We have been needing a gummy thread for a long time. This will be my first thread start. So. 1/29 has been running very well for me with only occasional black screen, no response. Pull battery issues. Only every now and then. So, today j was happy to see a new build. When I went to install it safe strap said can't open zip error. Failed. Disappointed. Rebooted back into 1/29. Oh well I'm sure they'll fix it. They are great about that.
Also got the red error in safestrap on last build.

Strange. 2/08 is out. but its only 17.3 mb. Not sure if its a mistake or if we flash it then flash 2/07. Guess I ll try that and report back.
Nah, think the last two are junk...not sure there's any changes going on anyway. Probably just bot-builds over the latest aosp base.

Ya saw on twitter that they had issues with oldandroid uploading ROMs. Ours is not the only ROM not complete looks like. I looked at some others and half of them didn't look right. Hope they get it fixed, I really like gummy.
2/10 is 194 mb.
2/10 is good so far. Haven't had time to play with all of it yet but so far its smooth. Tether works, I flashed the cm WiFi fix to be sure.
2/11 so far has the best battery life of any I've flashed lately.

do you think lmt pie uses the battery in terms of drain, any differently than say a hard coded slimpie?
and when do you convert to ART before or after restoring apps
No idea. Don't use either. And I went to art first and have stayed there. At first I switched back and forth, but now I just use art. Never had any issues but for some lag now and then. But I think it mostly had to do with all the different kernels.
2/15 is great. Has the ubuntu#2 kernel and good battery.
Been a week since last update. Hopefully they are fixin to wow us with another milestone. M.2. I'm ready. Its still the most stable, right along with cm.
Newer builds 2/25 on android hosting.org.
Last two builds have the old wifi bug on first boot...wifical.sh does not fix it,nor does reboot

It would be sweet if the fix gets the battery performance to be as good as that of Stock 1.2!
Waiting eagerly for the release. Using Froyo 0.6.8 R7 in the meantime.
is it just me or CM7 in general goes through a battery noticeably faster? I guess I can try doing a simple comparison using the browser or something.

Between the overclocked kernel and the fact that it doesn't go into a deep sleep, yes, CM7 currently consumes battery very quickly relative to stock. It sounds like the new kernel will address the latter, but you're always going to pay some cost for higher performance with an overclocked kernel while you're actually using the NOOK.

So
I'm running the latest nightly, and I highly recommend everyone at least flash up to n63. In there Dal was able to get the speaker to shutup when it's sleeping (you'll still hear the buzz when the screen is on, but when off...nice and quiet )
That, plus the 1.3GHz kernel, I'm getting MUCH better battery, and it seems snappier (and has since the base changed to 2.3.4).

Sweet, I prefer to stay as stable as possible but with these updates I'm pretty much sold on at least updating to your specified version. Unfortunately I'm away from home at the moment and this Net connection is slow. I prefer making an Image Backup before I update anyway, just incase. That way I can always Flash back if anything screwy goes on.

is this any different than R2's latest build in terms of smoothness, speed, or improvements?
when you say Cam doesnt work, does that mean at all or just some features of the Cam? This is the only thing stopping me from trying this Rom. Been dying to get my hands on an ICS port for our Inc's. Thank you so much for this, great job!
Hmmm, I flashed it, erased data and dalvik cache, nothing at the incredible screen, did it again, same thing?
Not to be rude or anything, but I haven't even been able to get passed the welcome screen due to reboots. I've had six in a row after the language screen. This has been the case with my phone on any of the current ICS roms. It will eventually get passed it, but still randomly reboot all over the place.
Agenda Calendar Widget
After installing this ROM, GAPPS, and a couple of apps I got a few soft reboots, but it now seems stable. So don't give up on this right away. Reboot and few times and it should get better. GPS, wifi, sound all seem to be working well.
It did start with language as Afrikaans, but I managed to find my way through the menus and switch to English.
I don't think any camera app will function. Something to do with the lib files needing updating. I don't think anyone has that figured out yet for ics-dinc.
Does anyone have an agenda style calendar widget that works with this or any ics-dinc ROM? Seems that smooth calendar is not ready for ics yet.
People stuck at the welcome screen probably didnt do a full wipe, including system wipe and boot. Exciting, can't wait to try.

Why would I or anyone not do a full wipe? I understand there are some people that are that noob, but really? I've tried ICS over ten times now and have had the same results with each iteration. I've had many reboots from just typing in my email address. This is not an issue of wiping.

R2's ROM at least has a much more detailed changelog and list of what works/doesnt work. With nothing else to go on, I have to assume that the better-documented one is the better ROM.

Both work about the same. Though I had fewer fc's using Inc decks, but that doesn't really mean anything as they are both pre-alpha.
Make sure you guys understand what you're doing with this build, as in, if it won't boot or you boot loop or get stuck, the problem is what YOU are doing, and not the rom.
First of all, if you haven't checked the Md5 sum then you're really wasting your time and shooting blind. It HAS to match EXACTLY.
Second, follow the dev's instructions exactly as they wrote them. That means wipe and format the areas listed, and install the proper files in the proper order. So if he says to install the rom first, don't reboot yet, then install gapps, then reboot, then do it in that order.
Third, pay attention to what your phone is doing during the installation, ensuring you get all the messages you're expecting.
Fourth, be PATIENT. Consider what it is your phone is doing the very first time you boot up after installation: building and loading, compiling and accessing files and db's for the FIRST time. Let your phone do it's job and give it some time before you go munching on the sammich.
And finally, be cool. Don't come in here on an Alpha pre release thread and stink up the joint. (say "*****, be cool") If you can't seem to get it to take, then try a different method. Download the rom on a computer and transfer it to your phone, see if you get a different md5. Flash the rom zip, then flash it again right away before anything else. You make it through the setup screen, reboot the mofo and let it gain some proficiency.
One more thing, all the time and effort these guys put in to get these out is free of charge. Keep that vibe going however you can.
Much love my friends

Looked around for any feedback regarding CM on this phone, specifically the nightly cm 11. I'm full stock, but I heard that KK CM is pretty stable and great. With all this funding lately it's not looking bad. I don't have many complaints for stock though, so far for me it's been rock solid.

