Restoring Stock Kernel problem - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been having issues restoring my Stock Kernel.
I made a backup in TWRP 2.6.3.4 and then installed ElementalX 13.0
I had a few issues so tried to go back to stock. However it installs but when i then try to redownload my purchased apps i get an error saying unable to install to internal storage or SD card.
I'd rather not have to go through reinstalling the whole rom again so can anyone help as to why i am getting this error and how to solve it.
Thanks in advance
Carl

[Q] Nook Color WON'T reset to factory settings!

Ok, so I installed cyanogen and wanted to go back to cupcake (some problems with compatibility for some apps). Made backups but lost them from file corruption. Even recent backups come up with MD5 sums mismatch on ClockworkMod Recovery. Can get cyanogen running again, but can't get back to ORIGINAL state.
I've tried hard booting 8x, I've tried running the script to change the bootcount but this just gets me to clockworkmod. I try running the factory reset/data wipe option, but it clearly doesn't remove cyanogen. When I reboot after this, I get stuck on the word ANDROID in blue. I've also tried sideloading a 1.1 version zip, all to no avail. Any suggestions? Would uninstalling clockworkmod help? Thanks.
Did you flash the 1.1 stock nook image with win32? Remember that in the 1.1 restore you just install "update.zip" through CWM. Are you sure that your original version was 1.1 and not 1.0.1? If all else fails, try a different SD card. Sometimes the SD card itself is the source of problems like this.
Factory resets won't do anything once you have flashed a new rom. You will have to restore it to stock. Nooks are very difficult to hard brick, so something should work.
No, I didn't flash it, just installed the update. My original version was 1.0, but would that make a difference? I wanted to go to 1.1 anyway. Tried a diff sd card, same problem. Any other suggestions?
No matter what I try, it seems cyanogen simply WON'T wipe. Even after formatting via clockwork, and after clockwork tells me it's successfully formatted, it still boots up as normal. I believe it's interfering with restoring to stock.
Solved
MUST uninstall clockwork mod. Finally worked after this step http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960542&page=16 as per instructions here. Thanks everyone!

[Q] Error while restoring /sdcard/.android_secure! - SAS

Am using HTC Incredible S HBOOT 2.00
I recently unlocked the bootloader and installed ClockworkMod recovery and Cyanogenmod 7.1 ROM.
Before installing I took the backups properly. I tried restoring the same before installing the new rom. It was restored successfully.
The issue came when i booted with Cyanogen and used that for sometimes. and now I wanted to restore it.
I did reset the phone and wiped off davik cache as well.
I restore one of the versions and it resore everything and given a message ""Error while restoring /sdcard/.android_secure!"" at the end and I rebooted the phone, It kept on rebooted in recovery mod.
Am unable to use my mobile now. As a beginner to android I dont know wat to do.
Please help me ASAP. I want to get rid of this.
possible corrupt backup or old version of cwm. Try reinstalling the rom.

How do I restore?

Flashed to LiquidSmooth (4.2.2) ROM
got bored
and I now I don't know how to go back to my
original ROM anymore.
Tried wiping cache/data/delvik
and tried to install the original ROM provided by my phone carrier.
It keeps saying "installation aborted"
Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks.
Restore from a backup or reinstalling a rom?
I always make sure the files are on my ext sd when flashing because I have had issues with installing from the internal sd card
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda premium
read the basics before doing anything.
you need to restore the backup you should've made.
if you ignored the instructions and didn't make one, then you have to factory reset from recovery and then flash your old rom

Phone keeps booting to CWM

Just bought the phone and Dev Unlocked it and Rooted it, after abit of failure I managed to root it. Phone worked fine I tried to install a mod and that's when I thought If there's any errors I can just delete everything and install but that wasn't the case it would stay frozen, I tried aroma manager it wasn't showing much files so I thought I would try and install the stock rom again that didn't work I then tried another rom and just been booting to CWM the sd won't mount so I been sideloading these files. :crying:
Before flashing the stock ROM you need to relock the phone first.
I just managed to get the phone working again
But a problem I have is that certain apps will fail to install on my phone like root explorer I would get a message saying Couldn't install on USB or SD card. Is this due to a partition or some other type of error? I had more or less the same problem on my S2 when I went back to stock. I later installed CM10 and the problem didn't occur, would I need to install another rom or is there a slightly easier fix for this?

[Q] Won't come out of CWM recovery

It all started when I was on SlimRom 4.2.2 build 6.2. I noticed that my camera was crashing with a message "Unfortunately, Gallery stopped working." I tried to correct this problem by moving to build 6.0 but it didn't work. Then I tried to go to ICS but instead of booting, my phone remained in CWM recovery. I've tried hundreds of things after that but my phone is stuck in recovery. I think the partitions are messed up. I cannot mount /emmc. It says Error mounting /emms whenever I try to mount it. I can connect using adb and I can go into download mode. I've tried flashing stock firmware with partitioning on using odin. But it then boots in stock recovery and cannot access sdcard.
Is there a way to do a completely clean install after creating partitions from scratch and formatting and mounting them from scratch? Is there any other way to recover phone?
Regards,
YRS
Try to reinstall the ROM again or twice.
It should've happened because of the partition and it need to be reflashed to fix.
Darky's Rom Resurrection solved my problem after 2 weeks of struggling Thanks Darky.
