So, I wondered if anyone encountered this extreme heating too. I tried rebooting and even reflashing, but it did not change anything. As i did researches I found out that the processor constantly runs at high frequencies (>1000 MHz). I am using the kernel which is implemented in that rom, and even flashing Iodak V9.5 did not solve the problem. So if anyone could give me a hint that solves the problem, that would be great. :good:
Did you try flashing a stockrom? If that doesn't help it sounds most likely like a mechanical problem so maybe some part needs to be replaced...?
I would backup and then try another rom, as I think it's ROM related if kernel change didn't help.
Maybe the performance settings or a third party app is conflicting?

Hey everyone,
I flashed ICS a few days ago and then a day or two later flashed rocket rom. I am not really sure if this problem happened before rocket or not.
My phone randomly "shuts off". Maybe it doesn't wake up, I don't know how to tell the difference. I have to either pull out the battery or do a hard reset sometimes.
Any suggestions as to what I should do? Go back to gingerbread? Or reinstall rocket? flash a different ROM (midnote, etc)?
Thanks everyone!

There is an app called Wake Lock or Keep Awake or something that won't let your phone get into deep sleep so it doesn't happen.
Had the same problem, I remembered from the HTC HD2 forums something about avoiding it by turning off auto-brightness.
After having 4 sleep of deaths in 3 hours, I had it once in 24 hours. Dunno if that's what affected it, but much better. Try it.
Kernel related. Flash a different one. Wipe cache and dalvik after kernel flash.
Some kernels are plagued by this problem because of kernel base used. Minor hardware changes in newer batches do not like the old kernel base.
Hi all,
Strange issue here. My GPS performance has always been great, but a couple of weeks ago it has suddenly bexomevunusable. Google navigation looses my position constantly and is extremely inaccurate. I downloaded GPS test and my accuracy is never below 150 feet or so.
I have tried factory resetting the phone and even tried installing rocket rom, no change.
Any ideas?

what rom u on?
check your kernel version.. lpt is known to be stable .. different rom use different kernel.. could be your kernel issue
Thanks for the responses, I first had issues under LPY, the thing is...I had been running it for over a month no issues, the GPS just started acting up one day.
Now I'm on the latest rocket rom, which uses a different kernel. So I'm having the issue with two different kernels.

My friend's samsung galaxy mini, running on cm9, sometimes reboots automatically... this heapens every time when he preforms an action wich takes some cpu. (Like whatsapp, playstore or sometimes even when just unlocks the screen. We tried a clean cm7 rom and a heavily tweaked cm7 rom. So they are very different roms, but still same problem.
Is this a common problem and does somebody know a solution for this?

Yea still CM9 is buggy and is stil nt gud for daily use. N rest of the roms are working fin like CM7 stable version or Cyanmobile experience or new experience by autoradio
Coz we nvr experienced des probs. These probs wil b in the initial versions of certain roms. So try stable versions of roms and you shouldn't get reboot probs..
Hit thanks if that helped u:thumbup:

Well that is not common, maybe he should not overclock his phone. try Cm7 by mebitek or creeds 4.0 rom. Maybe apps force close as he is doing heavy multi-tasking. If u think its hardware defect, u can flash a stock rom and play the dumb at service centres.

Ur welcome, glad it turned out well.
This problem started since i was in kdv7.4 and my kernel was glnote core forgot what version it was the last version before hydracore.. using oc version and my voltage group is B
Here is the bug
Some times when i use the phone something appears in my screen its like a black and white wave going down.. after that black and white wave i will soon lose my signal.. at the same time i notice that the gnote is very hot.
I upgraded my kernel to hydracore still the same issue happening( tried to report my prob in the hydracore forum if someone can help me there apparently none)
The above bug was not that irritating yet because the bug will only last for about 5-8seconds..
Now i change my rom to asylum aokp rom v2.0 the problem got worst
The phome usualy goes very hot radomly even without playing games.. then black and white wave going to occur and will shut my mobile signal this will last in a minute.. to solve the prob i need to plug in a charger... tried to ask in asylum forum if they had the same bug they said that their rom is fully stable. And also sometimes when this problem occurs my phone just automatically turn off.. (battery around 50-70 percent) when i try to turn it on again battery now 1 percent dont know why??? Can some one help me with this??? I always do a clean install of roms and kernels.. help please..
Here is the video showing that bug http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OMqXzJKeqo&feature=youtu.behttp://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OMqXzJKeqo&feature=youtu.be

