mattiadj, hi!
What did you mean by saying "corrupts my EXT3 partition.."?
Please, explain for me. If it realy true - i think i can help you.
if it bug in sources, i can path them and recompile for us.
I have 32 gb sd and i need 1gb ext partition.
What i have did is:
Advacend
Partition SD card
Ext size 1024M
Swap Size 0M
Then wait for partitioning.
Now i have my sd ext partition is correctly created.
If i made a full wipe (factory reset) which also format sdext the fs of ext being corrupted!

theres your problem.
only use minitool partition wizard to create your ext3.
by using recovery cwm it won't work. its a many tried and failed way.
so resize sd card to allow 1.2gb unallocated space.
format 1.2gb unallocated space into ext3 and select primary.
apply each action seperatly. takes around 5 mins to complete.
use and sd card reader in your pc to do this
I have flashed 5.0.2.6 and now no problem with formatting sdcard with recovery in ext3.
I have take this version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478678

ok thats fair enough...your problem with ext3 will still exist.
cwm creates a swap drive. the scripts we use doesn't work with a swap drive...even set at 0, so all that work is for nothing...
if you want a working ext partition for the salsa, you have to create it in mini tool only......if you don't and create in cwm...you'll be walking around for days trying to get this to work!
ive stressed so many times for all you guys...you have to follow the ways setup....i know i tested it all out! i wouldn't be sitting here saying...don't make it in cwm if i didn't know what i was saying.
this version cwm is fine.....no problems what so ever.....you need ext3....goto the development forum here and see the advice given
recovery 5.0.2.8 has a problem with restoring sd-ext, it won't.
it will backup but not restore, reverted back to 5.0.2.6 and its fine on restore

Its happened to me before.. Even i try flash another Cust. ROM Just stays the same...
Finally i solve it with odin. Flash firmware and it will fix it..
Sent from my GT-S5830
to get more internal memory, do full wipe, them install rom, once installed, flash the file attached then wipe sd-ext reboot and it should be right to go
p.s for every 100mb free internal memory you get 500mb "internal memory"
Nothing different..i have do wipe factory data + wipe cache + wipe dalvik..then flash the ACE III rom + attachment..still same..178 memory internal..
did you wipe sd-ext after installing int2sd?
as i know..flash a new rom, its already format system, data, cache, sd-ext..
am i right??

You don't have to change any default settings in mount storage in cwm. It'll not change any performance lag.
Get rid of the lag by a clean and proper flashing.
If you are using cwm5.5.0.4 you cannot install zip from ext sd card. Try a newer version of cwm for that.

You said your ext sd card is not recognizing in your laptop.? Then change it.
If you have a Rom file already in internal sd card, flash it properly. Do a full data wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache. Then flash the zip, flash gapps.

If you created a partition for a2sd kinda stuff, stock might not understand what is it. Try fix permissions from recovery, if not, just flash a custom ROM.

is it enough if i reinsert my SD card and do the above procedures using CWM and do as you have mentioned (fix permissions or custom rom)?

After fixing permissions, you should try rebooting without sd card. It's only an idea, but it might work.

According to MiniTool Partition Wizard, yes, I have 1 FAT32 (about 30GB) and another Ext3 partition. However, the device doesn't read it, and I cannot partition through either TWRP or CWM. I'm testing Cronmod on CM10.1 now, will update.

TWRP or CWM should not be used to create a new ext partition if your sdcard already have another ext partition. Meaning you should have only one ext partition in your sdcard. So delete the ext3 partition and the fat32 partition, then create a single new fat32 partition on the 32BG sdcard. Now use the recovery mod to create the ext partition. That should work. Between Link2SD and CronMod, I would always go for CronMod. Then again its my opinion. Any way if you have any problem, just post here and I'll be glad to help

Oh my gosh. Link2SD is saying that there is no second partition.

You should know that CronMod and Link2SD doesn't work together. Since CronMod is present, Link2sd can't find the ext partition. What is the size of your ext partition. What rom are you using now? For every 512MB sd-ext partition you need a 100MB space on /data. So please limit your sd-ext patition to 1GB max.

As a last resort, try to reflash this rom. Make sure to backup all the data. Take the rom file, extract it, put 40int2ext file inside /system/etc/init.d/ and then compress it back. Now go to CWM, do "Wipe Data/ Factory reset", "Wipe cache partitions", Mount & Storage> "Format /system" and "Format /sd-ext", Advanced> "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and "Wipe Battery Stats". Now reflash the custom rom. This should pretty much solve it. Restore all the necessary data.

I've tried that already, and the device went into a bootloop. However, I used GParted to partition 777MB sd-ext, and the rest FAT32, and it boot up after flashing CM10.1 > GApps > CronMod INT2EXT4
The only problem was that the memory remained the same, and Partition info showed /sd-ext (EXT 0.00B/0.00B)
EDIT: For some reason sd-ext doesn't mount, but formats perfectly.
