The basics about Unlocked/Rooted HTC one? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
First of all, accept my apologies in advance if i sound a complete NOOB, cuz really I am. Im just looking for some help regarding the know-how of the phone I just bought.
We dont get locked phones in my country ( and by locked I mean like as u say these At&T and verizone or Sprint etc locked). I bought a silver HTC One and have been using it all fine and easy until I saw this blue HTC one( a used one) SO I exchanged my phone and now I have this blue HTC one...
The info from the software information is:
Android Version - 4.2.2
Sense - 5.0
Software number - 2.24.401.8
HTC SDK API level - 5.34
Kernel version - 3.4.1 - g28df0d6 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Build number - 2.24.401.8 CL235216 release-keys
(guess thats all there is to tell)
But apparently it is not working as it should. And by that I mean I tried hard resetting it and a weird screen came on...
it goes like this ....
TAMPERED ... and so on... and then there were other options like to Fastboot, factory reset etc that I could select from the volume keys..
So i got afraid that things are a little bit more technical than I can handle so i dint reset it.
- Now, the thing is I want to know that if my phone is unlocked than what carrier it originally was - whether resetting will lock me to that carrier or not?
- Apparently my phone was rooted ( dont know for sure, although I downloaded the root checker from play store and it says that I have root access ) SO why was it rooted in the first place. CAN it be that by rooting, my phone was unlocked from the carrier?
- IF i want to return to stock, how can I do that?
- Will returning to stock render my phone useless?
- Im upgrading to And 4.3.. but is it safe to do that with the state of my phone...?
By now, Im sounding like a complete BUM even to myself... so... but I really need help...

Unlocked network is not the same as unlocked bootlooter. Rooting will do nothing with the network lock (although there are some apps that can network unlock using root).
As for the screen you saw, that's the recovery screen which is acces via power + vol up, that's normal and is where you can reset your phone. "TAMPERED" means that the bootloader was unlocked before (to allow ROM flashing) but has been relocked to try make it stock again. I guess that means you bought it second hand?
Follow this guide if you wish to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358738. Make sure to take note of your CID, which you can see at the top of the recovery screen or using CID getter, and getting the RUU that matches it.
Once you followed that guide you should have a completely stock device that's got a locked bootloader, S-On and without the TAMPERED flag (so HTC does not know it's been rooted) with the stock firmware. Then just boot into the phone, set it up, and check for updates in the settings and it will upgrade to the latest version for your CID (either 4.3 or 4.4).

Ok, according to the CID getter, my CID is HTC_001, so now,
I go find the RUU for the HTC_001 and then do all that what was said above. I wanted to ask one thing before doing anything.. I bought this phone second hand.. Yes.. how can i tell that whether its and international version or an unlocked version for some network. It has no tell-tale logos of any network on it. Is there any sure shot way of telling which one is it?
Here is the info from the TAMPERED screen.. just thought about posting it so that if could further help in anyway..
***TAMPERED***
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***

CID tells you if it's been locked down to a carrier. HTC__001 (two _) is the unlocked UK version. So it's never been locked to a network, and I guess the previous owner just wanted to play around with cutsom ROMs.

I have managed to S-off my phone and downloaded the files required.. Im not sure about one thing.. is the kernel on my phone a stock one or what?
I have this Kernel version - 3.4.1 - g28df0d6 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
which one is it?

hey.. can someone point me out to the right RUU for my phone..?
Im tryin to match all these things but somehow one or the other stays diff..

You need the 1.28.401.7 ruu.exe from here http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
but you will need to downgrade hboot to 1.44 before.

Now.. DO I REALLY NEED TO REVERT BACK TO STOCK?
I mean, i just found mod (maximus HD) inside my phone and flashed that using cwm.
I have no problems so far and I do not have to send the phone back for warranty or anything, so do i really need to get back to stock? Cuz i think for that my expertise are lacking atm. I just wanted to update to the latest android... but figure i can do that using the same method i did for the maximus rom... no?
Any thoughts?

its up to you, if you don't have to send the device for repair then its not needed to revert back to stock and you can use your phone with the custom rom if you like it.

