCIMG.zip is just the Hero version of the PC36IMG for the Evo). Since the hero is pretty easy to root, I would suggest the entire rom to start fresh. If you are not familiar with HERCIMG.zip, put it on the root of your sd card and boot to hboot. It should then prompt you for the update.

If you are using a full rom image, you will need to re-root. Just use the one-click root for the Hero. But yes after you flash the image, I would boot just to make sure you are now good.
If just use a recovery img then try to boot into recovery and flash a very basic, maybe stock like rom.
i downloaded a HERCIMG.zip and hboot wont recognize it.... i think its because i have the latest hboot and radio already installed so i dont know what to do now... i've done hard reset, clear storage and i still can only get the white htc start screen and it stays there for hours until the battery dies i've done a hard reset and now my phone says s-on so somewhere in the process of trying to fix this i've lost my s-off.... i have no idea what to do :'(

Try Fastbooting... if you Plug it into your Computer and press Volume Up (I believe?) You Should be able to get into Fastboot and Hopefully Fix your Problem!

Reflash darchs eng-spl to enable fast boot commands. It will give you s-off again. If you can't find it let me know. Also I'd recommended flashing it with ra1.6,1.7 or cwm2.5. After you flash the s-off zip your phone should flash the hercimg.zip

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804692
What did u name the zip file?
... it's been a common mistake with this process that people actually name "hercimg.zip", which now becomes "hercimg.zip.zip"
But u have to name it just "hercimg" since it's already a zip file.
Its just a thought ... and plz excuse me for questioning u if u did it correctly and it truly did not work.
Good luck and take care

[Q] downgrade to hboot 1.41? Need help unrooting

Well I bought a used Hero cdma phone, rooted it and installed cyanogenmod on it. I did all this before activating it with sprint. When I called them they were not able to get it hooked up. I didnt want to tell them it was rooted so after an hour of them trying things we gave up.
I am trying to unroot and go back to stock now to see if it will activate. I have been running into nothing but trouble.
I have been reading alot of threads here and have gotten this far...
after trying to install stock rom i got this "Verifying system type.... E:unsupported radio version, E:Update failed...."
I downgraded the radio by flashing an older recovery and turned s-off
now when i try to install hercimg.zip I get "cant open....(bad)....install aborted"
The only thing I can see is the problem is I need to be using hboot 1.41 not 1.47 that im on.
Any input, help or a point in the right direction would be super awesome!
Thanks in advance!
dude why are you making this so dificult just run the latest sprint ruu and it will return everything back to stock give me a minute and ill dig up a link for you
u can try this method if u dont have a computer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657086
or u can just run the normal ruu from your computer.

Neither method work for me! I have Tried everything. As far as I can tell RUU's wont work because my HBOOT is 1.47. I have tried to flash a HERCIMG I have flash year old nandroid back ups! and many other methods but the hboot won't go back to 1.41! Do you have any insite. Hercimg flash just fails and RUU give a usb connection failed. AS far as I can tell from reading other post, the new hboot starts different and screws up the ruu! Thanks in advance!
Correction: all the links in the first method are dead so I wasn't able to try it!

[Q] Constantly restarting at welcome screen

Hello guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle here....
I've got a HTC One which I've rooted and unlocked though not S-Off by the looks of things and I had SinLess rom installed fine, it started playing up so I though I'd update it. Bung the new one version on there via sideload and install... Marvelous.
Only now, it gets to the welcome screen as silly ol' me did a factory wipe as well as all cache and after about 5 seconds of Welcome - Choose language. It restarts.
I then decided to try a new rom, so grabbed Android Revolution. To no avail either....
On bootloader it shows as HBOOT - 1.54
S-On
**TAMPERED**
**UNLOCKED**
What can I do to actually get a working rom on this thing?
If there is any more details I need to give please say so as this is my first time flashing something as complicated as this. All my old android devices were far far simplar :crying:
- Here's the facepalm moment - I didn't do an nandroid backup due to it not working and I wanted to put a new ROM on there so I didn't look into getting it working. If I could injure myself I would.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. :good:
Kind regards, Ian.

Hey your'e stuck in a boot loop, its usual
just download a good stable rom
clear data/ cache
flash the rom and you'll be out of it,
If this thing doesnt work out download the orignal RUU and get back to stock

Yeah, after attempting to install 3 different roms.
Sinless, ARHD and SkyDragon, I'm going to try a different recovery as I'm currently using TWRP 2.6.3.3 and I know there is an update but also I want to see if CWM can do anything with the 6.0.4.3 version....

