Hello, I have a Google Nexus One and I've had an issue recently. I've had this phone for more than 2 years and I've had cyanogen mod 7 ever since as far as I know. So here's the thing: I haven't downloaded anything in the past week. But, last night when I turned on my phone it would show me the "+" nexus splash screen and then go to the cyanogen mod 7 intro. As the arrows cycles the circle 5-9 times, it freezes for a couple of seconds and goes back to the beginning. I don't want to wipe my phone so if there's any other possible way to fix this please help me. Oh, and I have not rooted my phone.
Thank You Very Much,
Edzilla007
If you're running cm7 then your phone is rooted
Boot to recovery and try wiping cache and dalvik and see if this helps, if not, try flashing the same rom from recovery without any further wipes. otherwise you probably need to do a full wipe and reflash
Best of luck

I've been using Continuum great for about a week. 2 days ago, I flashed my modem -- still working great. Today I decide to reboot and the phone is now stuck in an endless cycle. I see the Continuum logo flashing without end. I get an occasional vibrate tone.
I can boot into the ClockWork Recovery tool just fine to do installs, etc.
Is there anything I can do to recover from here short of starting over with a new ROM install?
Shot in the dark, recovery, advanced, delete davlik cache, reboot
Ya it its looking like you might just have to suck it up and go back to stock

stock might just be your best option here...
I just upgraded to the new CyanogenMod 7 on my Nexus 1 and unfortunately it is not loading. It gets to the CyanogenMod screen, with the Android guy on the stake board and the arrow going around him, but it just wont go passed that screen. It has never gone passed this screen.
What i have tried:
Taking out the battery and restarting it
letting it run for 30 minutes
If anyone one can help me I would greatly appreciate it
Regards,
Did you do a complete wipe including system partition?
Boot into recovery, full wipe and flash again
I went into to bootloader, cleared the storage, and it worked!!!
Thank you for all your help
Regards

I have a HTC Hero, today I tried to update my cyanogen mod 7 to 7.0.3 however when I did, I did all the proper steps to update the Rom properly however it did not work. So I tried a fresh install, and even tried a few new Roms still nothing worked. Recoveries work fine. When I restart my phone it hangs at the HTC screen then restarts and it will do this so far for up to 15 mins. someones gotta have an idea on whats going on. btw phone is rooted and running clockwork.

What version of cwm? Try flashing a different recovery version (maybe 2.7.0.5)
Make sure you factory wipe as well as format, system, data, cache.
Bad download maybe?

Guys i had this problem when i flashed my first ROM too ...(alas)
Buy my problem was a simple fix ,
: restart in recovery
: wipe all data
: restart and Enjoy
i have the most recent cwr and i wiped my data and everything. i have been flashing for more that a year now this is the first time ive had this issue. im gonna unroot and reroot the phone.
If you haven't unrooted yet try just reflashing your current recovery.

This has happened to me with different builds ( of all of the different gingerbread roms) since the switch from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 and .4.
When this happens, I will either try a different Rom, or use something called Fix Flash that is in the development section for the CDMA Hero. My phone currently is liking the Jaybob build. Also, as silly as this might sound, but formatting the partitions 3x can actually help too ( boot, system, data, and cache).good luck, I've been there.

Can't get past the HTC screen...
I got a new HERO200 as a replacement for a damaged one and am able to root it with confirmed SU permissions. I have tried clockwork 2.5.0.7 and RA 1.6.2 for the heroc. I tried flashing Cyanogenmod 7 (7.0.2 / 7.0.3 / 7.1.0 / and even a 6), AOSP and it keeps hanging at the HTC screen when I reboot the device out of recovery. The first reboot after flashing a ROM will briefly display the HTC screen and then go black. I have to remove the battery to reset the phone. When I power it up again, it will display the HTC screen and just hang, even after multiple restarts via a battery removal. I have wiped all the data/cache/etc. multiple times as from a previous post in this thread, but without luck. I'm getting very frustrated to say the least and any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
never had a rom not booting, but i haven't tried them all,
try the older version again see if it works
I just run the nightlies and skipped the rc and haven't experience such things. could be something to do with the signing?

I have a recurring issue trying to install any roms on this device. Every time I perform an install, after I reboot I get the error that the android keyboard has stopped working (keyboard crashes). It happens over and over. I can't type anything and the home button doesn't work, either.
I wipe the system and cache before doing every install, do a factory reset after, wipe dalvik, let it sit before rebooting. It doesn't matter if I wait 5 minutes or an hour, I get the same error every time. I have tried every rom in this forum, same result, same error.
I end up having to restore back to factory rooted every time.
Is there something that I just keep forgetting to do? Something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using TWRP or cwm?

I was using cwr originally with this phone and with all previous phones, but switched to twrp since most people say it's better.

And it still happens with twrp?
These are the steps I take with twrp.
1. Wipe data
2. Wipe system
3. Wipe cache/dalvik
4. Install rom
5. Install gapps if flashing aosp based rom.
6. Wipe cache/dalvik
7. Fix permissions *optional
8. Reboot then leave alone and don't touch for ten minutes.
9. Reboot again and enjoy.
If that doesn't work then something is wrong with your phone.

I have no idea if this will help because i've never had this problem, but as long as your phone hasn't frozen, maybe you could try installing a 3rd party keyboard from the Play store (do it from the Play store on your PC since you can't use the keyboard on your phone). Maybe that might fix what's broken, or at least give you the option to use another keyboard.
Another option would be to install Teamviewer QuickSupport from the Play store (again, use your PC). This free app allows you to actually control your Android phone from your computer (Your phone actually pops up in a window and you can control it with mouse clicks), so you might be able to troubleshoot a little bit easier using that, or install apps, etc.
Also, if you are installing Gapps, make sure you are using the right one for your specific ROM. There are separate ones for JB ROMS and ICS ROMS (if I remember correctly). Also, make sure the one you are using is the latest version for that ROM.
I hope one of these suggestions helps. If either one does, click the thanks button.
Hey folks, I've given my Inc S to a family member since getting my Nexus 4 and today they came to me with a pretty weird issue.
When I got the phone in my hands, it was acting incredibly slugish. Took over 10 sec to load the dialer, even longer to open gmail. Rebooting the phone took over 15 mins for Nova Launcher and a few widgets to fully load. Not only that, the defaults were resetting themselves. Nova Launcher and HTC Sense Launcher were asking which to use, Skype and the Dialer were reset too. I had no idea what it could have been, so I booted into recovery, made a cwm backup and dirty flashed the ROM, Nik's Project X Rebirth. Now instead of taking a long time to boot up, I could see it trying (first white HTC logo), then failing and rebooting into 4EXT (After going from the HTC Logo to a black screen, then back to the HTC Logo then recovery). I then completely wiped system, data, cache, and davlik, reflashed the ROM and gapps. Still won't get past the HTC Logo. I tried changing ROMs to Szezso's CM10, without/with gapps and still haven't had success. After poking around on 4EXT I noticed an info window, which shows the memory usage of the different parititons. When I flash Nik's Project X it shows System with 549.2MiB total space, and 540.5MiB free. I find it hard to believe that the System is only using less than 9MiB for the whole thing. This is where it gets weirder... After flashing Szezso's CM10, it won't display the size and free space of System. Instead it shows --MiB. BTW, every flash completely successfully without error.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here, or how to fix it? I'm beginning to think that the internal storage is dying.

I don't think a faulty microSD card would display the symptoms that the OP has described? Unless you've moved a bunch of your apps to your sdcard...