Hey, a quick question...
Will wiping the phone before flashing a custom ROM wipe my recovery image too? Im using TWRP. And just before hitting wipe, i thought what if this wipes my twrp as well.. So, I stopped and rushed here... anyone?
Here is what i was gonna do.. I moved the ROM zip into the internal storage of my phone --- > went into the recovery (TWRP) using GOO app ---> was gonna do the wipe (here is where I stopped) ---- %% after the wipe, i was going to "Find in Recovery "Choose zip from sdcard" choose appropriate zip file" and then follow the Aroma installers instructions ----%% reboot.
@alray
Thanks man..
As long as I have access to this forum, I feel brave enough to continue messing around with my phone.

No, wiping will not clear your recovery partition

Bricked again?

So got the Incredible S in the beginning of July and was very happy with it, beat the hell out of my old HD2 who got bricked Desided not to root this one cause it was already android and i didnt want to break the warranty. But then the 2.3.3 update came and i didnt recieve text and calls was dismissed. (it is an own thread about this issue on the forums) so i desided to try a rom from XDA to see if this could help solve the issue. It did not but i rooted the phone (S-off right?) and used it with GSM only.. today i talked with HTC support and got a hold of the RUU_Vivo_HTC_WWE_1.36.405.1_Radio_Radio_20.23.30.0 802U_38.02.01.11_M_release_172670_signed.. the cusomter support guy uploaded it and i installed it with the USB cable.. the installer said everything went fine.. the phone reebots.. boots to the HTC logo screen and turns off again.. and keeps on going in the same cycle..
I can get into bootloader, but when i press "power" to choose recovery it goes straight to the white htc screen again and reebots.. what to do now? Is this one dead also?
Tried rename RUU to PG32IMG and put it on the memory card.. still no luck it says "Bootloader - Bypasses"
"TP - Bypassed"
"TP - Bypassed"
Why? And still no luck tried with two signed RUU's now.. The bootloader says
Vivo PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 6.13.1002
At least i want all the Revolutionary stuff gone.. Any idea? Im out of ideas right now.. Oh geez, it booted the 2.1.3 RUU.. nice.
But why would not the other room work? This is the one i have to get workin.. Any ideas?
Does the RUU got a radio in it? Please share this RUU cause I believe this is not avaible anywhere. I would give it a try then and report if I have issues.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Yes I think it can be a radio conflict too, perhaps you downgraded it.
Here you go Please give a report if it work on your device
I also want to gain S-ON on my Incredible, used AlphaRevX Beta to get the S-OFF but i need it to be S-ON again, and i cant really fint the information on how to do it. These forums are amazing but very hard to navigate true, and find the information you are looking for.
Was thinking... You said you are S-OFF and then installed the 1.36 RUU. Possibly this RUU or ROM needs an older bootloader. Cause the bootloader cannot be overwritten (I assume you used Alpharev), the installation is aborted.
The newer RUU accepts the current bootloader and therefore is being installed.
I think, when you first downgrade your Hboot to the one that can be overwritten, the RUU should work and you can enjoy Froyo again!
So did it work ?

Restoring HTC ONE to Stock (Vodafone UK)

I've currently got Android Revolution HD 12.1 installed, however I need to return the phone to Vodafone UK Stock, due to returning the phone.
I found this link, which seems to give instructions on restoring the HTC ONE, however apart from downloading the OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_Vodafone_UK.......zip file from here, I'm really not sure which method to follow.
This is the information I have from the Software Information on my phone:
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel version: 3.4.10-g445d072
Baseband version: 4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01L
Build number: 2.24.401.1.CL211355
I would really appreciate some assistance

Here is a link to all RUU`s, zips and CWM/TWRP recovery rom`s http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874. You`ll need S-Off however to downgrade the Hboot. If you`re not S-Off you cannot Flasha RUU with a older Hboot. Guess you`re on HBoot 1.54.000 now. Till the revone devs find a way to modify the S-Off exploit you`re stuck, link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582.

I've already downloaded the OTA's: Vodafone UK file from that link, however I'm really not sure what I should be doing with it
Edit
Just curious, if my phone is S-ON, how have I been able to install a custom ROM and recovery?

If the bootloader is unlocked but you`re S-On you can flash a custom recovery and roms, you however cannot downgrade or flash a newer Hboot afaik. You can`t do anything with the OTA atm, not even flash a Vodafone CWM recovery i`am afraid.

