[Q] Brother iPrint & Scan app and wifi direct - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I have a Brother printer model MFC-375CW.
Currently I can print from my laptop to the printer when my phone is wifi tethered. I can only print from my phone when I have another device with wifi tethering turned on (I don't have a router. I only use the phone for internet).
Is it possible to configure wifi direct on the phone to print to the printer? Or perhaps another method to print from my phone to the printer directly?

Interesting question...

Alright... here's my situation. I own a mobile business and bring a laptop with me on my route every day. I'd like to set it up so that I can print my invoices from my computer.
I bought the Lexmark Z418 with wireless capability.
Here's the problem: I currently just tether my connection (via bluetooth) from the kaiser for occasional web browsing; howver, I don't have a wireless network set up (no need when simply tethering). BUT I have to have a wireless network established in order to be able to print to this printer.
Should I:
A) Buy a wireless router and route my tether from the Kaiser to the Laptop to the Router and finally.... into a wireless signal (HAHA)
B) ????????? Help. Please? Any suggestions or ideas would be sincerely appreciated!
;-)
on my
can hardwire connect the laptop to the printer?
I forget the name but there is a programv that simulates a "virtual network"
It does come with a USB connection but that pretty much defeats the purpose the way that I have everything set up in my vehicle. :-( I have to do it temporarily for now and it's a pain in the neck.
if you can't make a virtual network perhaps your going to have to keep it hardwired you could get a long cable and run it realy nicely ie under the seat along the frame so itss not so noticeable
why is wireless so important? by the way

[Q] Reverse Tethering a PC to a Tab

I believe it is possible for a laptop to get internet access from a tab though the USB tether, Is it possible for it to be reversed?
Recently I broke the wifi trying to get it into ad-hoc mode, so I can't use the wifi to connect to the internet, marketplace, etc.
Is there a way for me to get a connection from my laptop to the tab?
Im on FROYO 2.2
Thanks,

Do you mean use your laptop as the wifi access point? In that case you will have to replace the default wpa_supplicant file. Search for the thread here....
Not as a wireless access point. I believe normally, you use the USB cable to get the internet on your computer from your Tab Data plan (Correct me if I am wrong)
So, I was wondering if you could use the internet connection from your laptop and forward it to your tab through the USB cable.
I use my tab as a wireless access point several times already-mostly at work because of network restrictions at the office.(Settings/wireless and networks/Tehtering and portable hotspots)
I don't know if you can use USB tethering from laptop to tab-probably not.....
Hi,
You can get a form.of reverse tethering over WiFi by using an application called Connectify (works best on Windows 7). Install Connectify, tell it which connection you want to share, then connect to the created hotbot on the Tab.
Obviously, if your Wifi is properly broken this isn't particularly useful, but Im not aware of any way that the USB interface could be used for tethering in that direction.
Hope this helps...

Yed as agc93 said, connectify shares your pc internet connection through wifi. You need to setup static ip address in the galaxy though.
Good luck

Print from Galaxy tablet to Wireless/bluetooth printer

Hey all-
Trying to see if this is feasible. If I set up my tablet to be a wireless AP, can I then connect a wireless printer to it and print directly (without use of having a home network ie..no router)?
So essentially have only tablet w/ 3G connection and use a wireless AP program to make it a hotspot. Connect the wireless printer to the AP and then print. Will I need a program like PrintShare too?
That would be interesting
anyone?

Dunno what you guy's try to achieve , but if you have a wireless printer check the drivers from the manufacturer. I popped over to Brother and got in no time my printer (DCP585CW if you must know) up and printing away ....

Can't connect to school wifi

When a device wants to connect to the school wifi it has to log in through a web browser. Because of this, my chromecast wont connect to the internet. It connects to the wifi, but cannot access the internet. Is there anything I can do?
Use another computer that lets you spoof your MAC address, change your MAC to match the chromecast, connect to WiFi and log into your school's gateway page, disconnect your computer and change the MAC back, and connect the chromecast.
Sometimes you can call the provider and they will hook it up on the end. I've had to do this several times with xbox

I had a similar problem, but I couldn't even connect to the wifi because it required my username and password for the wifi. So I bought a $15 router from newegg and it's working wonderfully. Plus, plugging into the ethernet in my room is faster and the connection is more solid. Definitely worth it.

Casting from phone with company VPN enabled issue

Hi!
I want to cast screen from my phone (LG G2 Android 4.4.2) to my TV when VPN to my company is enabled on this phone.
There is no problem when I do this from my laptop connected do VPN, but when I connect to company VPN from phone then chromecast connection dissapear.
Is there any solution? Please help.
Laptop is connected to my router via cable, phone via WIFI.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the answer is that you can't. I believe the Chromecast discovery implementation assumes that your CC will be on the same network as your primary network interface. Many VPN clients re-prioritize their network interface to #1 when they connect.
You could send Google feedback about the issue, but not clue how effective that will be: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3187017?hl=en
