Hey,
Just wondering if there's an app that blocks every permission and asks them the moment the other apps want to use that permission. Something like UAC for windows.

Hey everybody! I downloaded this app from the store (Link here using a host.txt file) and I wanted to make so I could switch it on when opening apps like youtube or twitch (i use it to block ads).
Is there a way I can do that with tasker? I'm no expert user and for what I tryed so far I cannot find any way, maybe someone here could help me out!
Thanks in advance!
p.s: If there is any way to accomplish the same with another app, that would be fine as well
If you have root, just put the file in /system/etc/hosts with the correct permissions.
If not, an app called AdBlock Plus has a VPN function, if I remember right.
Use a profile that triggers when YouTube launches. In the entry task, have an action that launches your vpn app.
When you first open an app for the first time, there will be a dialog box to prompt you for permissions on access to the hardware, for example, permission to accept or deny access camera or phone, location, etc. I'm having issue where my phone doesn't remember my choice and keeps prompting me every now and again to grant permissions again. Is there a way to fix this? I've only recently encountered this problem on my Mi MIX.
So I’ve discovered when trying to use apps that use the display over app function crash instantly and I can’t find anything else where online. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions would be great thanks I don’t want to return the phone but I use some of these apps for work.
What apps? Because some time ago Google made changes to how this works and apps must ask user to grant them permission to draw over other apps.
When upgraded to a newer version of Android, permission was not removed for already installed apps. But on new device, you most likely have to grant this permission after reinstalling your apps (and if you used old apps that do not check it this permission is granted, they will crash when trying to use it).
You can manage this permission in Settings > Apps > Special access (I other language on the phone, so can't say what exactly this section is called in English)
So I'm using octopus for customer keyboard mapping for some of my work apps. But I also have modded among us for custom servers and both apps crash even tho I'm granted permission.
Hi,
on my new Pixel 7 (all updates installed) App permssion get lost every day.
On Apps I already granted permissions (e.g. Notifications) after about one day I get prompt for to grand permissions again. Normally this should happen only after few month of not used apps.
I guess on my phone the play protect feature is broken and so permissions are revoked way to soon. In PlayStoryApp >> Usersettings >> Play Protect >> settings I click on the bottom menu Item and the app crashes.
Workaround: Disable Play Protect for each app. Has to be done for each app separatly. So not very good workaround.
Any Ideas?
cheers
Timo
I encounter a similar behaviour. Notification permissions persist on my pixel 7 but file access or access to user data get revoked every day. If I restart the phone during the day all apps still have their granted permissions. But if I start the phone in the morning permissions are revoked.
I enabled "restrict background battery" for few apps. After reboot, those settings are lost.

Same here !
It is possible to stop permission monitoring via developer options --> running services --> permission monitoring --> stop. Unlike some other vivo services it dosen't restart.
Why? Well it interferes with shizuku and constantly kills shizuku. If it's stopped shizuku started via adb command will run until reboot. Also it constantly messes around if you remove permissions from vivos spyware apps / system apps.
Most phone OS have an option in developer options to disable it. Howevre Origin OS 3 is missing it. Could we create a key with setedit or similar that is respected? Anyone knows which key Oppo Color OS (which has this setting) is changing and the text of it? As usual vivo is only hiding features I'm pretty sure but if we know the name we can set it permanently.
Well I think it's related to device management (com.vivo.devicereg) app. If I remove this- then the permission monitoring is off as well. Now I think the device monitoring if uninstalled broke something? Or did I confuse that with something else?
I removed from day 1 as well. No problem so far I guess. I also didn't have any problem with shizuku before, but for now I'm not using it anymore.
so we can disable or remove com.vivo.devicereg safely? just to double check....thank you
yes i think so.