Try to format your internal sd.
Try speedmod kernel with kd v7.4
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Knock on wood, but I am currently using as well the latest KD v7.4 with the latest version of the speedmod kernel, and I don't have that kind of odd issue you have.
always use speedmod kernel this kernel is way better then hydracore kernel

+1 :good:
Once I had a real nasty battery drain, about 1%/min. Solved it with battery calibration. But never experienced such drain as you describe and don't know how to solve that yet. Does this happen even directly after clean rom installation, or could it be any app or tweaking settings you do afterwards? Do you have the time to check CPU+GPU speed when you notice your note suddenly start becoming hot, and also apps CPU usage, before it crash? Maybe you can get a hint there. Does the same thing happen if you start phone in Safe Mode? It's a good idea to backup rom before you boot into Safe Mode.

Not sure what u mean by 'Better', every kernel has its good and bad side.
Also try moving to Standard version instead of Overclocked. Some Note can not handle OC.
Really needs help. I post a video on youtube above to show the prob... i have erased my whole internal sd change my rom to pa rom. Standard version of hydra core and i still get the bug...

Hi Pierre.. I saw your video and I too am puzzled on what's causing your phone to just suddenly turn off.
just out of curiosity, you did not install some overclocking apps on your phone right? no tegrak mumbo jumbo stuffs to change or speed up your phone before right?
Now if your not using any overclocking apps... you can try using a different brand new battery on your phone and see if the issue still persist after.
Replace your battery.
I believe this is caused by your battery because i get that wave when i use a non original battery ( some cheap ****ty battery ) and that wave starts when im at low battery.
you can borrow from your friends to see whether im right or not

Thanks dude thats what im thinking about also. The funny part is that im using the original battery. But i'll try it. Is battery covered by samsungs warranty?

Don't forget to clean out the battery contacts at the back of your phone as well bud...

I mean, cleaning (not clearing..my apology :silly.. wipe clean the battery contacts at the back of your phone before you put in the replacement one.
go back to stock gb, clean install nothing custom, no root.
Test again, reproducible?
Yes, then Samsung service centre
No, incompatibility with what you had installed Dont go back, unless you install newest versions everything
Send it to samsung service .. they said that my battery port(at the back) was grounded that was the cause of it that also made my battery bloated.. they will change the whole motherboard for warranty.. Back to Scratch..
Hello guys not sure whether others are having this issue but with all the custom roms that I have tried except for arhd the touch screen randomly becomes unresponsive and the only solution is to lock and unlock the screen and it works fine after that.
I tried everything that I could think off- different kernels different roms, different overclocking frequencies governors you name it have tried it. Every time I think I have found a solution it happens again which is bloody annoying.
Interestingly it doesn't happen when the phone is plugged in to charge so am wondering whether it is related to voltage settings in the kernel or rom. If anyone has had the same issue and found a solution they could share that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

All ICS roms? There is a problem with the touchscreen on all ICS sense roms. It has to do with HTC's source which has dodgy touchscreen drivers or something. Try flashing hunterwu's kernel: it has fixed touchscreen and it really works.
It has nothing to do with clock speed, voltage, or anything. Try the kernel and see if it still has problems
Thanks Mark. I am using hunterwu's kernel. It is not the multi touch issue. The screen just becomes unresponsive completely and locking unlocking the phone sorts it.
Happening on all ics roms except arhd so not sure what it is...
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
I have not had such issue to this date, at least nothing I noticed. But I did notice ARHD works the best out of the ics roms, in general that is. So could be some random bug on other ics(I used to use project x but had no issue)
Ok for me it boils down to hunterwu kernel. Been running redux for 2 days now without a single episode of screen non responsiveness.
On hunterwu it happened like a gazillion times each day.
