Hey there, i just found out, that our beloved Xperia Z1 doesn't have many Bluetooth Profiles but they should be supported with Android 4.3.
Is there any way to add new Bluetooth Profiles with an update.zip or even an apk?
In my case i'm on 14.2.A.0.290 and it is rooted but not unlocked and i really would love to have atleast avcrp on my XZ1 so that i can get the Track Information to my Car via Bluetooth.
Best regards

Hi, I have just updated to version 434 after a little accident with my /data partition. I have a MW600 Bluetooth headset with OLED screen to display caller and track details. On my Xperia S the bluetooth stack in android ICS didn't support track text ( an android issue). Now I tried this headset when I got my Xperia Z too but am sure track text still didn't work with the Z. So after update i repaired all my bluetooth devices and to my surprise the track text now displays! (only tried this in the Walkman app) I'm quite happy this worked so seeing as I was on a roll i decided to try my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and pair it up with the Z too. This also works perfectly! (never worked before on previous devices)
Is this a JB feature that these devices now work or was it something in the latest update?
Any ideas?

Hi,
I have (mw600 and 350fw). I've tried and it has showed song's name. But I couldn't use my phone to making calls. So I haven't tried caller ids yet.

Thanks,
They must have added the required items to the bluetooth stack on jelly beans so. Still noce to know though.

Hello,
does any one know if the XZ supports bluetooth low energy / bluetooth smart?
the reason I ask is that I would like to buy:
http://www.zephyranywherestore.com/dp/B009XDTN80
thanks
Edit:
I wound this:
"Hi, regarding BTLE in Xperia Z, it currently supports Bluetooth Low Energy profiles “Generic Attribute Profile Client/Server” and “Proximity Monitor Profile”. And yes, our BT engineers have confirmed that the necessary hardware exists for an update that would support a generic BLE API.
Thanks and best regards,"

so now I have to figure out if this is enough for the zephyr
I'm wondering the same thing. Does it work with BTLE heart rate monitors?

Just wondering whether there is any fix for the bluetooth issue on 4.3 roms. I can connect my phone to car without any issues, but cant syn contacts or answer/reject calls via steering wheel. If not, is it possible perhaps to copy bluetooth related files over from 4.2?

Quite the same problem here. I can pair the XZ with my Car's device (ego flash), but I can't synch the phonebook.
I already deleted the Bluetooth setting on both devices, nothing helps
if somebody has a solution??

sorry for my bad english...
I'm having exactly the same problems.
And it seems as if every android update on my xperia z fixes some bluetooth bugs and brings up some new ones. After each update, my phone behaves differently in my car.
I had the exact same issue, (to give a little more detail) it causes you to either drop wifi connection when on bluetooth or vice versa and i had just bought a sony smart watch that ran off of bluetooth.I never found a fix from sony. What i did do to fix it was flash myself the latest eXistenZ rom, it worked perfectly and both my smartwatch and wifi could work at the same time
Same song different dance
My issues with 4.3 update are related to the poor performance of the bluetooth driver on audio connect.
I have downgraded to 4.2 because i use bluetooth headphones and i have 2 bluetooth speakers, that with the 4.3 are almost useless because:
Low volume output over bluetooth, quality of the audio is a bit down, and most important for a heavy sleeper, the bluetooth speakers are working only with music/video soundtracks, they are not ringing anymore on phone calls, alarms, notifications.
Please, anyone, put the 4.2 bluetooth driver somewhere, flashable or i dont know, i tried everything, but i guess the best option is to install the 4.2 bluetooth driver on 4.3. Is it possible?
Now I found an workaround for me. I deleted all the photos inside the contacts ( about 8 or 9 contacts of 331 had a photo inside). Phone-Book sync and sending contacts separately is working now. Not perfect, but OK for the moment.
Could this be a problem with Android 4.3 ? I never had that before with my Defy, Razr i, Wiko Darkmoon or Alcatel OT6040D.

kbert

i have searched & yes,possible...
Bluetooth on the z1 has been totally Crap on anything other than 4.2.2.......
Such a sweeping statement.
I, for one, have had no issues on any firmware with bluetooth
Hi Greg,
Well, when I first got my z1 it was on 4.2.2 and it connected to my car audio system and downloaded the phone book, call logs and I could use the handshake with no problems.. After this (on 290 and 136) it would not work at all. It would pair but I couldn't use handsfree and the call logs and phone book would not download... It got very slightly better on 4.4.2 in that the handsfree and call logs work but not the phonebook... I have tried my car audio with a s3 running 4.3 and a HTC m8 running kitkat and they work with no problems at all.. Handsfree, call lists and phonebook work perfectly... In the Sony website there are hundreds of people that have various issues with bluetooth on the z1....

Sony Mobile has an official Diagnostics application for download on Google Play Store. Try with that. It might help you to know if it is a hardware or software problem.
