My CC updated to the 15250 build and now when I cast using any app it hangs on the splash screen of that app and then it loads the media it only plays sound. I have two CC that are doing the same thing.though when I move them right next to the router they work just fine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

So,
our house currently has 4 chromecasts. if i am not the one casting, i cannot tell what they are actually doing.
is there any method currently to see whats being cast to the screen without being there (URL/mirroring)
thanks for any ideas!
There's an app called RemoteCast that tries to connect to an active Chromecast and take over control. It can sometimes show you a text title for what's running on the Chromecast. But the app hasn't been updated for a long time, and it doesn't work with many Chromecast apps now.
Using my device as an AP to connect my Chromecast has been semi-successful.
I'm able to use the "Cast screen" option and AVIA.
I'm aware there is limited support, but strangely the cast button was available immediately following the Chrome beta release that supported casting Youtube and HTML5 content, but recently the cast option has disappeared. It's available on another Android devices, but no longer available on my HTC One as an AP.
Does anybody have a working Chrome beta that is running a Access Point and able to cast HTML5 from their device?

Hello,
Here a little guide to stream Skype on TV with Chromecast.
With Chromecast + Android,
we can make video call on TV with Skype.
The idea is to cast screen from Android to Chromecast / TV, then run Skype.
Cast screen and mirroring is the same.
Required :
- TV + Chromecast
- Android 4.4
- Chromecast app
- Skype (official version or fixed version here)
- MirrorEnabler here need ROOT if your device is not officially supported to Cast Screen with Chromecast
If the last version of Skype don’t work on your device, then install this fixed version : here.
MirrorEnabler enable mirroring from any device. Mirroring (cast screen) is the third functionality of Chromecast, which allow to duplicate your Android screen in real time to TV.
- Install Skype (I recommend the fixed version above).
- Install Chromecast on TV.
- Install MirrorEnabler (only if your device is not officially supported to Cast Screen). Enable its functions, reboot.
- Cast screen to Chromecast / TV from Chromecast app.
- Run Skype.
- Voilà !
May I be the first to say Thanks Dude ???
Has anyone successfully gotten the audio to stream through the TV as well?

Hi, did you find a way to stream the audio as well?
I'm looking for a way to fix this for so long..
Thanks in advance
Wow nice, actually i'm using my chromecast with popcorntime... Will give a shoot to this, but it's the audio working or not?
I havent tried skype but everything else I've tried has the audio go through the tv, my device is officially supported if that makes a difference.

Anyone managed to get sound form skype? i have sound on everything else using LG G3 CM12
I cannot get Chromecast to work with the Nook HD+. I installed CM11 Rom with Mirror Enabler app and Chromecast app. In Mirror Enabler App, I enabled all three options. If I go to Settings>Display>Cast Screen, the Nook HD+ finds my Chromecast. But when I select the Chromecast, the screen may turn black for a second and then it just disconnects. And if I go into the Chromecast app, it shows my device. But when I hit Cast Screen, the connection just ends and nothing even seems to happen.
I read on the CM11 thread around page 182 where another user had the same problem and another member (extrem0) posted a file to flash that fixed his problem. But the file is no longer available. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
What's your rom build date? Unless you're using a 6 months old build, you don't need the file I posted. Also, I think Mirror enabler app is no longer needed. Google updated chromecast app making mirroring working on all 4.2+ devices IIRC.
In case anybody else experiences this problem, I was finally able to get the Nook HD+ to cast to Chromecast. If I used only the Chromecast app, it would immediately disconnect when I would select cast screen to the Chromecast. It turns out I needed the mirror enabler app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193. And the tricky part is that the latest version of the mirror enabler app (v7) doesn't work with the Nook HD+. You need to use an older version such as v6 or v5.
After downloading mirror enabler v6, I started the app and enabled the 3 options. Then I rebooted the tablet. After it rebooted, I went into Settings>Display>Cast Screen. Make sure the option for Cast Screen is turned on and that you have your Wifi turned on. You should see your Chromecast device listed on your tablet. Just tap on it and it should cast to your TV screen. When you want to disconnect, just tap on the Chromecast device again and hit disconnect. That is basically it.
The Rom I am currently using is Temesek's CM11 ROM. Now only if I could get flash player to work
I didn't know mirror app was still needed. Didn't try to cast using my nook recently. Also, mirroring is not working on CM12 (I tried both v7 and v6 mirror app and it didn't work).
For flash player, try Dolphin browser.
Thank you, neonleon29! I've tried for two months to get mirroring to work and now it works perfectly.

Using build.prop, we can enable Miracast on Shamu. I am using Netgear P2TV 3000 with the most up to date firmware. Netflix seems to have an issue or some sort of DRM in the app to block the video stream on Miracast. The audio plays and you get a playback screen, but the video is just a black screen. Other apps work fine and the display/audio is pretty good.
Could someone please find a solution to this issue? Thanks!
the same happened to me but using chromecast ... audio and closed captions but no video image... still figuring out as it was netflix app specific, tried other online streaming directly from chrome and it worked..

Maybe try Netflix for xbmc. If you are unaware of xbmc give it a google. I don't have Netflix so I can't say what does or doesn't work.

You trying something wacky, like "cast screen"? Because the netflix android application *contains* a netflix CHROMECAST application, and installs it as needed. It does not transfer video from the phone to the chromecast, the chromecast logs in and runs netflix directly.
nope, i think it is something related to DRM, i know netflix app do have en embedded chromecast beam however it does not work on my nexus 6, if i use the cast screen option to mirror i can see video with no issues from chrome or any other app, but not form netflix despise using cast from chromecast app or directly from the netflix app, it makes no difference
now working with 5.1

What build? I am on 5.1 the Netflix app still displays no video when miracasting. Build lmy47e. Also you are using chromecast right, not miracasting to another comparable Miracast receiver?