For me everything is flawless except Bluetooth. When I switch it on and it connects to my car, Bluetooth on the phone crashes instantly and then it just connects/disconnects over and over again. No word on if/when this will be fixed from what I read on their changelog page.

Battery life has been great for me! I've been using KT latest kernel for 4.4 and used some of his settings and pulled of 21 hrs yesterday with 3+ hrs of screen on time.
And regarding the camera....it's crap! I take photos with it and it shows clear and focused before shot and after, it's blurry around edges
You can, however, use a third party camera app and pics come out fine.

In your car? When did you flash CM11 first?
I just rooted my tablet using instructions from several sources here, and have a bit of a problem. I rooted it because of a slightly annoying problem with the touch screen. It worked great 90% of the time, but occasionally I would have to tap an icon a few times for the screen to respond. I have not installed any Rom on it as I decided to keep it stock for the time being. That could change real quick though!! After I rooted it, the problem has increased. I did install several tweaking apps on it (Enterprise ram and digitizer booster, Optimus Root Memory Optimizer, and Entrophy Fixer) and a few games that I had on it before. Removing the digitizer app did no good. The odd thing about it is, I do not notice the touch screen issue if I am playing a game, only when I touch the application icons or links. There does not appear to be any app available to calibrate the screen. Has anybody else had this issue with the 701? Thanks for any help you can provide!!

I doubt it, but doesn't hurt to try. CM12 is in beta though. CROMi-X 7.1 was just released. The "xxx process has stopped" is a bug that will be ironed out soon. You did clean install the rom, did you?
But if you have the same problem on different roms it's unlikely that your touch problem is software related.
To rule out a software problem you should format data and reflash the rom. Format, not just wipe. Which will delete all data on your tablet.
Also try with the microSD out. Bad cards can cause all kinds of weird problems.

Thank you for your response. I was able to fix the process error, but I still ended up putting CM12 on it anyhow! It took me all of 10 minutes and I have had no problems so far. It is very smooth and fast. I did a wipe/format, and a dalvik wipe before I put CM12 on it using CM 6.0.5.1 (I think that is the correct version). Not sure I did that correctly though, since my download folder on the tablet was still intact afterwards. My LCD problem is more than likely hardware, but it is more of an annoyance than anything. It only affects opening up apps. The screen works great in games and just typing.
Hi. I recently did a clean install of the latest CM 12.1 snapshot and open gapps. Nothing else. Install is totally clean. When I try to install an app from the play store it only works if it is less than approx 20 MB. If the app is larger, it appears to download twice then fails with a "unable to download message" on error code 963. I've tried the potential solutions I've found like stopping & resetting data for play store, but no luck. I'm not sure if this a gapps issue or cm, but I've tried earlier nightlies with no luck. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
Edit: same result on LTE or WiFi. App downloads to 99%, then redownloads, then throws the error. Thanks
I had the same issue.... I just went back to stock root. Sorry!

The 01/13/2016 build of open gapps seems to work fine. I just tested the 01/27/2016 build and it has the issue. Somewehere in those two weeks I'm thinking something must have happened. What's really kind of odd is that using the 01/27 gapps I could not download "Star Trek: Timelines" at 29MB, but I COULD download dropbox which is about 45MB, so size may not be the determining issue? I dunno. But 01/13/2016 works, so good enough done.

Yeah size did not seem to be the issue for me. The apps it won't install won't install even from a backup or being downloaded from a browser. Bowling king is one of the apps i had a problem with. I had a friend send me the apk in drive and ti backup and neither would install. Went back to 1/9 gapps, installed no problem.
Yep. Same exact situation. Couldn't side load either. Weird. I'm just glad to have things working again. That does give me pause about jumping to cm13 when it comes out. Wonder if the 6.1 gapps is mucked up too? I think I'll let others test it first...
Edit: typo
Hmm ran into this issue as well. Went back to cf rom. Used cm12.1 on my droid ultra and loved it but on this turbo its a different feeling.

I'm giving cm a run after being on cf for a while. I've never had a great experience with cm besides on my nexus. I've been on cm about 36 hours and seems like it's needed this whole time to settle. It does get warmer on cm. Besides theming I'm not extremely impressed. Probably give it a couple more days testing and see how everything is acting.
I'm really hoping they release marshmallow kernel source when it comes around like they did with the turbo 2. I think it would greatly benefit this good, but small community we have. This phone is pretty awesome. The camera is my only small complaint... Could be a touch faster, have camera2 or just more features and ois. I am surprised with the quality when perfectly still even in less than ideal lighting though.

I used cm12.1 for a week. It was working pretty good after 2 days after I fixed google play not installing. Everything works on it except for advance calling features. That's a deal breaker for me since I do video call my wife and son. I'll wait for the next cm but I'm content with cf w/exposed.

More info. Baybutcher posted this fix. For a clean install flash after gapps. If fixing an existing install remove all play store updates then flash this. It downgrades just play to a working version. Worked for me!