With regards to the Vodafone zip file, is it possible to flash that somehow and give the impression that's in factory state?

No mate, you don`t have a Vodafone rom, you have a custom recovery and you would need to lock the bootloader. It is not possible atm, stick with the rom you`re on for now and do not lock bootloader. Wait for revone to modify the bootloader xploit to get S-Off.

I've just gone into Bootloader and it's showing Hboot as 1.44.0000 !!
Would you mind giving me a brief outline on what I should be doing to get my phone back to vodafone stock?y
Many Thanks
Would flashing the Vodafone OTA zip file in recovery be safe or do I need to S-Off the device?
Please can someone advise
Thanks
Wow, you have quite the adventure in front of you my friend if you want to return your phone to a pure stock state. I'll outline the steps and you can do some work and find the guides to complete them. Assuming you're on hboot 1.44 you'll need to go ahead and s-off, you can then remove the tampered flag. After you're s-off you're then going to need to double check you're using a stock unmodified hboot (you should be) and flash the pertinent RUU based on your phone - there are plenty of guides on how to select this. You'll then need to s-on again, google the command "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" to find some information on how to do that.
Basically you've got your work cut out mate, sorry I can't be more help but the process I've mentioned aren't as simple or as safe as unlocking the bootloader. You'll need to put some effort and most importantly care as any one of them can brick your phone. Once you're s-off you've opened up very sensitive partitions which if changed or written to wrongly can instantly brick your phone. As such I'd do a lot of research before you undertake any of these steps, this is just off the top of my head to give you some guidance so I'd also check them, you really can't be too careful when playing around with £500 worth of tech. Good luck!

You cannot do it with an OTA zip... you need a full RUU but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one available for Vodafone UK.
This one seems to be the closest one for you.... it's stock HTC Europe. I don't think at this time that returning to stock Vodafone is a possibility.
If you're sending it back for repair or replacement you could take a chance on sending it as it is.

Ok... you need to change that ID in the phone.
Reboot the phone to bootloader then fastboot and connect to pc then from your ADB directory on PC issue the command "fastboot oem writecid HTC__001" this will then give you the right ID for the RUU.
Note it's HTC__001.... 2 underscores !

Q: O2 UK Stock Bootloader/Rom/RUU -

Hello all...
I recently got an HTC One and decided to root it but now I am unable to get the 4.2.2 update.
Ive tried to find a way to revert back to stock but so far no luck.
I've only been able to get it back via a factory reset but the Team Win Recovery Project
and bootloader is still present and halts the 4.2.2 update.
phone details are...
Android version : 4.1.2
HTC Sense Version : 5.0
Software Version : 1.29.206.16 CL175272
HTC SDK API Level : 5.12
baseband 4a.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01L
CID is o2__001
Is there an RUU I can use to revert it back to stock?
Ive looked around but couldn't find an appropriate RUU
Only thing I have found is the OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_O2_UK_1.29.206.11-1.27.206.1_P_release_315484
Would using this in TWRP get me back to stock so I can get the 4.2.2 update?
ANY help would be hugely appreciated!!!

I don't know if this would work but...
I have a nandroid backup of my O2 UK One.
This was taken prior to upgrading via OTA to 4.2.2.
Upgrading to 4.2.2 meant my hboot became 1.54.
I now find that if I restore my backup that the touchscreen is completely unresponsive - as far as I can tell because of the hboot upgrade - as any 4.2.2 roms work fine - and a nandroid for O2_002 (Germany) which was prior to 4.2.2 exhibited the same behaviour.
What I'm suggesting is, if you haven't yet upgraded to 4.2.2 yet - then you may be able to use my backup to restore your phone to a state ready to receive the OTA and upgrade to 4.2.2.
Yup - I'm not too sure it would work either! WE could both do with someone with a little more experience to advise us here!
However - I'm willing to provide the backup - but I would ask one favour.
If it works - please, please, make a nandroid backup of the completed update (i.e. O2_001 4.2.2) and let me (and probably quite a few people here) get their hands on it!
As you've probably noticed - O2 variants are not well catered for either here - or indeed anywhere on the net.
If you want to give it a try PM me - and I'll provide a link so you download it and try it out.
hmmm

