Just wondering if anyone has managed to succefully use an MTP enabled music device (such as a car head unit or stereo) with an HTC one?
I have a car head unit that works fine with a $50 Android 4.0 alcatel phone but doesn't seem to work with my Android 4.3 HTC One.
Any advice is appreciated!

I don't believe there are any cars which support MTP for now. UMS is only supported in most cases and you need a car from sometime this year which by a small tiny chance will support UMS. The alcatel phone has an ext SD card, am i wrong? That allows for UMS. Sorry man but if you want an MTP player in your car, ya gotta refit the audio or get a new car. BTW here is a LINK to one of those players. Hit me up with a thanks if i helped. PM me if you have more questions

I installed a new headunit. It specifically states Android compatible (must be android 4.0+ with MTP). This is what the headunit states....So I think it is compatible. It also seems to work with a friend's Galaxy SIII, it just doesn't like my HTC.
But thank you for trying to help.

Never seen that error before ._. Sorry man. Just googled it and seems people are having problems with the pioneer and having the exact same error. Maybe pioneer has a for that you can discuss this abt?
So this is my unit: http://www.pioneer.com.sg/storefront4/ProductDetail/default.asp?ProductId=1349&CatId=,2,33
It says under specifications "requires CD-MU200 (for Android)." Any idea what that is?

Hi all,
I don't know if it's possible with previous versions to JPH, but I have connected an Apple mice and a keyboard to my SGS with the stock JPH rom, without any hack, it works great.
This phone, and of course Android, is amazing!!
Cheers!
EDIT: sorry I forget to say that the mice and keyboard are bluetooth

Would you be able to try with a Wiimote using this app?
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid
Yes, yes, I'm too lazy to flash JPH and try by myself
I pray that you are correct, if so that removes my only remaining small gripe with the phone (can't wait to try out my Datel Retro Wireless controller!!!!).
Can anybody else confirm?
(...having just got my GS perfectly set up with Voodoo and a bunch of other things I don't want to flash again unless this is solid)

Yep, I realised that the problem of Wiimote controller is not the absence of HID drivers..
It's because Touchwiz uses his own bluetooth module (maybe i'm technically wrong, but this is the substance) instead of the Android one. The same happens with HTC phones with Sense..
And that app doesn't recognize Bluetooth!
I'm pretty sure we'll be able to pair and play with the Wiimote if/when CyanogenMod (AOSP rom that use "normal" bluetooth) will be out.

It won't nullify it. People returned their n7s rooted and customs Roms and received their replacements. You can always unroot and return to full stock. I doubt we will ever see official support for 3g dongles.

yes,it's very simple man.RMA is the assistence centre in case of problems.with nexus image i refer to THIS.they are google's images for users who want to re-stock the tab to its natural conditions,or if you screwed the tab and want to do a clean install\format of all.it's praticaally the google standard firmwares for related version of nexus devices.with that you can always restore it with factory's state.there's more to read,do a simple search here or google,we are OT with that.
EDIT
if yu have a not-working key web,i suggest trying THIS,how explained from D and so on with the app putty for windows.pratically it deactivate the composite devices of the 3g dongle

I am from India too, got my N7 in August, I have been in the US since the last 2 years, moving back in Nov. Dont worry, Asus said they will honor N7 warranty in India. Plus N7 is launching in India in Nov for around 15k. So please dont commit sacrilege by not rooting a nexus. Its part of the Android commandments- "Thou shalt not use thine nexus unrooted."
I tried this with a friend's huawei, can't remember which model but newer than mine and it worked fine. With my E160 it goes a bit nuts, won't detect a modem and doesn't work with manual settings.
Does anyone have an E160 working with their N7?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Got it, for anyone interested, sending the following at command to the modem port (use a computer to do this, use Google to find a utility for your OS, Hyper Terminal works on Windows) disables the built in SD card reader and the emulated CD ROM drive. Now it works in the N7 after a reboot.
at^u2diag=0
If you want to enable them again (and stop it working on the N7) it's
at^u2diag=255
I see that sert00 posted a link to this info already but it was a little buried in the post...

I can confirm that this works with my 3G/UMTS ZTE K4505, commonly found in Europe (I am using it with Vodafone.de). Only had to manually set the PIN and the APN. The wiget itself is a bit finnicky with my set up - Stickmount seems to interfere when the widget is looking for an open modem port and attempts to mount the inbuilt Micro-SD reader on the stick. I simply unmount all devices via Stickmount, remove PPP widget from my home screen and then re-add it. This seems to fix the problem, I am then able to connect.
Kudos to Josua!

If you ever need to use the warranty you can unroot, or if you are really worried you can even do a complete factory restore, and nobody can ever tell that you were rooted. The only time Google/Asus is going to care is if you use the warranty and say something is wrong with their hardware but it turns out it was actually something wrong in your software (which is why it's a usually good idea to do a factory restore before sending it in, rooted or not, because doing so eliminates that variable).
PPP widget DOESN'T work with e3131 dongles. Can anyone confirm whether disabling the sd slot would solve the problem? (on the dongle, that is, not the tab)

Working fine with mine even if there's a memory card insterted. ZTE HSPA+ MF668A.
Try searching for "AT commands to disable automount of cdrom/removable media" specific to your dongle.
After that, upon inserting the dongle to your N7, it will still ask you if you wanted PPP Widget or stickmount to use. Choose "just once" and not "always". So you can use the dongle as a modem, or a removable drive anytime.

I got it working by disabling to CD drive and the SD reader with AT commands. Works flawlessly now but it didn't matter what I did before doing that, it just didn't work. Possibly different E160 firmware.

I can confirm that it won't work with an OTG adapter, the HTC One has insufficient voltage to power the controller.
However, I think it's possible to use it via bluetooth. But I'm not certain about that, it'll be best to let someone else confirm that.
Thanks

I've also tried and it doesn't work. I don't think its a matter of insufficient power either, everything I plug in gives that warning and most of it works regardless. I'll try with a powered USB hub too, but I expect it not to work there either.
So from reading just about all the threads in the dev sections, it seems that Bluetooth is something that is inherently broken frome htc? This would explain alot of things...including why my awesome Bluetooth nyko controller doesn't work. lol. Anyone have any input on this matter? And i guess another thing i was curious about is the leaked 4.2 RUU that was posted in the dev section, does anyone know if the Bluetooth is fixed in that by chance? I know that the jump from 4.1.2 to 4.2 was a large improvement of Bluetooth for my nexus.
Bluetooth works just fine for me. Granted all I use it for is the headunit in my car.

Thats really weird. I always have problems trying to pair any bluetooth controller to the One. They all say they pair but never work in any apps :\
Bluetooth source is botched from HTC just for the Sprint variant. So on stock kernel you'll be fine but until fixed (which I'm working on) all custom kernels you won't be able to use bluetooth for calls. Streaming works fine.

Bluetooth pairing worked fine for me with my car, and I was able to import all my contacts to the car. Haven't actually used it for an in-phone call yet, but so far no issues. I also haven't rooted or run modded kernel/ROMs.
Bluetooth is only broken on custom kernels. I use viper rom and use Bluetooth all the time in the car for streaming and calls as well as at home with my desk headset from Plantronics.

Thanks for working on this! I love this phone aside from this, which is a serious inconvenience. When you say you're working on this, is it a custom rom or custom kernel that you're working on, or just the bluetooth problem specifically? My phone is currently stock, but I'll happily root it if you release a solution for this. Thanks again!
