you could try using the Alarm Clock Lite ..
try adding mp3 into the music files under program files within the phone storage, not internal and look it up.
None of these things work..... i tried almost to copy the song in every music-sound folder but nothing happens. Anyone else any solution?
I heard that .wav works..
Ill try wav too and see what happens.
Wav doesnt work either. Anyone else any sugestions?

[Q] No Sound while playing mp4 or mkv files

Hi,
Whenever I try to play mp4 or mkv files in my SGS, the video comes however, there isn't any sound... I have tried searching on various forums but didn't find any concrete solutions... Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?
I have tried various players available in the market... However ended up with same result of no sound...
Please suggest some way out...
Samsung Galaxy S
Android 2.2
BaseBand: I9000DDJP2
Build: Froyo.DDJP6
Thanks,
Guru
If a video fails to play sound but video plays then its usually the wrong format for the codecs in the phone .
The phone is unable to play the specific format the media consists of .
Solution find a media player from the market that will play that format or convert the files to a format the phone plays .

I would recommend using mvideo player. When you adjust the volume settings while the video is playing you get no sound at all?

Absolutely... I don't get any sound... Even for Mvideo player it is the same thing... No sound at all...
Check in your settings, sound and make sure system volume is max and media volume is at least over 50%?

Volume is at max level...
Have you flashed custom kernel or anything?
If not, I really believe it may be the actual video files and not the phone.

Nopes, I haven't flashed the phone... However the phone is rooted....and i have one click lag fix installed...
did you use a video converter or something to pull the videos from youtube or something like that? I really believe that files themselves maybe the issue then. Root and lag fix shouldn't give you that trouble.
You need to find what format the files are then check if phone can play that format .

[Q] Ringtones on phone memory.

Hi everyone! this is my first post! I hope you can help me
I look in others threads and didn't find it.
What I want to do, is save my own ringtones on the telephone memory to able to pick any of those ringtones from the default list.
My phone is already rooted and I use the Root Explorer.
I know that the default ringtones and notification sounds are in
/system/media/audio (/ringtones or /notifications)
the music in the file are in ogg, so I convert my ringtones from mp3 to ogg
I fill all the information of the ringtone (artist - title - etc)
and put the file there. Then I noticed the permissions of the rest of the ringtones, so I changed too. And beside of that, it still not working.
I know that if I create a file with the name ringtones or notification in the sdcard I can see those ringtones from the default list, but that is not what I want. I want to be able to choose ringtones from the phone memory. It's doesn't matter if is not on the default list.
if any of you know how to do that, please help me
Thanks for the read!
and bye!
You can choose your ringtone through the music application.
I don't know about notifications..( I choose it through GO SMS app)

You don't have to convert the file type from mp3 to ogg,, u just have to put that mp3 file in /system/media/audio/notification or ringtones. (remember to mount system permission as r/w).
After that, reboot your device and change ringtone through setting menu,,

ok.. I did the same thing.. used root explorer to copy the ringtone to the phone memory.
saved it in system/media/audio/ringtone
but my music player didn't show it..
so I deleted an existing ringtone "breeze.ogg" and renamed my file as the same . now the sound picker shows breeze but it plays the ringtone I made...!