Hello,
To no avail, after trying different recoveries, nothing.
Looks like I've got a metal slab...
It just keeps restarting itself at the welcome screen, the only other thing I can think of would be to fully wipe EVERYTHING on the phone but I'm not sure that's too good of a move either...
Argh.
You have to be s-off to run these Roms

[Q] Soft-bricked Sprint HTC One, can't find stock RUU or ROM

Hey, everyone... Getting really frustrated with this. While trying to fix wifi issues, which began after receiving the Sprint Kit-Kat update, I goofed hard and managed to completely wipe my device. I can access the bootloader and recovery, as well as fastboot, but I can't seem to find stock ROMs for M7_WLS, or at least not working ones. The only ones I've found give errors when I try to run RUU or flash with fastboot.
On the plus side, in the process of rooting and poking around I found that "bcmdhd.ko" was totally missing from "system/lib/modules" after the Sprint system update. But now my entire operating system is gone. I keep looking for Sprint ROMs and RUUs and I am mostly finding M7_SPR and M7_WL, but so far no working M7_WLS.
I'm not an experienced modder as you can see, I just want my phone to work...

I need help 5.03.651.3

I NEED HELP WITH THIS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795856
how my phone is now
HTC one m7 rooted S-off unloacked
Hboot 1.55
4.4.2
4.06.651.9
openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.2-m7wls
I did everything in the video
using Fast boot with the Modified Firmware everything went ok with no problems
I did not even get the "please flush image again immediately" thing
after booting back into the phone I find out that nothing has changed what so ever
& I know what to look for because my mom has the same phone all up to date but with out root & s-off etc...
I want this update real bad so I can turn off blinkfeed & you can only do that on Sense 5.5 or higher.
Well the place where you go to turn it off is not there :crying:
I'm no noob but I don't do this kind of updating everyday
so what am I doing wrong????
Are you trying to use that RUU?
If so you will need to flash the full firmware first then the RUU.
Now my phone is fubar!!!!!!
I was trying 5.03.651.3_modified_firmware_RUU.zip when I did it
the full what??
be descriptive
and to make matters worst I have ****ed up the OS.
I got sick of w8ing for help so I tried doing the full 5.03.651.3_firmware_RUU.zip
it will no longer boot into the OS
all I got now is Hboot & twrp This is bull **** there has got to be easier ways then this
So now what do I do????????????????????????????
The good news I'm now on Hboot 1.57
I know it's frustrating but easy with the swear words.
Run the RUU and you should be good.
I need help!!!!!!
ok dude I'm not trying to be an ass H
I'm just realy realy realy Fing mad
so if you are not going to give me step by step instructions
then your not going to be much help to me
I'm no pro at this
so to recap my HTC one is fubar & all I got is Hboot 1.57 & twrp-2.8.0.2-m7wls
I went into twrp & did a wipe on sys in the hope that would fix
so I did the wipe & went back to Hboot & flash boot the 5.03.651.3_modified_firmware_RUU.zip & now when I boot into the OS
all I get the white HTC screen & nothing more
is there anyone who is going to help me?????
Well looks like it a brick now
nothing I do is fixing this
not 5.03.651.3_modified_firmware_RUU.zip
not 5.03.651.3_firmware_RUU.zip
and I tried rolling back to the old one modified_firmware_4.06.651.9.zip
no matter what I do all I get the white HTC screen & nothing more :crying:
looks like I will have to go to sprint tomorrow :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

You need to RUU because you wiped your OS in twrp.
The modified firmware does not include hboot/recovery/boot.img(kernel)
The reason you don't have an OS is you wiped it in twrp.
Build number/Software won't change unless you flash a 5.03.651.3 rom.
The best way to check if it worked is to check the baseband to see if it changed.
ok its working again
ok its working again
I did not know that was the file I needed, I thought that's a stock rom so why would I want that
so I went for the other files.
This RUU app is new to me.

no the OS was Fed up before I did that sys wipe .
I only did the sys wipe because I thought that would help fix it what the modified firmware Fed up by removing the bad OS & retry installing the modified firmware.
before that I did the modified firmware & it soo did not work!!!!!
so I don't know what happened but I do know that post with the update was really vague for someone who does not do this kind of thing often.