Well I'm back on O2 (thanks for that Gandalf) instead of the Euro ROM+SuperSID I was using before but still can't get it to update to 4.2.2
Just can't seem to get back the stock bootloader..
even when unrooted, locked(relocked)
played about with various recovery.img like has been suggested, no joy
Is there a way to manually update?
I'm absolute newbie at all this hehehe

You need to be unlocked to flash recovery.
The image supplied contains the original stock recovery.
ADB fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Also - probably flash the boot image
ADB fastboot flash boot boot.img
Relock - OTAs require that.
Also - have you reverted to your original CID?
Keep trying!
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Now I've woken up!
1) Make sure you're unlocked and S-Off
2) Change your CID to O2___001 ( that's 3x "_") - fastboot oem writecid xxxxxxxx
3) Extract boot.img and recovery.img from backup provided.
4) Place these files in the folder on your PC containing your fastboot file.
5) Connect the phone in fastboot usb mode
6) fastboot flash boot boot.img
7) Restart in recovery mode
7a) Personally I'd wipe everything here - data cache etc.
8) Restore backup
9) Restart to bootloader usb mode
10) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
11) fastboot flash oem lock
12) Reboot
You should now hopefully have an HTC One running 4.2.1 with a locked bootloader and the correct CID - OTA should work now.
If anyone reading this knows different or can point out any mistakes or best practises please do so!
well no joy so far
Given up on going back to stock at the moment, having too much fun with modded roms etc.
Tried multiple ways to get back to stock recovery and the strange thing is I can flash between various recover.img/boot.img and swap between the clockworkmod and TWRP but the stock recovery.img seems to not over write during the flash.
Each time it reverts back to the custom recovery with the
"entering recovery... this build is for development...
(I put the superCID back to default but would it be because it detects the S-off ?
from what I've read I didn't think that would matter tbh)
BUT..
I can now swap between the various custom ROMS/Nandroid backups with ease using clockworkmod, Rom manager and CWM Backup manager.
fun times!!!
From what ive learnt, 4.2.2 has a different method of saving backups to a hidden file that hasn't been showing up when ive tried to transfer the back-up to my computer. Even CWM backup manager has failed to pull the hidden backup across and show it as a visual file in pc that I can transfer across..
Maybe this is because of the lack of dev options in the Android Revolution HD-One 2.0 GE ??
and having to just use the HTC One as a "Media device MTP" rather than the usb with debugging ??
(or am i just missing something here?)
But.. have found Android Commander for the pc which has helped a lot with this
and now I'm learning a bit more about the file structuring in Android..
Anyway onwards, upwards and outwards ..
just scraping the surface of the Android os so far...

As I understand it the "dev purposes only" is because you don't have a signed boot.img.
The boot.img I supplied with the backup should be signed - did you copy it from the backup and place in your adb folder to flash prior to restoring the backup? Though, saying that, I thought if you were s-off that the boot.img would be restored as part of the backup. I'm at a loss as to why it doesn't work.
Likewise with the recovery.img.
As regards backup - try reading http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34116836 or alternatively use 6.0.3.1 as that older version allows for transfer/restore to/from external sd card via OTG cable - slowly tedious but it works.
Ah well - have fun - I'll have to wait until the devs fix revone to allow s-off with 1.54 so I can revert my hboot and restore my backup in order to achieve stock O2 rom and OTA .

You're welcome.
The reason I want to be able to restore to pure stock is to cover my ass if the phone ever needs to be returned under warranty.
Because of the 1.54 hboot update a lot of people are frustrated because they can't s-off and choose what they wish to do with their phone.
Fortunately - as I still have that nandroid I'll be able to downgrade my hboot, s-off and restore back to prior OTA - as soon as revone is updated.
Guys a little help here as well
I am lost tbh I have android version 4.1.2 software no. 1.29.206.16...bought it from O2 UK. I feel so helpless cz I am new with this stuff and I have no clue how to remove the stupid TWRP thing and unroot my htc one and update it to 4.2.2. Can any one pleasee tell me how to do it...as step by step guide please :'(

Hi guys, ive just purchased a rooted UK O2 phone running google play software and was wondering if you had the stock Nandroid or any kind of way to put my phone back to stock?

