Atrix HD hanging with Custom Roms - Motorola Atrix HD

Hello my friends.. I have a the Weirdest problem with my atrix HD, i rooted and unlocked Bootloader.... The issue is This.. No matter what custom Rom i use the phone keeps hanging and i have to force Reboot... The thing is it only happens when the phones has a Sim card... Without Sim Card the phone works with no issues......
What can this be??? Phone was working fine with the stock rom before!!
Thanks

Have you tried sim cards from different carriers?

Yeah, you should try different carrier.
I had same problem on one of two local carriers since I'm not in US. Oh I was on stock ROM. Interesting is that on custom ROMs I didn't get any FC on both but still you may want to try different carrier if that's an option.

You may want to check to see if your apn settings are correct. There is a sticky in the development section with all the settings

Run your carrier's stock RUU. It smeels like a Radio issue.
You've either fried the antennae, or have a radio issue. Like ideaLduK said I'd run the stock RUU and then see if that fixes it, if not you might have the first problem I mentioned.
can you please help

Well, I'm not sure about the problem; if you are on a custom rom, it might be because of that, or incorrect flashing. Try using another ROM, and if problems persists try Stock ROM meant for your region. (it might be possible that you flashed a ROM for a different region and because of that you might have a problem..)
AND NEVER POST YOUR IMEI NUMBER ONLINE.

pop your sim card out for 15 min. then put it
back in your phone.
In the second pic it is clearly showing 1 bar of signal
So how can you say sim is not being detected
No way out here

Did you notice the the SIM symbol with question mark inside it?
The phone acts like there is no SIM card inserted when it is inside all the time.

Very Frustrated! Flashed MavRom4.5 and now SIM is not being detected. Please help!

A couple days ago I followed the instructions to unlock my D3 to use on T-Mobile. Everything went perfect and I was using it with T-Mo. I just decided to flash to a custom rom (MavRom 4.5) and now I'm getting a general error of my SIM not being detected. I do not think there is anything wrong with my SIM since I was just using it in the phone this morning. I have tinkered with the build.prop and tried using a custom one too. It was like the phone was trying to work with my SIM but eventually failed or does so immediately. I just want to use my phone. I really don't know what's going on. I'm honestly tired of searching too. I'm kind of at a loss. Please someone help. It'd be much appreciated.
Mmmm... tell me some things:
1- Is your phone unlocked in some way?
2- Do you have tried another ROM? (i think yes)
3- use the base build.prop
4- do you have XT860 or XT862? because MAVRom has 2 versions..

Try replacing libmoto_ril.so file on /system/lib.
Follows attached. Unzip and place on the folder mentioned above, overwriting the existing one.
This is the only way that I'm able to use custom roms made for XT862. I hava a XT860 running on GSM networks, so this could help.
Probably after that you will need to check if you need to set up the APNs accordingly.
I'd just go back to what was working. There is nothing in Maverick that is worth the hassle of a phone that doesn't work the way that you want.

Hm, I use Maverick 4.0 without any issues (4.5 is the same thing with overclock scripts, but they cause a battery drain, so I stuck with 4.0). The only issue I have (rarely) is sometimes it'll say invalid sim, but usually it'll still work, just have to reboot to fix that. Long as you have the XT883 radio and proper edited build.prop it *should* work. Please do NOT use any libs for the XT860, you will only make the radio not work at all and potentially cause damage. The XT860 libs were made for a GSM only radio, the XT862 has a dual CDMA/GSM radio, so the libs do not know how to control the radio.
If you require any files or info, let me know. Where I work happens to have refarmed T-Mobile's HSPA to 1900MHz so my D3 can use it. You might have just missed a step somewhere or missed a permission.

Sprint GSM Rom for Unlocked Sprin Htc One

I recently unlocked my sprint htc one and im trying to use it on tmobile, everything works, i even get 3g data but the big problem is that the network settings doesnt automatically choose the tmobile network and it disconnects way, way to often, when it disconnects i have to manually search for the network every time as it wont select it automatically. I think that whats needed is a Sprint gsm rom for it to work as it should or maybe a flashable patch. if anybody has the knowledge, i would appreciate it. big thanks!!!

The print htc one is a world phone, just like they make roms for the rezound from verizon, which is a world phone as well or the droid 3 global, they make botch cdma roms and gsm roms. So now we need a gsm compatible rom.

Don't flash any Rom unless it's sprint compatible. Intl/other carrier roms have different mount points and will make your phone reboot/drop service with only fix being RUUing

Absolutely not. That's your one-way ticket to RUU-hell land. It's not just differences in the kernel, but also in how the internal storage is partitioned. I'm pretty surprised that even with GSM/UMTS you're having trouble. Anyone know if the stock PRL for the Sprint ROM might be interfering (i.e. the phone is trying to search for one of Verizon's CDMA towers first)?
If anyone wants, just send me the updater-script from a GSM ROM, and I will change the mount points to be for Sprint. Like that you can flash the GSM rom. However, I would like to know if there is anyone brave enough (with S-Off) to flash the firmware bits of the GSM phones (radio, adsp, rpm, and maybe the sbl*; not the bootloader and recovery).
The radio.img is the most dangerous thing... But I think getting the GSM f/w on the GSM-unlocked Sprint phone will be a good thing. Unless, anyone knows that the radios are different? I know the mount points are different, but does anyone have any info on the firmware itself?
Anyway, just let me know if you wanna try to flash a GSM rom, I will update the mount points for you.

I was playing around with qpst and on service programming on the umts tab system there is an option "preceded network selection" and is set to limited, I try changing it but it won't let me write to phone, I think that's what sprint did to limit connection of gsm in USA
ill try it

GT I9305 on Omni rom not recognizing UMTS sim cards

Long time omnirom user here with an issue I cannot find a fix for.
In my country there's a cell operator called RCS-RDS that has always had very good rates and unlimited 3g internet but, up until recently, very bad coverage. I have used 2 sim cards from this operator whenever I was in their coverage area for years now without a problem.
Last month RDS, has signed a national roaming agreement with VODAFONE so that you can use their network for service whenever you're outside RDS's coverage area. To use this national roaming service however, I had to replace the sim cards I had from RDS with new ones which, they say, operate in the UMTS 2100 band. I've checked the I9305's specs, and that band should be supported without a hitch.
Problem is however, that if I try to use either of the 2 sim cards, the phone gives me a no sim card error message and will behave as if there's no sim in the phone.
I'm using the radio recommended by mccamblesmith, the I9305 omni rom developer, in the omni rom development thread, and I have tried flashing every radio I could find, from the newest 4.4 radios to some very old 4.3 ones, but no change, and I've tested the two sim cards on other phones, including an S4, a beat up old Allview, an even older and more beat up Huawei U1220 and a 3G USB dongle, and both sims worked flawlessly on all of those.
I've also tried getting help on omnirom's irc channel, but the place is dead.

i understand the issue here, but dont know how to fix it easiest way without loosing all your data and personal stuff etc.
it seems the issue is not modem related but i think its related with the roms settings you applied but dont know what exactly. all i can say is make a nandroid backup to external sd of current rom and flash back your official stock firmware with odin, root and install recovery and flash omni again, then try the sim cards again. if it does not work you can always restore the nandroid backup from recovery.
i hope this helps
