[Q] CM11 M2 - missing screen options? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I just upgraded my CM from 10.1 to 11, but I'm having some trouble finding the home screen settings. Can anyone please tell me how to:
- Remove an icon from the home screen (long press to drag does not work, as the garbage can does not appear)
- Hide apps from the app screen (the app screen settings are missing from the phone settings)
- Choose the number of home screens available (it's 3 now, I can't find where to change this)
I have googled these questions but no luck so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] My home screen changed HELP

So my home screen changed what can I do to fix it? when I tap home it goes to a different screen than it use to. I went into edit and tried to move them around to get the screen I had back to home but did not work. I have a icon on the bottom of one of the screens while in edit that looks like the home button and it stays on that screen no matter what I do. I moved that screen everywhere to far left to far right but it still stays as my home screen. I want my old home screen back Help me please.
I hope I have explained this correctly.....
What launcher are to using?
I am using what ever came on the phone I have not added a launcher
I do not use touch wiz. That is stock. I use launcher pro. Read this, maybe it will shed light
http://androidforums.com/captivate-...64-how-do-you-change-default-home-screen.html
I found that and read it while searching google for help but it did not help me I really did not want to add another launcher to the phone if I don't have to. And I tried all those things.
Thanks
From home, menu -> settings -> applications -> manage applications
Now you may need to hit menu -> filter and select All if you are using the stock launcher TwLauncher.
Find the current launcher select "Clear defaults". The next time you hit home it will prompt you to select a default again.
Thanks this is what I was looking for are to a tech person for this phone or what? I have search everywhere for an answer and have found nothing that is correct. I need your contact info in case I have other question or problems about the phone.
Thanks Again!
No just got my captivate in december. Have a tech background actually with blackberry. If you get stuck again just post here again, there are many helpful forum users.

Could you please help me?

[Q] Nook HD CM11 - How to remove shortcuts from home screen?

Hi,
Recently upgraded my Nook HD from CM10.2.1 to CM11 M6 by wiping and doing clean install along with gapps. Everything works fine except I do not know how to remove shortcuts from the home screen.
Previously, I used to long press on the shortcut and drag it onto the X in the top left corner of the home screen (I could also do the same to uninstall apps). I am unable to do this in CM11 M6 as the X is not there.
What is the process for removing shortcuts from the home screen? (Is there some documentation I can refer to that covers changes to the UI? I have looked at the wiki on the CM site but can't find anything that covers this)
Thanks in advance for any help.
To answer my own query,
This appears to be a bug in CM11 M6. When my screen is locked in landscape orientation, the remove and app info elements are not visible/useable. Switch orientation to Portrait and the remove and app info elements appear and are useable.

[Q] Black Circle Three Dots Floating Button

Hi Everyone,
I am using HTC One (M7) unrooted that was recently upgraded to Android Lollipop 5.0.2 and I started noticing a black button with three white dots appearing on my screen when I enter certain apps. Tapping it would just toggle the settings menu in the app. Double tapping it wouldn't do anything. Press hold would enable me to move the button to anywhere I like on the screen.
I have no use for it since I have it set up from my Settings that I would open the settings menu by long pressing my Home button. Does anyone also know of this, and if so, how do I remove it? I attached a screen shot for your reference (look at top right corner). Thanks in advance!
I'm interested in finding a solution to this too. No luck in the default.xml, at least for search terms "overflow" and "menu". MaximusHD 52.0, 5.0.2
Confirming this is really annoying & I'd like to know if there is a way to get rid of it?
Hi, I've got the same with galaxy s6 edge and android 5.0.2
It seems that only apps without direct implementation of the android three dots menu have this problem.
Could somebody help please ?
floating button
Same here. Irritating whilst using Mobo Player
The only way you are gonna get rid of it is to hide it in the app itself. With less and less phone with buttons the more you will see this.
Solution
I found myself frustrated at this myself today.
The solution is to go to Settings > Display > Buttons > Home and change "press and hold" from Google Now to Menu.
That removes the button from all apps, and you can just hold the home button to access the menu for those apps that need it.

[SOLVED] How to bring back vertical recently opened apps display?

Galaxy A71, Android 12, One UI = 4.1. When I first got my Galaxy A71, the recent apps button showed a vertical stacked overlapping list of my recent open apps. This was great. For some reason, this display was replaced by a horizontal slide list that only shows 1 open app at a time. How to go back to the vertical stacked overlapping list of open apps?
Can a custom launcher do this?
See the left side of the top pic to see the open app display I want. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/11/android-5-0-lollipop-thoroughly-reviewed/6/
Try using Good Lock (or NiceLock) + the Home Up module. It should let you customize the recents style (called Task Changer inside Home Up)

How to mark this thread as SOLVED?
Just add [SOLVED] in the tittle, you can just keep this thread open if anyone ever has questions about it
