hm..
sry to dig this, came here from google and found this wrong piece of information.
pairing with a ps3 controller will work with stock 4.0.3 ICS on the p880.
it will not work with stock 4.1.2 JB.
it may work with Custom Roms, it works with CM 10.1.3.
biggest problem is that on custom ROMs like CM mhl isnt working properly, so you only get portrait orientation via mhl on your TV.
conclusion: the only ROM for the p880, that makes a playstation out of your phone and works 100% with mhl/controller, is 4.0.3 stock.
didnt test with other custom roms.

get cm11 unofficial, or any other rom with kernel from p880-dev tree, and you'll have working mhl rotation.
Yep ive seen users reporting mHL works on beanstalk with Unofficial p880-dev sources only. Just like @Flying_Bear said it SHOULD work on all roms with Unofficial sources

Yes choose any rom built from official cm device tree and flash the p880-dev kernel (if i find the link to it ill add it here) and it should work (i haven't tested mhl at all yet)

I can't seem to find any working links for the p880-dev kernel that has been packed into a zip file. I found your link in the beanstalk thread, but it seems you removed it from your dropbox.
Do you by chance have a copy of it somewhere still?

Sorry, but XDA rules say you have to ask permission if you use other's work. You can't just upload some ROM and then ask someone else to test it. If you're afraid to brick your device - this is no place for you.

Thanks, TheWhisp. I only wanted to help comunity.
I think you are very rude and only want fame. Everything for you.
Actually, no. I just don't see any point of someone re-building and re-uploading the same ROM. It's easy to download already working sources and then just build a ROM and "be a dev". No offence, but I've said it already and I will say it again - everyone is free to contribute with their ideas, fixes and whatever you can contribute with. How did you think you helped the community? By uploading the same build as I? I just don't get, I mean, people like you and those Ace Plus guys who did the same thing. If you want to help the community, the bug list is available for everyone... Dig in. Building a ROM from source is easy. Setting up a working device config and fixing bugs is the development process.
EDIT: I didn't mean that you have to stop what you were doing, there are a lot of other ROMs you can build, like, for example, AOKP. (if you're capable of setting up the source)

no, it will probably not work with the same libs. Libs are not the only thing that is needed for camera, if we use GB libs we need binder, heapbase compatibility and camera parameters etc. built into framework

Yes, there're here CM11 STABLE Releases
You'll need CWM 6.x recovery, a based CWM6 recovery or TWRP 2.7.0.0 recovery to flash those ROM correctly
Finally here you'll find CM11/OMNI/OMEGA roms, you can flash using a CWM 5.x based recovery

Hello, if any developer can build drivers for solana 4.4.x, I can build any rom what u want, I think that the DROID RAZR XT910/912 have similar hardware, and camera and wifi and some others things, but I don't know how to build kernels, so if anyone knows how to, or anyone build a kernel(and necessary files for Android 4.4.4) please tell me and inmediatly I'll build a lot of roms for our device.

dont know if i can build a kernel but i can offer u my assistance in probably building a rom. there is already a kitkat rom for the D3 but the wifi & storage doesnt work, can u fix that? i'll give u the link to my rom site where lyes all the D3 roms look for the ls kk rom and maybe u could take that and maybe build a new one from it, the rest are jellybean roms maybe u can use that idk. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/b0gq735hrqxx6/Droid_3_ROMS
I'll build a rom for Solana(droid3) but I don't have the phone anymore, so if anyone wants to be a tester I'll upload it. Please note that I don't have the phone anymore so if this brick your phone I'm not responsable, in order to not to brick, please use slot-1 or slot-2, but not stock(in this way you can evade a brick).
anyway, those who wants to try this please tell me and when the rom finish building I put the link.
and another thing is:
I don't know a lot of English especial words, so I can't understand this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943625
because we need a new recovery, we have a older release, to build the SAFESTRAP you can use this:
https://github.com/stargo/android_bootable_recovery
https://github.com/stargo/android_packages_apps_Safestrap
this is the lastest but I don't know how to build it.

I am also disappointed a bit. I came from Milestone 2, which is older, but still under development, even though it rests in 'legacy devices' forum. But existing ROMs for Droid 3 are fast and stable - i.e. Minimoto which I'm using now. No KitKat? Yeah, but who cares for KitKat?
I would love to see a 4.4.4 rom for the droid 3 or a 5.0 rom. I will gladly test.

You found the one on the post from photon q lte? so that means you found all kernels available. What Android version is LS 2.9?

No wifi or data? Thats odd, but without looking at that thread, you might want to find the cm10.2 specific kernels, idk if anykernel supports cm10.2 or if it was built for that

Well, anykernel IS anykernel xD
It means it contains the kernel for every CM based rom for PHOTON Q, i guess thats the problem. I will try to search a little bit more.

No, not necessarily. It means you can take an updated kernel, unpack a boot.img, replace the kernel, and repack the boot.img with the new kernel. However, cm10.2 kernel support was dropped last yr. So the anykernel is cm11

I just have to find the right version and copy it to the ahykernel zip?