Hi,
I have an O2 HTC One. CID is 002 I think. I have S-On at the moment, but I am in the process of trying to get S-Off so that I can remove the ***Tampered*** and relocked signs.
I dropped the damn thing down the toilet and need to send it in for repair so I just wanted to make sure they dont get funny about repairing it when I have installed custom rom, because the reason for me sending it back is not due to that!
I have been searching the forums a bit and have found a nandroid backup of O2 rom, so will try that. The Android Rev 51 rom I have at the moment will not let me gain S-Off with rumrunner - always gives me an error. Going to try stock and see what happens.

Follow my guide to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
you can use:
Code:
nandroid [B]O2___102 1.27.206.1[/B]: ro.aa.modelid=PN0710000
ro.aa.cidlist=O2___001,O2___102
if it matches your "fastboot getvar all" (MID & CID)
but first you need to S-Off.

sure no problem, so first s-off, then follow the guide, you'll be 100% stock.

I checked your guide and gained S-OFF with firewater, much quicker and smoother and more importantly, actually successful as opposed to rumrunner!
One more question, the downloads for the backups are fairly slow and Im halfway done downloading M7 CWM Nandroid Backup CID O2 102 3.62.206.1.
Is this version just an updated one vs the 1.27.206.1 2013-03-30 ?
Which should I use?
Thanks

[Q] Flashed custom kernel on Stock rom..

So, with all the excitement of just getting my HTC one on saturday, I got down to business today doing some rooting. This is not my first htc device, i owned the evo 4g before.
With that said, What I did was have a rooted stock rom. I never flashed a new rom to the phone at all. I was trying to do the HTC logo button hack, I downloaded the kernel and flashed away. well, now the problem is the phone will start up and get to where the lock screen should be, It will show the status bar at the top and thats it, hangs for about 20 seconds and then restarts
It constantly does this... I have just updated the sprint software maybe 1.31 something? it was OTA I did before rooting.
I have tried to sideload a rooted odexed stock rom and have not had any success. I also tried running the sprint RUU but it was for 1.29, so it got almost to the end and told me it couldnt do it.
I am working from a mac, but have access to PC if needed. I am using clockwork mod recovery and can still get into it. just stuck on where to go from here..
All help is appreciated, ive spent the last 7 hours trying to fix this problem!
Guys, I am without a phone until this issue is fixed, any and all help is appreciated!!!

Do you have a rom downloaded on your phone? Did you make nandroid? If yes just restore. Do you have otg cable? If yes, download a rom. Do full wipe, cache, dalvik cache, data, and system. Try flashing the rom from otg. What kernel did you flash?
Sent from my lair.
The guy who made the htc one logo hack made a kernel that he released, I flashed that on top of the stock sprint rom. I had a nandroid, but it got wiped. I do not have an OTG cable. I have tried to sideload various roms and I can get it to boot, but I get no cell signal, sometimes i get the error that the system is not responding and i have the option to wait or kill.
I have gotten into the baseband settings and see that I do not have a baseband in there, maybe thats the issue? Also I just took the 1.31 ota update, I am getting an error using the sprint RUU about the boot loader not being correct version. from the fastboot screen I have the following
perhaps bad boot.img??

A flashed kernel will overwrite your boot.img, so that really shouldn't be it. An RUU requires your bootloader be locked though, which is probably part of your issue.

It keeps rebooting because of the system not responding, not getting any cell service at all

problem with that though, I do not see a windows executable from there. the other issue is im using a mac, as far as i know everything works the same when it comes to adb and fastboot.
How would I flash a zip file if I cannot access my recovery? for instance how do I push the file to my device? when i relock the phone, and try to enter recovery, i get routed right back to bootloader
Figured out the issue, turned out that the problem came from firmware being absent... I was able to reflash the firmware and away it went, able to get into the phone now and do what i please!
Thanks for all help from everyone!!!

[Q] Help! Problems to unroot M7_UL!

Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Your bootloader should already be unlocked, so simply get S-OFF using Rumrunner, then follow this guide.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

You should have LOCKED it before running the RUU, because that's what made you loose root.
So before proceeding, can you give me an update of your status:
bootloader: locked/relocked/unlocked?
tampered?
ROM?
"fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n)
