Help requested in finding a working ROM. - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, guys.
I'm having a lot of problems with my 5830 at this time. It's currently running 2.3.6 stock although 3G is not working at all. I've tried countless other ROMs hoping to resolve the issue, but I am just getting nowhere. I'm assuming I will need to drop down to 2.2, but finding a 2.2 ROM... Right now, I have S5830XWTR.
If anybody might be able to point me in the right direction, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

try cm10.1 based roms or cm7.2!
cm7.2 based miracle v4 is a good and stable one!
then there is infinity rom as well!

Awesome, taking a look at that now, although this leads me onto my next question. How can I root this thing? Both SuperOneClick and OneClickRoot fail to root it. (Have no CWMRec on here right now).
Thanks, pal.
EDIT: Got it sorted. Thanks so much for your help!

Have you ever tried Ultimatum ROM?

Welcome!~ Let me tell you it'll get frustrating at first, but if you have patience and are willing to put in some time to learn things you will no doubt be amazed at what you can do.
I had a similar issue a while back and I started a thread, which blew up with information, so I suggest you look through there as it has useful tips from some really great members about what you're looking for. I see you're looking to upgrade from 2.3.3. The latest in my thread is version 2.3.6 and that one is great. Try that out first and when you're ready I suggest moving onto Cyanogenmod 7.1 as it's based on the latest Gingerbread build 2.3.7
Good luck! Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375971
this thread is useful i reckon. good luck.

Thanks,
Does my phone have to be unlocked? It if so the only way to unlock that I've seen is to use another sim card.
No, your phone does not need to be unlocked.
I'm currently running the JW1 (2.3.6) ROM that was released at the end of January with the Bell phone and modem files.
See post #9 in the thread pk1025 linked to.
It discusses and visually displays how to take pieces of different ROMs and install them on a Bell GT-i9000m phone.
It talks about installing JVT, but the same thing applies if you wish to install JW1 or the JVU value pack version discussed here.
Thanks alot the process is making alot more sense.
What's the most current stable version of 2.3.6. and where do I get it from?

Sorry if this doesnt belong here...

Well you have to consider that he might not be looking to flash a ROM at all. But yes, read the stickies. They're all over the place
Sent from my CM9 ICS i897 Captivate
I did use this guide and worked for me.
How To Flash Captivate ROMs from STOCK
If something goes wrong I did use the following guide
[Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPDATED
I have installed one that has a Kernel with CWM and then could install any other rom.
hope it helps

[Q] Best Rom for ds7

I don't know which Rom is best for my t-mobile device which is rooted stock Rom 2.2.2 and want to upgrade rom. I know their are bugs in some so whichever has the least bugs and crashes would be great help and cut back the extensive reading thru tons of posts. Links to download Rom would be sweet too. I am a noob, but I got it figured out.

Sending phone away- Need most stable ICS ROM

Hi folks,
Im a sgs2 user but I have my old I9000 international, that I wish to send away to a friend in need. Im sure this question has been asked a few times but specific to this circumstance, I would like suggestions for a rock stable ICS ROM. I have jelly bean on there now and it seems to be running ok, but if something goes awry, im not around to flash a new ROM for this person and they know nothing about rooting. JB is also not mature enough to send away to someone.
Been away from this forum for awhile since sgs2 but it appears ICS333 is decent?
Also if someone could tell me the best radio for Tmobile. I have no way to test it with a tmobile sim card since im on a canadian provider.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I have tried many jelly bean roms but those are not stable enough that I go back to ICS333 because it is the most stable. First install value pack 2.3.x like xxjvu or xxjvs via Odin then root ur phone and finally install ics333. That works best for me.
