I've seen a Youtube video where a guy removed an official Sony screen protector. No not the one with the translucent plastic pull-out tab.
He used a knife to remove it. Bad thing was, the Sony logo was embedded on the screen protector. So if you remove the screen protector, the Sony logo goes along with it.
Any of you guys tried it then used a different screen protector?
There was no screen protector on my Z1 and the Sony logo is still there.
I think you have missunderstand something.
Do you have a link to the video?
There is screen protector on every Z1 and like you said Sony logo is embedded on the screen protecton. So when you take it off the sony logo be gone.
I think you confusing something, the video shows how you can take off the Anti-Shatter Screen Protector (ASF) which come with the phone. If you look closely to the glass of you phone you will see there still a tiny screen protector and if you remove it the Sony logo will go out with him because the logo is on it. So if you apply any other screen protector on the phone the Sony logo will not come off if one day presumably you will try to remove the screen protector which you apply. BTW is not recommended to remove the original anti-Satter screen protector from Xperia device.

Eclyptos is right. And to add to it, if you remove the anti shatter film you void your warranty. So definitely not recommended

i did a search and i could not find a thread about this
i have a question about screen protectors do i need them for my xperia z
i want one only at the back
i have plans on peeling off the anti shatter film from the front i see no reason in doing it at the back or should i?
i want a screen protector for one single reason and that is antifingerprint coating
i have read that the xperia z is a fingerprint magnet and i want to avoid that so i want to buy a full body screen protector
zagg screen protector (the retailer i bought the xperia z from said sony recommended invisible shield thats why the retailer has it for sale with the z)
do i need a screen protector for the back only to avoid fingerprints and smudges does invisible shield do that
as in the original edition
is there any point in removing the anti shatter film from the back aswell? i see no reason for it but i don't know

I actually put the supplied ones on both the front and the back, and to be honest I cant tell they are on the phone at all. The main reason for doing this is because the phone is in my pockets with keys etc and yeah people will say it won't get scratched but I rather have them on for now then in a few months time take them off. Also with the protectors on you can only see a couple of finger print marks, I don't think it is as bad as say the ipad screen and this is when in certain light/angles and the screen is off.

how much less/more fingerprints
without the screen protector?
i care mostly about fingerprint protecting i am far too careful to get scratches i will for example never put my phone next to something it is either in a plastic bag or a case
I'm in doubt buy a protective film to use the Xperia Z, but I'm afraid to lose touch sensitivity and screen brightness too!
The anti-shatter that comes standard is very easy to scratch? I mean just scratch with normal use of the fingers!
On my Xperia S, the original film it was only scratching with normal use! I removed the film and left without!
But the Xperia Z to remove the film, the Sony comes out soon too and I did not want to lose it!
1) You left without anti-shatter film, only with him or bought another protective film?
2) Someone found to sell a new film with the logo of Sony?
You could remove the file to give it a cleaner look and then you can put on a screen protector that doesn't scratch like spigen ultra thin screen protector. But if you don't want to lose the logo put another screen protector on top. You won't lose screen responsiveness unless you get really bad quality screen protectors.
Press thanks if I helped

I bought Zagg Invisible Shield, is it good?
I have a minimal scratch on the back , used the phone very carefully but I don't know how I got it ( it's very small but it is) so it's scratches very quick ( at least in my case ) so I bought a film for the back. I will buy for the front too , but I will wait a little bit cause here in my stupid country we don't have alternatives

Is it good? I'm wondering about replacements for mine.
I bought my Xperia Z off ebay and there is a fairly hefty scratch in the middle of the screen. However, as it's second hand I don't know if this is on the asf itself or on a screen protector that was put on top of it. Obviously I can take the top layer off and if the Sony logo comes off with it I have my answer but I'd rather keep that Sony logo on there (even if it means putting up with the scratch). Anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Just look closely at the edges and see if there's more than one layer
I got my Z3C today, and noticed that it comes with a screen protector built-in.
Is this something that I should not remove? Is the screen similarly fragile to the Xperia Z/ZL?
I had thought that they no longer put these protectors on from the Z2, so it is a little confusing, but I ordered a tempered glass protector, and I'm wondering if it would be wise to take off the screen protector currently on there and apply it, or if I should apply it on top of the current protector.
Thanks for help.
Yours arrived with the screen protector applied? My screen protector came in the box for me to apply myself.

Are you sure there was no other screen protector below that one? I think on mine there is a screen protector which I didn't apply along with one which I did.
now that i look harder, you could be right..there might be one on there...but i can't really tell for sure, and I don't want to try to peel it off to find out (in case there really is one applied). My phone is the white model, so it's really hard to see
If there is one on there, then it's applied really well. Do you notice one applied on the back as well?
When i saw the screen protector in the box, i just assumed they left it up to us to decide if we wanted a screen protector applied.
Mine didn't even come with a screen protector in the box (Belgium)

For your sake I'd say leave it on it. It won't hurt you and it probably wont give you any trouble in terms of touch responsiveness after you've added the Tempered glass protector.
My anti shatter film got really badly scratched
So can someone tell me is there a way to change it? And is Sony logo printed on ASF or directly on the phone

as far as i know, the Anti Shatter Film cannot be changed even in Sony Service Center, and the Sony Logo is printed on the Anti Shatter Film not the display.
So if you're going to remove the Anti Shatter, keep in mind that you'll lose the Sony Logo and the Screen's Warranty (differs from each City)
You may search youtube for how to remove it and what will the device looks like without it

The logo is on the film.
I changed the film and got a tempered screen protector instead from aliexpress.
can anyone post photos of the device's screen after removing the ASF ?
